Whoa, Rick! That was gross and badass at the same time and was not expecting that at all.
I consider Michonne to be Carl's mom. She's doing a pretty good job at it so far.
At least (almost) everyone is finally reunited! Took them long enough. And I thought Rick finally had a plan, but looks like he's going to come up with one.
This honestly was one of the greatest hours of television of all time. Every scene was gripping and heartstopping. I loved every second of it. I cant fucking wait for season 5
That was an excellent episode! I loved every minute of it.
When Rick bit Joe's neck . . . I just couldn't believe it. And then when he killed that rapist pedophile Candyman style . . . we were clapping and screaming. It was just awesome!
I cannot wait to see how they get away from those Terminus cannibal freaks! I'm so mad that we have to wait an entire year for the story to return. I need more "Walking Dead" now! Haha!
So, were the people at Terminus really cannibals as we all thought? I thought I saw a pile of what looked like human bones during the shoot out/chase scene.
Can't wait to see what Rick's Great Escape plan is.
Freaking awesome!! I have been waiting for the badass Rick to make a comeback and he did not disappoint at all, I loved this episode and I can not wait for season 5.
This honestly was one of the greatest hours of television of all time. Every scene was gripping and heartstopping. I loved every second of it. I cant fucking wait for season 5
I can't believe people are voting awful. I thought this finale (and season 4B) was pretty damn great. I was nervous someone from the core group was going to die but thankfully no one didn't.
Loved the flashbacks at the prison with Hershel. Those were the good old days before all hell broke loose.
Awww at Rick telling Daryl that he sees him as a brother. That was great.
My jaw dropped when Rick bit Joe's neck and then stabbed the guy that was holding Carl. That was awesome. I guess he was showing his inner walker XD
I really hope Carol, Tyreese, Judith, and Beth are safe wherever they are and find the rest of the group soon. They just need to get the hell out of Terminus.
This episode almost certainly confirmed that there is cannibalism going on at Terminus. Can't wait for season 5. The wait is going to be excruciating.
I'm really glad Rick has turned into the bad-ass again and that last line was amazing. It was a really good episode, but we now have to wait till October.
I missed the leader Rick, but I also enjoyed his characters downfall, his journey spiralling out of control. This was the best 'picking himself up' I could have hoped for Rick. The greatest leaders are the ones who have searched their darkest corners and come back fighting for their ones they love. Welcome back Rick!
You can tell by the dialogue of the residents of Terminus and there's a quick shot of human bones and flesh when Rick's group is running through Terminus.
Terminus is a "Cannibal Stronghold".................the writers gave us "Easter Egg" clues that revealed the cannibal theme. 1) Rick's "Flashbacks" about planting crops and raising livestock ie: need of a food source. Savaging food wasn't a permanent means. 2) Rick, Carl, and Michonne thankful to be eating a rabbit that didn't have enough meat on it's bones to feed the three ie: lack food. 3) The last episode before the finale/last scene the "Greeting Lady" said...........let's fix you'll a plate! They're at a "Train Terminal" with no cleared fields for planting crops or open area/range for livestock to grazing...............so where the #3LL they getting all these plates of "Food" from? The clues were a lack of food available. It was only a matter of time before the "Atlanta Group" ran into this problem and those who had made a decision on how to.............."Deal with It". I wanted something more concrete from this finale, but it was a "Good" episode to begin................"#3LL's Longest Winter"! Season 5 premiere prediction..............Beth has been eaten or is being eaten by "Train Stop Cannies"! 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING 4EVER AND EVER, I will remain Nobody!!!
I agree. I think they're cannibals. But how do they prevent the bodies from being taken over with virus before consuming them? Aren't the corpses tainted?
Did anyone else hear someone yelling 'Help!' when the group was running through Terminus looking for a way out? I heard someone yell it like three times...
Rick was something of a cannibal himself, in the beginning there. Goodbye, Claimers. Not gonna miss you. Anyone else get a Holocaust vibe as the group walked through the train door? And Abraham was kind of a downer. Rick: "You're our friends, too." Abraham: "For now" or something like that. Anyway, it gave Rick a reason to say, "No. They're going to feel awfully stupid. They're screwing with the wrong people." That's going to be a trendy saying soon.
I was too busy looking at the bullets hitting the ground to see the bones and flesh. So it's very safe to say cannibals.
It makes complete sense. A.) Hardly anyone at a sanctuary that was advertised on the radio and is right on a train track that people would likely use often as a guide, B.) It was too good to be true.
Very good!! Way better than the last season finale! Terminus place look like a nightmare!! For sure, they're cannibals! All that meat, and the bones. I am so excited to season 5!! Hurry up october!!
Loved it... from all the great flashbacks (sob Herschel...), to Rick going vampire/zombie on Joe, to the excellent Daryl/Rick and Michonne/Carl scenes to the hints that Terminus is the cannibal/hunter storyline from the comics.... can't wait to see Gareth(?) get his..... unfortunately that will have to wait til next season.... boo
They can only go so far being a TV show. I imagine though they might do like the game and show the aftermath with the person's leg or something already off.
Suddenly I feel like we're talking about Saw, and I've never watched that movie because it sounded too disturbing for me.
Im not sure why they put them together with their people, that seems like a dumb idea on their part unless they did so because it was the closest compartment. But if you go to this link: http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2014/03/the_walking_dead_season_4_finale_recap_rick_grimes_terminus.html
The 6th paragraph down the review mentions other people screaming for help in the compartments.
Regardless, this was an amazing season finale, Rick biting that guys jugular was by far my favorite part. Rick is a BAMF.
Could it be they didn't know they knew each other and just threw them with the other newest arrivals? It's not like the group told them the names of people they'd been with, they didn't know who else was alive.
Why are some people on sites mourning the fact that 'no one died' 'they was no loss' 'it wasn't brutal or dark enough'
Are people forgetting that episode was the one before where the show killed two young girls off. The show needs to have a finale with a little hope after that. How depressing to wait for more killings without a glimmer of survival.
I don't care either way. It just seems like a coincidence that we hear people shouting for help and Rick and the gang are tossed into the same train car with their friends. There certainly could be others being contained.
It's not like I'd try. I don't need to try, it happens. That is why I avoid horror movies. Plus, usually horror characters are stupid and I just get frustrated and yell at them for going into the creepy house, etc.
