Mikael is just the ultimate vampire ever, with Elijah coming a close second. Loved his vamp face reveal (seriously, we know Elijah since TVD season 2 and haven't seen his vamp face until tonight). Marcel can go and die, I just can't get myself to care for him.
Loved Thierry returning and kinda redeeming himself to the others, glad he's still alive (I hope)
RIP Celeste, that scene with Elijah stabbing her was god damn creepy.
personal favourites:
- Mikaels opera scene, god that was perfection. Just as creepy as anyone would've guessed.
- Elijah vs. Mikael...'I will ALWAYS chose him'. Brilliant
- the final Nibekjah flashback, I almost teared up.
best The Originals episode ever... and 1x16 will be also shocking and exciting because Elijah will reveal a dark, family secret. (I do not know what..)
You know what i missed the entire episode!! I was busy getting a call back to be on TV!!!! i'm so happy!! But i'll have to re-watch the episode then leave a comment later.
- I always hoped that we'd get an official flashback since we first heard about Mikael showing up and the siblings ultimately fleeing the city. It was nice to see him back; Sebastian Roche was brilliant as him.
- The curtain opening at the opera was sufficiently creepy and in true Mikaelson fashion.
- Davina never grew on me so I couldn't care less that she's back. It was nice pacing without her.
- Can't wait to see how Elijah plans to subdue Klaus from killing Rebekah until they can all get out. The vampire faces was a nice touch to end the episode.
BEST EPISODE OF THE SERIES SOFAR! If it had crossover with TVD this week............that would have been INSANE and the blogs would be on fire! Of the "Diaries Franchise" The Original Series is now my favorite (no spoilers)! 4 THEORIGINALS, THE REPEATS, AND ALL THE COPIES, I am still Nobody!!!
Well, it didn't look like Klaus was trying to destroy Rebekah's happiness to me - I don't know why she always says he did. She brought Mikael on herself. Where was Kol in all this?
It was nice to have Mikael back and we did see why Klaus & Rebekah went one way and ended up in Chicago in 1922 while Elijah went another way. Although it did seem like Marcel was really after power (to me) and put that ahead of Rebekah.
I did like that Elijah was the one to kill Celeste (hopefully for good) and that Monique realized that Celeste wasn't doing this for the witches and she only cared about herself. I hope that what she gave Hayley will work though.
Is it me, or are Klaus and Elijah in a shaky bromance? Elijah is playing both sides of the fence, protecting Rebekah for the moment, but he could easily turn on her in a different situation. They are only getting along because Rebekah isn't a threat to Elijah's current love interest. He should have been more irritated that she let Marcel put her in danger just for Davina's body. I am tired of both of those characters. They'll probably only be used as plot devices by the writers until the end of the season. Once Davina becomes a normal witch, I'm pretty sure she's as disposable as Marcel. People want her back now, but she'll probably eventually become one of those character deaths that people harass Julie Plec about.
I thought it was interesting that even though he planned to kill Celeste, Elijah still protected her by only referring to her as Sabine to anyone who might not know who she is. Elijah definitely loved Celeste, and I think Celeste was right about Elijah failing yet again to kiss Hayley because he doesn't love her enough. He's had plenty of time to be with her, yet he keeps pushing her away and using Klaus as an excuse. It's obvious from the flashbacks that Klaus doesn't kill everyone his siblings fall in love with, nor is he responsible for all of their deaths. He actually tried to SAVE Marcel, and Rebekah will never know it or believe it. If only Klaus would tell Elijah what Hayley is capable of, any pain and suffering could be avoided.
Since Monique said that Celeste was lying, then Monique must have been doing the spell Elijah gave her while Elijah was questioning Celeste about her cure for the crescent moon curse. It must mean that the wolves won't be cured. Someone else will have to figure out how to lift the curse, with Marcel working against them. Elijah will probably get blamed, although maybe not by Hayley, because he killed Celeste.
I loved the Klaus and Cami interactions. If that last conversation didn't prove that there won't be a relationship between those two, I don't know what would. It seemed like Cami was trying to give Klaus a window, whether or not it was partly to stop him from killing his sister, but Klaus wasn't having it. Either he's got a girlfriend no one knows about or he's going for celibacy for the rest of the year. He appeared to have moved on, and it looked like he was very interested in Cami before, but that ship has definitely sailed. He thinks of her as his annoying psychiatrist. When Cami asked Klaus if he knows what it's like to lose a sibling, was I the only one wondering if he was going to mention all of the brothers he lost in Mystic Falls, particularly Kol? The look on his face made me wonder if he was thinking it. Then he just looked disgusted with Cami. It was weird. You'd think that after being reminded that he's lost so many siblings already, Klaus would calm down, but he still went after Rebekah. Also weird. The guy must be crazy.