No. Though I ended up watching a cheaper horror film with some of my family when we had visitors over a few years ago that happened around a cabin in the woods.
I think it would be a very walking dead thing for them to do if in the season five premiere if it flashes back to show how Glenn and Maggie's group got put in the compartment and for some reason I think that when their group starts eating their first meal and realizes they're eating Beth somehow. That would mess Maggie up or sure.
In the comics its dale that gets bitten by a walker and he goes off to die cuz the rest of the group dont know hes been bite. Then the cannibals kidnap him and cut his leg off while hes still alive and eat it. He wakes in horror but starts laughing, he tells them hes tainted meat cause he was bit...its awesome.
Yes he is. He was introduced around the same time The Cannibals were in the comics. If you noticed the back of the car was a cross. Pretty sure that how they will introduce his character early in season 5.
From your lips to the writers ears. My thinking on Beth is that as "Tame" as this finale was the season 5 opener has got to be a "Shocker"! But you could be right, because the TV writers seem to "Mix - and - Match" stories and characters from the comic series with things turned around and a few changes thrown in. We'll have to wait until October.............someone should have their @$$ kicked for this! 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING INSTEAD OF RUNNING, I am still Nobody!!!
When Rick and Co. were being herded, they ran pass two stacked containers where you could hear people inside calling for help! That part along with the powdered milk was kind of creepy! 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING UNTIL OCTOBER, I am Nobody!!!
I do not need huge battles or death tolls every finale. I am one of the fans that enjoys the episodes with little to no walker action! This episode had some great moments and progressed the story amazingly....
That said.... When there has been days and days of "Who will live?" posters implying that some will die leading up to the finale only to have everyone live it feels like a bait and switch to me personally.
I kept waiting for the hammer to drop and it never did. That left me feeling like something was missing honestly.
I would suggest don't read spoilers. I barely come on boards until after an episode. I go in an episode blind except for watching the promo. I guessed on last episode no one was going to die. They need who they have for the next season. When you count how many have died together this season alone, that is enough of account.
I liked the juxtaposition of the peace at the prison compared to their life on the road and how it all related to Terminus.
The dispatching of the "Claimers" was intense! I think that scene was pure survival mode with a single purpose. Live! I do not see a real comparison between Rick biting out someone's throat to the cannibals (or walkers) like some do. In close combat with hands out of play one has to use every weapon at their disposal and Rick's teeth were the most dangerous weapon he had available in that scenario.
- Glad the gang is back together now!
I think the finale promotional campaign was very misleading and actually hindered my enjoyment of the finale!
The "Who will survive?" campaign should have been used for the beginning of Season 4 and not the Season 3 finale IMO. No one died so WTF would you use "Who will survive?" as the tagline?
I actually do not read spoilers, but I do look at posters... "Who will survive?" was their official promotional campaign and not spoilers gleaned from interviews or set reports etc.
I thought more was going to happen in this episode so I was expecting it to pick up with people arriving there but most of the episode was Rick & Co. getting there. I'm totally lost as to what is actually going on in Terminus - why did they put them all in a train car?
The speculation is that the residents at Terminus are cannibals and have been luring unwitting victims to their camp. I am in agreement. I believe that they are cannibals.
I have not read the comics, but I always thought some other entity took Beth - not the "Claimers" and not the cannibals at Terminus.
I would expect Terminus to not go out of their stronghold much, but if they do I would expect them to go in groups. We know the Claimers went in groups as well.
Whoever took Beth looked to be a lone operator driving that black car with a cross on it.
Someone with the name "Father Gabriel" would certainly fit the bill!
I've seen people speculating about that and it could be true, I just wish it had been clearer from the episode. I'm not familiar with the comic book characters and story-lines but from the comments I've seen I'm assuming that something like this happened in the comics.
I dont want Beth to die, but its the Walking Dead and I've just come to accept it haha. In the comics they meet Father Gabriel in the same time they meet the cannibles so it wouldn't surprise me. Although I would expect the TV show to put a big spin on his character like they've done with most of the comic stories.
My guess is that our group is in boxcar "A" but there is likely other survivors in other boxcars or holding cells of some kind. Maybe the Terminus cannibals age their stock? Eat the survivors that arrived first before they eat new arrivals. That way their stock is always at its freshest! XD
Ok I need to scrub my brain now for thinking like a cannibal.... Excuse me.
Yeah in the comics they specifically say they cooked the meat because after eating Dale and finding out he was bite they freak out about the affects it will have on them.
Only two possible ways: (i) eat them while still alive, as CP suggested (don't get me wrong, CP, I know you didn't really suggest it a viable diet option) or (ii) chop their heads off and eat the body (from as far as I can understand, and judging from Hershel's death, the head would turn, but the body wouldn't).
While the episode was a bit slower than some previous finales (although last year's was unbearingly slow and poorly written), it was a really well done finale. They did a lot of foreshadowing, like with Rick explaining the trap and how they funnel the people into a noose... much like the Terminus people did to Rick & Co. I'm looking forward to seeing them raise some hell on those damn Terminus bastards!
I'm curious how Tyreese and Carol will come into this, maybe show up and that's when Rick and everyone makes their move. And I'm guessing Beth was taken by someone else, most likely (and hopefully) it's Father Gabriel from the comics.
And welcome back Rick-tatorship Rick! He did what he had to since the odds were against them in that fight against the "claimers." What a way to take them out! Glad Daryl didn't side with them either, and the little heart-to-heart between Daryl and Rick, how they're brothers. Carl and Michonne's talk was really well done, illuminated a lot of where Michonne was at and where Carl is at now.
All in all, well done finale, if a bit tame compared to what we may have been expecting considering... cannibals. But this wait until October is going to be brutal!
I´m a little sad after the finale. Not neccessarily because of what happened, though I think going back to badass Rick is a little redundant. What really bothers me is, it feels like a mid-season finale instead of a season finale. No high stakes, no significance, like season 2 or 1.
They recall the old days at the prision as a message. When Rick put the sheriff hat in Beth. Mean's she will be the one who will safe them cos Hershall said "it will be alwys like this" I also think being inside the train will make them fall apart. Look at the way Glenn keep looking at Rick. I'm sure he will blame Rick for the death of Hearshall.
- I liked that Rick's group were skeptical about Terminus but what the hell was Rick's plan in case something went wrong? It seemed like they went in without an exit strategy and I didn't get why he just marched into that warehouse instead of getting more of an idea of what is going on. - I'm so glad that nobody died in this episode and that the season ended on a somewhat hopeful note.
Let's not forget that Rick was asking where they got the watch, riot gear, poncho... Where are our people?... Asking all that let them know these 4 belong to the new group we just put in "A" so let's guide them that way. One of them said something about keeping them away from "B".
As for how they keep the human flesh from turning, they might keep them alive and super drugged... play The Walking Dead game Season 1 Episode 2, or watch it on youtube.
A really solid finale. Not perfect, but really good. I wish we had just got a speck of an idea where Carol, Tyrese, Judith & Beth are. Was terrific seeing BadAss Rick back. His slaughter of the claimers was epic. Such raw survival instinct & father instinct in that scene. I also liked how they didnt have him just headbutt the guy off & instantly go on the attack. A shot rings out at your year, your not just turning around & going into fight mode. You see that scene & you can truly believe him when he says the final line that they picked the wrong group to mess with. I hope season 5 includes Carol telling 1 of the Terminus group to look at the flowers. It will be a tad disappointing now if she doesn't.
I've already heard the complaining about nothing happening, where were the deaths, etc. I was thrilled no major characters died. It's just so repetitive and does nothing to make the story more interesting or worthwhile.
The flashbacks were a little redundant, but I still liked seeing them. I liked the buildup to Rick changing who he was, that he didn't just magically become, "farmer Rick," as some derisively call him. And I know that that Rick is gone for good, which made the flashbacks bittersweet.
The fight scene was huge and incredibly harrowing. I was shocked that they nearly had Carl raped. And the jugular biting was something I'd never seen on a major TV show. Rick giving into the darkness, and accepting this, because it makes him strong, made me both proud and very scared for Rick. And the scenes with Daryl, Michonne, and Carl were all excellent, separately and together. I love these complex bonds.
The Terminus stuff didn't make as much of an impact on me (although I was sure Carl was going to be killed, which was awful), but I liked the cliffhanger. I thought it was a great way to go into the next season. I didn't feel let down. I didn't even mind that they made him say "screwed" instead of something more...colorful. It suited Rick.
All in all this and season 2 are the finales I will remember.
Amazing finale and I guessed it correctly. NO ONE major died. I do think we are in for at least some minor character deaths from the 'good guys' come next season's premiere. But I truly believe this was a great finale all the way around. Great flashbacks with Hershel, it was nice to see him for what will likely be the last time. That ending with Rick all badass, whoa, I can't wait to see what happens in the premiere. I hope they resolve the whole thing though in the premiere and not drag it out for a few episodes. The only thing I hated was not knowing for certain what happened with Beth.
I agree w/Jkem. Plus, when Rick and the others were running, they passed a huge pile of human bones/body parts. It was pretty gross. And there's the shrine-like funeral room w/the candles, names, and personal items. The words on the wall.
The Terminus folks are cannibals and up to no good!
That place is a cess pool though I post there on occasion. Some of the people there are just sick, and others were disappointed the Governor didn't rape Maggie/Michonne last year. Maybe it's b/c I'm a woman, but I don't need to see rape on a show to enjoy it or to verify that a person is evil.
The very first Saw is really good, but you do become emotionally invested in the people. The second one isn't that bad either, but I wouldn't recommend watching any after that point. Haha!
Horror is just not my thing. I've never liked the shows and movies that are completely about the horror element. If I watch a show with horror elements such as this show, it's because it's not too freaky and the main characters are worth watching for.
So thrilled to have been totally wrong -- no major characters lost, plus the restoration of Rick as a badass. Liked how they juxtaposed scenes of Rick becoming a farmer for the sake of Carl with scenes of Rick becoming a ruthless killing machine for the sake of Carl.
I find that TWD tends to do things a little too on-the-nose to make 110% sure we all "get" it (i.e., showing us the prison farm scenes to remind us of Rick's character arc; showing us the rabbit chute-snare scene to remind us that Terminus is likely a trap that functions the same way), but on the whole, really enjoying Scott Gimple's reign as showrunner. I'm hoping that his continuation into next season will lead to some very strong, consistent storylines that emphasize both action AND intentional character development. Still hoping Beth is okay. Also hoping Carol + Tyreese might play some role in rescuing our gang in the boxcar.
For the first time, I was disappointed by an episode of The Walking Dead. I feel like the episode was too short, things were wrapped too quickly, I mean, it took them like 2 minutes to understand what was going on with Terminus.. But fortunately, no one died, I thought one moment that Carl would when Rick, Michonne and Daryl were entering the wagon. Where were Beth, Sasha and Carol??? ._. AMC should really think about making TWD a 52 min show.
I took "Who survives" as in who will make it to Terminus. "Those who arrive survive" Some of the characters didn't make it to Terminus as far as we know at this point. i/e Tyrese, Carol, Judith, Beth... So one could play on words that they have yet to "survive". Just my two pennies.
I liked this episode. It was pretty intense at times. Darryl was awesome in this episode. At first I panicked a little when Joe's group caught up to Rick and Darryl wasn't there. But then when he did show up and tried to talk Joe out of doing anything to Rick and instead was willing and did take the beating, I thought that was sweet. Loved the conversation between Rick and Darryl, their whole exchange melted my heart. From Rick calling Darryl my brother. Also, you could tell that Darryl still carries guilt over Beth because when he talked about escaping with her and then her disappearing and Rick asking if she's dead, Darryl looked like he was about to cry. Liked Darryl basically telling Rick that killing that guy who was after Carl was ok, that he did what he had to do, etc. As for Carl, I give major props to Chandler for that scene with the creep. The kid is only 14 years old, and IMO a scene like that would be tough for anybody to film. So hats off to him, because I was freaking out a little that it wasn't going to end in time.
Rick buried the guns just outside the fence. That seems like his ace in the hole right now. I'm guessing Carl will somehow escape and get to the guns. This would show the juxtaposition of Dad saving son/Son saving Dad.