Mikael was no surprise, just the usual abusive father looking to assert his dominance over his children, only Mikael was an Original vampire so innocent people got caught in the middle. I got the impression that Elijah's story with Mikael might not have ended with the night of the fire. Personally, I think Elijah might have crossed paths with Mikael again after he separated from his siblings, but probably not on purpose. I've wondered about this since it was revealed that Mikael drove them out of the city. We know now how they got separated, but where did Elijah go? Did something happen that's a story worth telling?
The fire was at the opera. Kol was probably in a coffin in the basement of the mansion. Rebekah was hesitant to set Genevieve up with Kol right away because that would mean pulling his dagger out.
He gave Katherine the same forehead kiss when he dumped her. So I hope this means he's letting her go (just like he did Katherine). Or at least that's what I'm hoping because they were such similar scenes.
Just a question... How is it that Klaus had the coffins with Kol and Finn? He and Rebekah left pretty quickly and Klaus hadn't gone back there since. The only explanation is that Elijah took the coffins but then why would he give them to Klaus? And I'm assuming this was the last time they were all together until TVD (This is 1919 and we know that in 1922 it's still just Klaus and Rebekah) so how did he get the coffins?
That is what it looks like. The problem is, Hayley is still carrying Klaus' baby. She is going to be in Elijah's life and they'll have to work out what kind of relationship will be had, if any.
I agree. Mikael was one of my least favorite characters, but I always love to see the flashbacks on this show. They never disappoint.
There are no words for how disappointed I was to see Marcel get Davina's body. The show really is better without her. She's served her purpose as a character, as far as I'm concerned. I don't know why there has to be an encore.
I loved the vampire faces, even though it looks like they'll argue as much as or more than they'll actually fight. Despite the nefarious intentions behind it this time, I think locking all three of them together and forcing them to have it out will put them all in a place where they can understand who and where they are as a family. The characters needed to be put in this situation to put an end to the endless pattern of betrayal and secrets that probably would have doomed the show otherwise.
We saw Klaus arrive in Mystic Falls with only an empty coffin meant for Elijah later on. Just because you don't see the coffins, it doesn't mean they're not around. I guess we're looking at a plot hole that the writers would probably explain away as, "Klaus and Rebekah stopped and picked up the coffins on their way out of the city and no one mentioned it."
Elijah hooking up with Hayley while she's pregnant with his brother's child is just gross to me. I've really been hoping the show didn't cross the line. The Celeste & Hayley situations are totally different.
It's been obvious to me that Klaus doesn't go around killing all of his siblings love interests for a while. He obviously was okay with Marcel and Rebekah after a while, he was fine with Rebekah being with Stefan, he was also fine with Rebekah being with Matt. I think he'd kill a love interest that was trying to kill him (or his family members) though out of self-preservation (ie Alexander in 1114).
I also wish Klaus had told Camille that he already lost three bothers (Finn, Kol & Henrik) and that all his paternal half-siblings were killed by Mikael (along with his biological father).
Klaus slept with Caroline pretty recently so he might be good. I don't think he's that interested in Cami. I think there's a better chance that he might hook-up with Genvieve if she doesn't wind up dead soon.
She doesn't have to be. If Elijah & Klaus are on the outs and Klaus decides to go be with the werewolves instead and Hayley also prefers to be with the werewolves both Hayley & Klaus could decide to live amongst their own kind and Elijah, Rebekah & Marcel will continue to live at the vampire compound with theirs. I think a vampire-werewolf divide could be coming.
I think Klaus just carts all of them around all the time even if they're empty. Although what I still don't get is how he got his mother sealed inside of one of them. The coffins they had in the flashback when the arrived in NO were totally different than the ones he has now. So when did he dig up Esther and have her sealed in a coffin? And why did Elijah & Rebekah not know about it?
Well klaus has hurt her There's no denying that I can understand why she would fire back but luring mikael to them just was not a good way to do it even if there was no other way as for marcel he is power hungry IMO that is his biggest flaw and maybe he doesn't fully realize it but he thinks klaus is the definition of power hungry and doesn't want to be like klaus.
What I meant was we know Klaus always has the coffins near him so how did he manage to get them out of New Orleans when he had to leave so unexpectedly because we know he has them further down the line. I know they're there, that's the problem. How did they get there?