One thing I was disappointed in, was that Rick and Carl weren't reunited with Judith. I thought I read in an interview a little while ago, that at some point they were going to get reunited. Thinking they were going to be reunited, when Rick and Co. walked into the boxcar, I was expecting to hear a baby cry or after Glenn walked towards Rick, I was thinking Tyreese would come forward holding Judith. I did think it was weird that we never saw Tyreese, Carol, and Judith. I kind of thought everybody was going to get reunited, even Beth with each other.
I´m so happy to see Daryl back on team Rick. And it was good to see Rick being badass once more, it´s a lot more fun. I was so scared for Carl this whole episode, I´m glad he made it. I´m guessing that Carol and Tyresee are safe, but it would have been good to see Beth. Love the dynamic between Carl and Michonne, it is getting better in every episode. :-)
On the first season of Breaking Bad, Tuco, Jesse and Walt all used either f*ck or motherf*ck, but from season 2 onwards they suddenly stopped, except when they were forced to bleep it out.
That being said, I agree, they should've allowed him to drop the f-bomb at least once, but they would've bleeped it out regardless, as AMC doesn't condone heavy curse words anymore. And I guess "screwing" is better than "they're ****** with the wrong people". It wouldn't have a dramatic effect if they censored a part of the bad-ass line out :D
can anybody explain whose watch was that? Ant the pancho? What was it about? How Rick knew it were not their belongings? I'd be rather surprised by the huge pieces of meat, definitely not rabbit...Suspiciously big.
It was clear: -screams from the buildings -really big pieces of meat on the plates, no rabbit for sure -bones, ribcages in the comic books it was totally different, there was just a small group of cannibals, 6 people if I recall correctly, and they were hunting, on the move. Here we have whole community luring people into the trap.
The backpack was Bobby's, the poncho belonged to Maggie and the clock was passed on from Hershel to Glenn. Rick recognized all these things and thought the Terminus people killed the others and took it off them.
Interesting . . . . I have friends who feel this show is too gross for them and has way too many horror elements. I adore the horror genre and will pretty much watch any horror movie or television show that airs/comes outs. Haha! I also enjoy sci-fi/fantasy.
I learned about this show right before the mid-break premiere of the 2nd season. I caught the Pilot on AMC and was immediately hooked. A few weeks later, I watched the marathon that led up to "Nebraska" I believe. This type of show is right up my alley. Haha!
Yes & no - that episode gave us kind of a glimpse of what was going on at a federal level, which was "nothing at all, we're all screwed". So it did serve a bit of a purpose.
IIRC, the cannibals only "took what they needed" from their prey & kept them alive as long as they could (in the comics, that is - they took only a leg while keeping the character alive for future butchering)
"Interesting . . . . I have friends who feel this show is too gross for them and has way too many horror elements."
I've been a little desensitized over time to gross and scary thanks to Supernatural. Horror shows don't really creep me out anymore; most of the movies still do. It depends on what the movie is about. I'm not too creeped out by zombies. Ghosts, demons, and Saw type characters do, if it's constantly creepy like a horror movie. TV ghosts and demons are pretty tame.
This wasn't a finale. It was an episode before a finale. And wasn't very good.
Does anyone watch Rob Cesternino's Walking Dead Post Show Recap? Josh Wigler compared "A" to Lost's season 2 finale, "Live Together, Die Alone." Like Rick and gang, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are in the enemies' hands by episodes end, and "who are you people" is the question next season promises to answer.
Only that was Lost's B story. The main story centered around Desmond and the hatch, and answered the much anticipated question of "what happens if that button doesn't get pushed." The buildup before Desmond tells Locke "I think I crashed your plane" is totally worth it because the line packs such a punch.
I can't say the same for Rick's "they're screwing with the wrong people." The wait and soundtrack before the line hinted at him knowing something. "Here it comes, Rick has a master plan." And then he doesn't say anything, at all, helpful.
But even if I'm just comparing Lost's B story to Dead's only story, the Others are still far more compelling than the Terminus people. Gareth is a man I just met. Henry Gale I have history with. And to learn he's their leader? And he lets Michael and Walt leave the Island? There's more happening here.
I would compare "A" to season 4 episode 12 of Lost, "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1." Where's "A, Part 2 and 3"?
I'm curious. Did I miss something? Say the source material didn't exist, would there be any reason to conclude cannibalism? I'm picturing a person whom only watches the show and doesn't ever search The Walking Dead online. Was there a scene that made cannibalism obvious?
The most pointless guy...? You´ve obvisiously got no idea, what you are talking about and I won´t waste my time arguing with someone who just wants to argue for the sake of it.
just take your chill pill...this guy was pointless. He gave us nothing. Just that SOMETHING is causing desease, and the source is brain. They kind of already figured out that in order to kill a walker his head needs to be destroyed...So the news was no help. The only news was that everybody is infected. But wasting 40 minutes to deliver this news (that was revealed a whole season later) was stupid. They could have made it the way it was made in the comic.
I get that the finale wasn't for everyone, but the problem that I'm having with this comparison is that Lost and The Walking Dead are two very different shows. The hook with Lost, established in the Pilot, is "Where are we?" The mytharc for 6 seasons revolved around discovering what the island was and what it's purpose was. The Others were interesting because they seemed to have answers about the island, and the hatch was interesting because it also seemed to hold big clues.
The Walking Dead was never presented as a story about finding answers to a big mystery - but rather a show that explores questions like "what is the nature of humanity?", "what would people do when they've lost everything," "what does it mean to be alive?" Rick's comment at the end would have been weak if it was just another case of an alpha male on TV posturing. It was impactful because it's so out of character for Rick, and a sign that he's really embraced the darkness in himself that came out earlier in the episode. In The Walking Dead, Terminus, or the community they are in at the moment, is always the B story. The changes these characters undergo are the A story.
I can't say the same for Rick's "they're screwing with the wrong people." The wait and soundtrack before the line hinted at him knowing something. "Here it comes, Rick has a master plan." And then he doesn't say anything, at all, helpful.
The line was about a setup for the next season (and to show Rick's final progression into who he now is), so I don't think it was ever intended to be some big clue.
Jennfer was an interesting character, but if we're talking about the finale itself, there was no significance. He whispered in Rick's ear, the group got out because of a magical grenade Carol had stashed away, then everyone was fine in spite of being right next to a huge explosion. The only death was Jacqui, a character who barely even had a line in most episodes and who died just so they could say someone died.