Are you kidding me? They ended it like that? That was intense I was all into that. Celeste is a bitch, she needs to die!! Yay! Davina's back. And my Haylijah heart is broken. Great episode.
this episode was undoubtedly the best episode of the season so far.the flashback scenes were exceptional, especially the opera sequence.Mikael and elijah were at their best.Expecting more from the next episode.
To see how Michael chased the three siblings. Glad it turned out so epic and normally I'm not too fond of the flashbacks but this is my favourite episode so far.
Wow wow wow if only all TO episodes were like that. So much epicness. elijah was really scary this episode. I take back all my disappointment in him, the way he stood by Klaus in flashback even despite being threatened with white oak is so touching. elijah vamping out so much. I loved it, i am going to be rewatching all h is scenes over and over again. Feel bad for Celeste, she brought in on herself but still elijah was down right terrifying when he was coming after her. I guess no one messes with his two most loved siblings and survives. and Klaus is so amazing, he held onto his humanity until 1919, poor baby. He gave a chance to Rebeka but too late, they already took the matter in their own hands. irony is a bitch. Mikale is portrayed completely without any nice characteristics, his hatred of Niklaus even before he found out the truth is still left unexplained. Sorry i am so overrun wit emotions right now, will post something more coherent later.
I also think that Klaus will be spending more time with the werewolves soon. I'm not sure if it will be a divide, though. I think someone will attempt to bring everyone together the same way Klaus did right before Mikael showed up. I read that Elijah will harass Klaus a little about not helping his family keep control of the city. I have a feeling that Klaus' priorities will change after next week's episode. Elijah might end up all alone in that compound, since he was the only one who wanted to be back in New Orleans to begin with.
Actually, Mikael despised Klaus more than his other children because Klaus was the product of his wife's betrayal, an "abomination" in his eyes. Every time he looked at Klaus, all he saw was the memories of her cheating on him.
What did Celeste tell Elijah and what did he reply in French? Elijah was stronger than mikael in flashback, which makes it even dumber that the three of them couldn't finish Mikael at the opera together and they even had the weapon to do so.and why mikael was more interested in feeding onMarcel than finally finishing klaus after chasing him for 900 years? I wonder what happened to Elijah and Mikael after Klaus/Rebekah left. What did Mikael tell Elijah that drove him away from Klaus, or maybe they made a deal that as long as Elijah stays away Mikael won't kill Klaus? I forgot to mention how terrible i felt for the werewolf queen. poor thing i hope she was dead when Mikael impaled her on that thing. how come she is black and Hayley is not at all? Different branches of the same family tree?
You know, I was sad when Davina died but not overly upset. Now that she is back I realized that I didn't end up missing her much. I don't think her death and comeback hit as hard as they planned.
I agree, I would have liked for Klaus to mention the brothers he already lost. I wonder if the decision to leave that out has to do with the new fans that don't know the whole TVD backstory. Either way I think they could have brought it up even if they didn't explain it all. Just a quick "I have lost brothers; I know pain" would have helped him connect with Cami.
I think we know he always has possession of them but not necessarily sitting in the basement downstairs. If he doesn't want Elijah and Rebekah to get their hands on them maybe they were in another location out of town. When he went to MF he had the one, the others came later. He probably has some other vamps compelled to deliver them whenever he wants!
I assumed it was because of his wifes betrayal. Also, that Klaus is half wolf. If I remember correctly the humans lived near but separate from the wolfs when the family first came to the USA. I was under the impression that they thought the wolfs were lesser and beneath them.
lmao, right?? like wth!! I swear i was not paying attention to the time, my eyes were GLUED to the tv, all of a sudden it all went to black, i screamed, nooooooooo!!! lol
I'm not upset. I'm just heartbroken. It was sad, and you could see it in both their eyes that they didn't want to say goodbye. I was hoping he'd kiss her, but he gave her a passionate gentle kiss on her forehead, which was good enough for me. Then Celeste with her big ass mouth just totally ruined the moment. I was all, STFU! Lmao
We got that flashback episode in Season 3 to when they were human and Elijah & Klaus were sword-fighting for fun and Mikael went off on Klaus (even though Elijah was doing the exact same thing) about how there was no time for fun and he was too impulsive and it was a miracle he was still alive.
I really wish they'd left it hanging with the sabine/celeste whole story.. it would have been nice if they'd did like she said.. where he'd be forever wondering if whatever woman he happens to be with was her or not....I was really hoping they weren't going to kill her off...
I think MIkael fed on Marcel because he knew how much Klaus cared for Marcel and that it would upset Klaus. Mikael wanted to dominate Klaus as much as, or possibly more than, he wanted to kill him. That's usually the case with child abusers. Mikael wanted to show off his power and make Klaus feel powerless.