Later on, Jenner's secret had an impact, although not really all that much, other than some drama at the end of season 2.
How well does it explore those questions? Are people really watching The Walking Dead to see how real people behave? Or to discover the true nature of humanity? That's the opposite of why I watch this show. Mindless entertainment, that's what I like about it. "Cool" sequences, visuals, and dialogue often take precedence over common sense, consistency, and how people really talk. But who cares? That's the fun of it.
Also, Lost asked those same questions. But again, it'd be silly to pretend that it had anything meaningful to say about them. I'm more interested in seeing a smoke monster confront Jack.
It was the buildup before the line that made me expect something more. He called the Terminus people stupid and then they did a "wait for it... wait for it.... wait for it..." and then he doesn't say why.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I could use another 10 minutes, at least :D
ReplyDeleteWhoa, Rick! That was gross and badass at the same time and was not expecting that at all.
ReplyDeleteI consider Michonne to be Carl's mom. She's doing a pretty good job at it so far.
At least (almost) everyone is finally reunited! Took them long enough. And I thought Rick finally had a plan, but looks like he's going to come up with one.
Great finale!
This honestly was one of the greatest hours of television of all time. Every scene was gripping and heartstopping. I loved every second of it. I cant fucking wait for season 5
ReplyDeleteawesome episode. really wanted rick to say "we are the walking dead" :)
ReplyDeleteThe ascension of Carl....
ReplyDeleteI like they did the scene with Michonne, so I wondering what will be the Rick and Abraham moment then.
So, it was truly Those who arrive, Survive!
That was an excellent episode! I loved every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rick bit Joe's neck . .
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what Rick's Great Escape plan is.
Disapointed about ending -_-
ReplyDeleteThey are cannibals...
ReplyDeleteThey're clearly cannibals
ReplyDeleteAh. I thought so.
ReplyDeleteI thought the ending was good.
ReplyDeleteI guess Rick has spent way too much time with walkers :D
ReplyDeleteMe too! I kept hearing that someone major was going to die, and I'm happy no one I cared about did (i.e., Rick, Daryl, Michonne).
ReplyDeleteThey were most definitely cannibals!
ReplyDeleteI wanted more then that
ReplyDeleteOhhhh god now we have too wait until october -_-
ReplyDeleteWhat did you want to see?
ReplyDeleteI don't know lol nvm il'll take my comment back lool
ReplyDeleteWonder how Carol and Tyrese are going to fit into all of this when the show returns.
ReplyDeleteFreaking awesome!! I have been waiting for the badass Rick to make a comeback and he did not disappoint at all, I loved this episode and I can not wait for season 5.
ReplyDeleteThey are screwing with the wrong people loveddd that line
ReplyDeleteThis honestly was one of the greatest hours of television of all time. Every scene was gripping and heartstopping. I loved every second of it. I cant fucking wait for season 5
ReplyDeleteMaybe they already ate them, haha :D Just kidding :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe people are voting awful. I thought this finale (and season 4B) was pretty damn great. I was nervous someone from the core group was going to die but thankfully no one didn't.
ReplyDeleteLoved the flashbacks at the prison with Hershel.
Not everyone. There's still Carol and Tyrese.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, they can help the group escape!
ReplyDeleteHahaha :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm thinking.
ReplyDeleteI think they were eating Beth, we'll find out in October.
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad Rick has turned into the bad-ass again and that last line was amazing. It was a really good episode, but we now have to wait till October.
ReplyDeleteI missed the leader Rick, but I also enjoyed his characters downfall, his journey spiralling out of control. This was the best 'picking himself up' I could have hoped for Rick. The greatest leaders are the ones who have searched their darkest corners and come back fighting for their ones they love. Welcome back Rick!
ReplyDeleteI have to wait until OCTOBER? Ack!
ReplyDeleteI knew that place was trouble. I wonder how Maggie, Glenn, and co ended up in the train box as well? What did they find out that got them there?
That's why I said "almost" everyone.
ReplyDeleteYes they are. I think most people figured that part out.
ReplyDeleteI don't follow the conversation here much, so I had no idea what others were thinking. Again, I only guessed based on a TWD game.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we have to wait until October for this! And don't even get me started about American Horror Story as well...
ReplyDeleteYou can tell by the dialogue of the residents of Terminus and there's a quick shot of human bones and flesh when Rick's group is running through Terminus.
ReplyDeleteSo, Breaking Bad used the "F" word many times throughout its run. On AMC. Why couldn't Rick say it just this once?
ReplyDeleteTerminus is a "Cannibal Stronghold".................the writers gave us "Easter Egg" clues that revealed the cannibal theme.
ReplyDelete1) Rick's "Flashbacks" about planting crops and raising livestock ie: need of a food source.
ReplyDeleteWow, that´s actually good point. Hope they don´t eat them alive :(
ReplyDeleteI've been scratching my head over this. How does cannibalism work in this situation? But it has to be terrible I guess.
ReplyDeleteHope they´ll explain it to us. But it is very good point :)
ReplyDeleteLoveeeeeed It! Scott Gimple has saved this show!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone else hear someone yelling 'Help!' when the group was running through Terminus looking for a way out? I heard someone yell it like three times...
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. It was a moment that needed that added gravitas of "fucking."
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was Maggie and the others.
ReplyDeleteRick was something of a cannibal himself, in the beginning there.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it was meant to be analogy to the Walkers, right?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until October! I hate that we have to wait so long for the new season!
ReplyDeleteI was too busy looking at the bullets hitting the ground to see the bones and flesh. So it's very safe to say cannibals.
ReplyDeleteIt makes complete sense. A.) Hardly anyone at a sanctuary that was advertised on the radio and is right on a train track that people would likely use often as a guide, B.) It was too good to be true.
And they were intentionally shooting off aim. They were trying to round them up like cattle.
ReplyDeleteAw man, that would make sense, but that would suck. So...you're probably most definitely right.
ReplyDeleteThat too.
ReplyDeleteIn the Walking Dead Kindle game that's exactly what the cannibal characters did. They chopped the guy's leg off, left him alive and ate the leg.
ReplyDeleteIf they cook it quick they'd be all set, I'd think.