The werewolf packs probably went through a power shift and a new family became royalty when the werewolf queen died. That or, as I suspected a long time ago, Hayley is being used. Her type of manipulation might be genetic.
I think Elijah went back to save Marcel. He always did want to be the one to save his family.
But it was not a goobye kiss, it was not even a season finale so we won't have to wait long to find out what happens next. And Celeste paid for her mouth big time, i wanted her to be gone but still it was cold. I actually don't want their first real kiss happen while she is pregnant. I think it will be a lot hotter to watch for us and for haylijah to finally make out then they can actually have sex afterwards. And for that the baby bump needs to go. I am not a fan of sweet little kisses on tv, either have a hot make out session or nothing at all. I just keep thinking the entire time that is the real people kissing (who have real life lovers) and it's weird. So if they have to go through it they better make it count.
I wonder what happend between Elijah and Klaus after this.. When Elijah first showed up on TVD he was willing to help the gang to kill Klaus ..he even almost did it! But in 1919 they were still on good terms. And i don't think it has something to do with Klaus daggering Rebekah in 1922.. It wasn't the first time he did it .. Furthermore Elijah thought Klaus dropped their family in the ocean .. so Klaus obviously made that up.. but why?
Why do Haylijah fans are so upset after last episode? If anything they should be happy. He chose to give her what she wanted. And he let her make the choice whether to come back to him or not after her friends are humans again. You know they say if you truly love someone let them go. That's what he did. And of course she is coming back. What else she is going to do? live in the bayou for the rest of her life? Her walking away was so dramatic like they will never see each other again. lol. But they live under the same roof so what's the big deal if she now has more friends than before?
Why do abusive fathers beat up their children and wives? in each case reasons are different. Mikael was a product of his times, he was a vikings, killing, pillaging and raping were vikings favorite pastimes. Perhaps he had a strict father too. and the reason why he picked on Niklaus more than his other kids probably lies in Niklaus himself. Werewolves are different from humans even before triggering their genes, Tyler had a strong-willed personality before triggering his werewolf side, he needed to be in a spotlight, to have a hot girlfriend, to prove his alpha male status, being a jock, an athlete, he was also an asshole not afraid to hurt other people physically on the field (Stefan), or beat up Jeremy. If Klaus was at least half of these things it already was enough to warrant him Mikael's undivided attention. perhaps while his other siblings kept their heads down Klaus couldn't help himself, he needed adventures, snuck out to watch werewolves. basically he was loud, fun, adventurous, brave, mischievous and Mikael hated him for it and tried to beat it out, to scare him into being a weakling, and the more he failed the more he hated his son.
I cant remember why exactly is Mikael hating on Klaus? Just because he isn't his? And what eventually happened to Mikael in Mystic Falls? My memory is so bad... Did we get explanation why did Marcel stay behind? Suddenly out of nowhere having burned town is better than being with Rebekah? Someone please explain it to me, Im little lost :(
Other than that I loved how tense the episode got at the end!
I've been suspicious for a while now about how easily Klaus gave up the Original Witch's remains. I think a different body was in that coffin. Most of the power Celeste took could have come from Davina when she was sacrificed. The question is, if it wasn't the Original Witch who was consecrated, who was it?

ReplyDeleteWhen is Elijah & Haley Going To Kiss....
I'm So Glad Davina Is Back!
R.I.P Celeste
Wow What A Ending Rebekah/Elijah VS Klaus
1.) I think that kiss on the forehead ment more than a kiss would ever mean. He chose her well being and happiness over his own.
ReplyDelete2.) same here, I actually like that kid :D
3.) her death scene was creepy tough
4.) Agreed :D
best The Originals episode ever... and 1x16 will be also shocking and exciting because Elijah will reveal a dark, family secret. (I do not know what..)

ReplyDeleteActually, Mikael despised Klaus more than his other children because Klaus was the product of his wife's betrayal, an "abomination" in his eyes. Every time he looked at Klaus, all he saw was the memories of her cheating on him.
ReplyDeleteWhat did Celeste tell Elijah and what did he reply in French?
ReplyDeleteElijah was stronger than mikael in flashback, which makes it even dumber that the three of them couldn't finish Mikael at the opera together and they even had the weapon to do so.and why mikael was more interested in feeding onMarcel than finally finishing klaus after chasing him for 900 years?
I wonder what happened to Elijah and Mikael after Klaus/Rebekah left. What did Mikael tell Elijah that drove him away from Klaus, or maybe they made a deal that as long as Elijah stays away Mikael won't kill Klaus?