ReplyDeleteVery good!! Way better than the last season finale! Terminus place look like a nightmare!! For sure, they're cannibals! All that meat, and the bones. I am so excited to season 5!! Hurry up october!!
ReplyDeleteI dont think so, it was before they got close to Maggie and Glenn and the others, back before they passed those bones.
ReplyDeleteLoved it... from all the great flashbacks (sob Herschel...), to Rick going vampire/zombie on Joe, to the excellent Daryl/Rick and Michonne/Carl scenes to the hints that Terminus is the cannibal/hunter storyline from the comics.... can't wait to see Gareth(?) get his..... unfortunately that will have to wait til next season.... boo
ReplyDeleteCould be. Seems kind of a coincidence that Rick and the others would be thrown in with their friends when they have others holed up somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteI rather not see that, I can take almost everything, but that I don´t think so :(
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess they try to keep some weight on their victims by feeding powdered milk.
ReplyDeleteCould be someone they're er....preparing for slaughter.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they always put the newest arrivals together.
Me neither.
ReplyDeleteWonder if they would cross this line. I don´t think so, but you never know with this show :D
ReplyDeleteThey can only go so far being a TV show. I imagine though they might do like the game and show the aftermath with the person's leg or something already off.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly I feel like we're talking about Saw, and I've never watched that movie because it sounded too disturbing for me.
I was just thinking about that movie too and I saw it :D
ReplyDeleteIm not sure why they put them together with their people, that seems like a dumb idea on their part unless they did so because it was the closest compartment. But if you go to this link: http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2014/03/the_walking_dead_season_4_finale_recap_rick_grimes_terminus.html
ReplyDeleteThe 6th paragraph down the review mentions other people screaming for help in the compartments.
ReplyDeleteYou're braver than me. I couldn't watch because I get too invested in TV characters and feel too much empathy. I'd hurt physically watching it.
ReplyDeleteI do that sometimes too, but not with horror movies. I would end up like a wreck :D
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the powdered milk either. But that is classic, fatting them up before eating them.
ReplyDeleteWhy are some people on sites mourning the fact that
ReplyDelete'no one died'
'they was no loss'
'it wasn't brutal or dark enough'
Are people forgetting that episode was the one before where the show killed two young girls off. The show needs to have a finale with a little hope after that. How depressing to wait for more killings without a glimmer of survival.
I don't care either way. It just seems like a coincidence that we hear people shouting for help and Rick and the gang are tossed into the same train car with their friends. There certainly could be others being contained.
ReplyDeleteIt's not like I'd try. I don't need to try, it happens. That is why I avoid horror movies. Plus, usually horror characters are stupid and I just get frustrated and yell at them for going into the creepy house, etc.
ReplyDeleteSo much to speculate on! Haha October is too damn far away...
ReplyDeleteThat´s true :D Have you seen The Cabin in the woods? It pretty much mocks everything about horror movies :D
ReplyDeleteYeah, when he bit the guy it was just like a Walker would. Scary.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rick looks down on the ground and spots packages of powdered milk and paper plates.
ReplyDeleteNah Beth was NOT taken by the Hunters/Cannibal. I'm pretty sure she was taken by Father Gabriel.
ReplyDeletePlus it's likely at least one person will die when the group tries to escape/fight/take over Terminus.
ReplyDeleteWAY too far.
ReplyDeleteNo. Though I ended up watching a cheaper horror film with some of my family when we had visitors over a few years ago that happened around a cabin in the woods.
ReplyDeleteWho is Father Gabriel? A comic character? (I haven't read the comics).
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a very walking dead thing for them to do if in the season five premiere if it flashes back to show how Glenn and Maggie's group got put in the compartment and for some reason I think that when their group starts eating their first meal and realizes they're eating Beth somehow. That would mess Maggie up or sure.
ReplyDeleteIn the comics its dale that gets bitten by a walker and he goes off to die cuz the rest of the group dont know hes been bite. Then the cannibals kidnap him and cut his leg off while hes still alive and eat it. He wakes in horror but starts laughing, he tells them hes tainted meat cause he was bit...its awesome.
ReplyDeleteYes he is. He was introduced around the same time The Cannibals were in the comics. If you noticed the back of the car was a cross. Pretty sure that how they will introduce his character early in season 5.
ReplyDeleteFrom your lips to the writers ears.
ReplyDeleteAs Barney would say, that was freaking LEGEND-Rick is a bad ass and completely killed it with that bite -DARY!
ReplyDeleteWhen Rick and Co. were being herded, they ran pass two stacked containers where you could hear people inside calling for help! That part along with the powdered milk was kind of creepy! 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING UNTIL OCTOBER, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteI do not need huge battles or death tolls every finale. I am one of the fans that enjoys the episodes
ReplyDeletewith little to no walker action!
Terminus people, look at the freaking flowers, because Carol is coming.
ReplyDeleteAh. I have high hopes now.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest don't read spoilers. I barely come on boards until after an episode. I go in an episode blind except for watching the promo. I guessed on last episode no one was going to die. They need who they have for the next season. When you count how many have died together this season alone, that is enough of account.
ReplyDeleteIt's possible it's her but someone suggested a comic character took her (Gabriel) and I hope they're right.
ReplyDeleteDid they cook it?
ReplyDeleteBoth in the kindle game and on the show cooking seems to prevent getting turned by eating people.
Great finale!
ReplyDeleteI liked the juxtaposition of the peace at the prison compared to their life on the road and how it all related to Terminus.
ReplyDelete"Who will survive?" was their official promotional campaign and not spoilers gleaned from interviews or set reports etc.
I thought more was going to happen in this episode so I was expecting it to pick up with people arriving there but most of the episode was Rick & Co. getting there. I'm totally lost as to what is actually going on in Terminus - why did they put them all in a train car?
ReplyDeleteReading comments about the posters I see were your coming from. I didn't even know they was posters out.
ReplyDeleteThe speculation is that the residents at Terminus are cannibals and have been luring unwitting victims to their camp. I am in agreement. I believe that they are cannibals.
ReplyDeleteI have not read the comics, but I always thought some other entity took Beth - not the "Claimers" and not the cannibals at Terminus.
ReplyDeleteI would expect Terminus to not go out of their stronghold much, but if they do I would expect them to go in groups.