I forgot to mention how terrible i felt for the werewolf queen. poor thing i hope she was dead when Mikael impaled her on that thing. how come she is black and Hayley is not at all? Different branches of the same family tree?
I might love Elijah. Seriously, keep me away from him!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I was sad when Davina died but not overly upset. Now that she is back I realized that I didn't end up missing her much. I don't think her death and comeback hit as hard as they planned.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I would have liked for Klaus to mention the brothers he already lost. I wonder if the decision to leave that out has to do with the new fans that don't know the whole TVD backstory. Either way I think they could have brought it up even if they didn't explain it all. Just a quick "I have lost brothers; I know pain" would have helped him connect with Cami.
ReplyDeleteI think we know he always has possession of them but not necessarily sitting in the basement downstairs. If he doesn't want Elijah and Rebekah to get their hands on them maybe they were in another location out of town. When he went to MF he had the one, the others came later. He probably has some other vamps compelled to deliver them whenever he wants!
ReplyDeleteI know, I yelled that they took the ending from True Blood. Right in the middle of a fight scene errrrrrrrhhhhh!
ReplyDeleteI assumed it was because of his wifes betrayal. Also, that Klaus is half wolf. If I remember correctly the humans lived near but separate from the wolfs when the family first came to the USA. I was under the impression that they thought the wolfs were lesser and beneath them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking time to write this, makes much more sense now! :)
ReplyDeletelmao, right?? like wth!! I swear i was not paying attention to the time, my eyes were GLUED to the tv, all of a sudden it all went to black, i screamed, nooooooooo!!! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm not upset. Lmao
ReplyDeleteWe got that flashback episode in Season 3 to when they were human and Elijah & Klaus were sword-fighting for fun and Mikael went off on Klaus (even though Elijah was doing the exact same thing) about how there was no time for fun and he was too impulsive and it was a miracle he was still alive.
ReplyDeleteMikael wanted to kill Klaus bc K killed his mother.Klaus killed Mikael in 3x09
ReplyDeleteI really wish they'd left it hanging with the sabine/celeste whole story.. it would have been nice if they'd did like she said.. where he'd be forever wondering if whatever woman he happens to be with was her or not....I was really hoping they weren't going to kill her off...
ReplyDeleteI think MIkael fed on Marcel because he knew how much Klaus cared for Marcel and that it would upset Klaus. Mikael wanted to dominate Klaus as much as, or possibly more than, he wanted to kill him. That's usually the case with child abusers. Mikael wanted to show off his power and make Klaus feel powerless.
ReplyDeleteThe werewolf packs probably went through a power shift and a new family became royalty when the werewolf queen died.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't want their first real kiss happen while she is pregnant.
Well if that's what u want to see....if she's late, sex actually helps. lol so Elijah could have that honor. hahahaha JK. ; )
ReplyDeleteI wonder what happend between Elijah and Klaus after this..
ReplyDeleteWhen Elijah first showed up on TVD he was willing to help the gang to kill Klaus ..he even almost did it!
But in 1919 they were still on good terms. And i don't think it has something to do with Klaus daggering Rebekah in 1922.. It wasn't the first time he did it ..
Furthermore Elijah thought Klaus dropped their family in the ocean .. so Klaus obviously made that up.. but why?
Yea, ok. That makes sense. :)
ReplyDeleteWhy do Haylijah fans are so upset after last episode? If anything they should be happy. He chose to give her what she wanted. And he let her make the choice whether to come back to him or not after her friends are humans again. You know they say if you truly love someone let them go. That's what he did. And of course she is coming back. What else she is going to do? live in the bayou for the rest of her life? Her walking away was so dramatic like they will never see each other again. lol. But they live under the same roof so what's the big deal if she now has more friends than before?
ReplyDeleteWhy do abusive fathers beat up their children and wives? in each case reasons are different. Mikael was a product of his times, he was a vikings, killing, pillaging and raping were vikings favorite pastimes. Perhaps he had a strict father too.
ReplyDeleteand the reason why he picked on Niklaus more than his other kids probably lies in Niklaus himself.
ReplyDeleteDid we get explanation why did Marcel stay behind? Suddenly out of nowhere having burned town is better than being with Rebekah?
Someone please explain it to me, Im little lost :(
Other than that I loved how tense the episode got at the end!
I've been suspicious for a while now about how easily Klaus gave up the Original Witch's remains. I think a different body was in that coffin. Most of the power Celeste took could have come from Davina when she was sacrificed. The question is, if it wasn't the Original Witch who was consecrated, who was it?
ReplyDeleteHayley is such a badass love it!