ReplyDeleteShe's in Washington. We found out when she found that spoon.
ReplyDeletehope Carol comes to Terminus and makes them all look at the flowers!!!
ReplyDeleteYep.
ReplyDeleteEach charactr had their own psoter. You can see them in the SpilerTV Photo Archive here:
http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/images/the-walking-dead/Season%204/Promotional%20Episode%20Photos/Episode%204.16%20-%20A/Season%204%20Finale%20-%20New%20Posters%20and%20Promotional%20Photos/
I think it was pretty clear. There was plenty of discussion about food or lack thereof leading up to their arrival at Terminus.
ReplyDeleteI dont want Beth to die, but its the Walking Dead and I've just come to accept it haha. In the comics they meet Father Gabriel in the same time they meet the cannibles so it wouldn't surprise me. Although I would expect the TV show to put a big spin on his character like they've done with most of the comic stories.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that our group is in boxcar "A" but there is likely other survivors in other boxcars or holding cells of some kind. Maybe the Terminus cannibals age their stock? Eat the survivors that arrived first before they eat new arrivals. That way their stock is always at its freshest! XD
ReplyDeleteOk I need to scrub my brain now for thinking like a cannibal.... Excuse me.
Yeah in the comics they specifically say they cooked the meat because after eating Dale and finding out he was bite they freak out about the affects it will have on them.
ReplyDeleteOnly two possible ways: (i) eat them while still alive, as CP suggested (don't get me wrong, CP, I know you didn't really suggest it a viable diet option) or (ii) chop their heads off and eat the body (from as far as I can understand, and judging from Hershel's death, the head would turn, but the body wouldn't).
ReplyDeleteAnd Beth.
ReplyDeleteI'm more hoping the priest, Gabriel, picked her up, as not a lot of people are guessing that, plus it involves Beth being alive.
ReplyDeleteWhile the episode was a bit slower than some previous finales (although last year's was unbearingly slow and poorly written), it was a really well done finale. They did a lot of foreshadowing, like with Rick explaining the trap and how they funnel the people into a noose... much like the Terminus people did to Rick & Co. I'm looking forward to seeing them raise some hell on those damn Terminus bastards!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how Tyreese and Carol will come into this, maybe show up and that's when Rick and everyone makes their move.
ReplyDeleteThey recall the old days at the prision as a message.
ReplyDeleteEpisodes like this are the reason why I watch.
ReplyDelete- I liked that Rick's group were skeptical about Terminus but what the hell was Rick's plan in case something went wrong? It seemed like they went in without an exit strategy and I didn't get why he just marched into that warehouse instead of getting more of an idea of what is going on.
ReplyDelete- I'm so glad that nobody died in this episode and that the season ended on a somewhat hopeful note.
"I think the finale promotional campaign was very misleading and actually hindered my enjoyment of the finale!"
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. It was very misleading and i was mentally prepared for someone to die. I freaked out a little when they showed all the stuff being worn by other people but I'm just glad that nobody died.
Let's not forget that Rick was asking where they got the watch, riot gear, poncho... Where are our people?... Asking all that let them know these 4 belong to the new group we just put in "A" so let's guide them that way. One of them said something about keeping them away from "B".
ReplyDeleteAs for how they keep the human flesh from turning, they might keep them alive and super drugged... play The Walking Dead game Season 1 Episode 2, or watch it on youtube.
The finale was decent but I kinda expected to see more of Terminus.
ReplyDeleteTh
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit anticlimatic. It felt pretty short to me.
ReplyDeleteBut Rick killing those guys was... intense...
I didn't feel a lot of significance in season 1 to be honest.
ReplyDeleteA really solid finale. Not perfect, but really good.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had just got a speck of an idea where Carol, Tyrese, Judith & Beth are.
'Greatest hours of television of all time' - are you mad??
ReplyDeleteI've already heard the complaining about nothing happening, where were the deaths, etc. I was thrilled no major characters died. It's just so repetitive and does nothing to make the story more interesting or worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteThe flashbacks were a little redundant, but I still liked seeing them.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/Jkem. Plus, when Rick and the others were running, they passed a huge pile of human bones/body parts. It was pretty gross. And there's the shrine-like funeral room w/the candles, names, and personal items. The words on the wall.
ReplyDeleteThe Terminus folks are cannibals and up to no good!
Where did you go? IMDb?
ReplyDeleteThat place is a cess pool though I post there on occasion. Some of the people there are just sick, and others were disappointed the Governor didn't rape Maggie/Michonne last year. Maybe it's b/c I'm a woman, but I don't need to see rape on a show to enjoy it or to verify that a person is evil.
I thought it was a great episode.
Oh. . . . good point! That's probably what they will do!
ReplyDeleteOctober needs to get here now! Haha!
Sounds horrifying!
ReplyDeleteThe very first Saw is really good, but you do become emotionally invested in the people. The second one isn't that bad either, but I wouldn't recommend watching any after that point. Haha!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty awesome! Serves those dirty cannibals right!
ReplyDeleteYep. And another analogy, the group keeps walking, just like the walkers.
ReplyDeleteHorror is just not my thing. I've never liked the shows and movies that are completely about the horror element. If I watch a show with horror elements such as this show, it's because it's not too freaky and the main characters are worth watching for.
ReplyDeletei think the actual "Walking Dead" are the people that are "alive."
ReplyDeleteSo thrilled to have been totally wrong -- no major characters lost, plus the restoration of Rick as a badass. Liked how they juxtaposed scenes of Rick becoming a farmer for the sake of Carl with scenes of Rick becoming a ruthless killing machine for the sake of Carl.
ReplyDeleteI find that TWD tends to do things a little too on-the-nose to make 110% sure we all "get" it (i.e., showing us the prison farm scenes to remind us of Rick's character arc; showing us the rabbit chute-snare scene to remind us that Terminus is likely a trap that functions the same way), but on the whole, really enjoying Scott Gimple's reign as showrunner. I'm hoping that his continuation into next season will lead to some very strong, consistent storylines that emphasize both action AND intentional character development. Still hoping Beth is okay. Also hoping Carol + Tyreese might play some role in rescuing our gang in the boxcar.
Then you must have seen a different season. How about Jenner for example?
ReplyDeleteFor the first time, I was disappointed by an episode of The Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the episode was too short, things were wrapped too quickly, I mean, it took them like 2 minutes to understand what was going on with Terminus.. But fortunately, no one died, I thought one moment that Carl would when Rick, Michonne and Daryl were entering the wagon.
Where were Beth, Sasha and Carol??? ._.
AMC should really think about making TWD a 52 min show.
It did feel short but I liked it.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Sasha was in the boxcar with everyone else.
Who the heck is Gabriel?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Sasha was standing either next to or slightly behind Bob in the boxcar.
ReplyDeleteI took "Who survives" as in who will make it to Terminus. "Those who arrive survive" Some of the characters didn't make it to Terminus as far as we know at this point. i/e Tyrese, Carol, Judith, Beth... So one could play on words that they have yet to "survive". Just my two pennies.
ReplyDeleteI liked this episode. It was pretty intense at times.
ReplyDeleteDarryl was awesome in this episode.
Good point, but not how I took it I guess.
ReplyDeleteRick buried the guns just outside the fence. That seems like his ace in the hole right now. I'm guessing Carl will somehow escape and get to the guns. This would show the juxtaposition of Dad saving son/Son saving Dad.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I was disappointed in, was that Rick and Carl weren't reunited with Judith. I thought I read in an interview a little while ago, that at some point they were going to get reunited.
ReplyDeleteThinking they were going to be reunited, when Rick and Co. walked into the boxcar, I was expecting to hear a baby cry or after Glenn walked towards Rick, I was thinking Tyreese would come forward holding Judith.
ReplyDeleteI´m guessing that Carol and Tyresee are safe, but it would have been good to see Beth.
Love the dynamic between Carl and Michonne, it is getting better in every episode. :-)
He's a priest they meet in the comics who they meet around the time they encounter the cannibals and the comic-version of Joe's group.
ReplyDeleteOn the first season of Breaking Bad, Tuco, Jesse and Walt all used either f*ck or motherf*ck, but from season 2 onwards they suddenly stopped, except when they were forced to bleep it out.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I agree, they should've allowed him to drop the f-bomb at least once, but they would've bleeped it out regardless, as AMC doesn't condone heavy curse words anymore.
ReplyDeleteyeah, they should have made 2hour episode. Id did not have the vibe of the last ep. of the season.
ReplyDelete"An entire year"? What are you talking about?
ReplyDeleteyeah, the most pointless guy in the show...that episode was a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteIt was clear:
ReplyDelete-screams from the buildings
-really big pieces of meat on the plates, no rabbit for sure
-bones, ribcages
in the comic books it was totally different, there was just a small group of cannibals, 6 people if I recall correctly, and they were hunting, on the move. Here we have whole community luring people into the trap.
The backpack was Bobby's, the poncho belonged to Maggie and the clock was passed on from Hershel to Glenn. Rick recognized all these things and thought the Terminus people killed the others and took it off them.
ReplyDeleteI was exaggerating! Haha! October feels like a year away though. I want the show back in a month or two!
ReplyDeleteInteresting . . . . I have friends who feel this show is too gross for them and has way too many horror elements. I adore the horror genre and will pretty much watch any horror movie or television show that airs/comes outs. Haha! I also enjoy sci-fi/fantasy.
ReplyDeleteI learned about this show right before the mid-break premiere of the 2nd season. I caught the Pilot on AMC and was immediately hooked. A few weeks later, I watched the marathon that led up to "Nebraska" I believe. This type of show is right up my alley. Haha!
Yep. And another analogy, the group keeps walking, just like the walkers.
ReplyDeleteYes & no - that episode gave us kind of a glimpse of what was going on at a federal level, which was "nothing at all, we're all screwed". So it did serve a bit of a purpose.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, "everyone" is a perfect valid answer to the promotional campaign's question.
ReplyDeleteIIRC, the cannibals only "took what they needed" from their prey & kept them alive as long as they could (in the comics, that is - they took only a leg while keeping the character alive for future butchering)
ReplyDeleteI keep envisioning Negan & his collection of lingerie women... I'm not expecting it to be what happened, though, but who knows?
ReplyDeleteI never noticed the cross!! Well, now that gets the ol' brain thinking... and I'm even more eager for next season :)
ReplyDeleteI made a quick rush to judgment saying it was one of the greatest episodes on television but i still think it was a pretty great episode
ReplyDelete"Interesting . . . . I have friends who feel this show is too gross for them and has way too many horror elements."
ReplyDeleteI've been a little desensitized over time to gross and scary thanks to Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone watch Rob Cesternino's Walking Dead Post Show Recap?
ReplyDeleteThe most pointless guy...? You´ve obvisiously got no idea, what you are talking about and I won´t waste my time arguing with someone who just wants to argue for the sake of it.
ReplyDeletejust take your chill pill...this guy was pointless.
ReplyDeleteI get that the finale wasn't for everyone, but the problem that I'm having with this comparison is that Lost and The Walking Dead are two very different shows. The hook with Lost, established in the Pilot, is "Where are we?" The mytharc for 6 seasons revolved around discovering what the island was and what it's purpose was. The Others were interesting because they seemed to have answers about the island, and the hatch was interesting because it also seemed to hold big clues.
ReplyDeleteThe Walking Dead was never presented as a story about finding answers to a big mystery - but rather a show that explores questions like "what is the nature of humanity?", "what would people do when they've lost everything," "what does it mean to be alive?" Rick's comment at the end would have been weak if it was just another case of an alpha male on TV posturing. It was impactful because it's so out of character for Rick, and a sign that he's really embraced the darkness in himself that came out earlier in the episode. In The Walking Dead, Terminus, or the community they are in at the moment, is always the B story. The changes these characters undergo are the A story.
Exactly. Are we really saying the episode sucked because it wasn't like Lost?
ReplyDeleteI can't say the same for Rick's "they're screwing with the wrong people." The wait and soundtrack before the line hinted at him knowing something. "Here it comes, Rick has a master plan." And then he doesn't say anything, at all, helpful.
ReplyDeleteThe line was about a setup for the next season (and to show Rick's final progression into who he now is), so I don't think it was ever intended to be some big clue.
ReplyDeleteLater on, Jenner's secret had an impact, although not really all that much, other than some drama at the end of season 2.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Lost asked those same questions.
