  2. Good after weeks of the tom plot being drawn out we got answers, great progress

  3. Great episode but are they going to keep flirting around the idea that Red is her father? I mean, he denied it earlier in the season and now this...I just don't know anymore, my emotions are confused.

  4. Damn..Damn...Game on now.

  5. gave it a great... all the Tom stuff was awesome and so glad that Liz is finally out of the dark and from the looks of it will be her own double agent (like that angle) - the cotw turning out to be a tech savvy teen stalker with a crush was kinda meh though...

  6. what do you mean by her own double agent

  7. During the episode where Lizs adoptive father died didn't we find out that Red is indeed her father? I mean he told him that she can never find out but adoptive dad said she deserves to know and that's why Red killed him before he could talk to Liz one more time?!

  8. I'm guessing that she is going to play the role that Tom wants her play, oblivious to whatever his agenda is, but at the same time she will probably use Tom to get whatever intel to determine what that hidden agenda is and who might be behind it - just a speculation

Somehow the show just keeps getting better.

    That's what I thought

  11. That's what was posted here a few days ago but when the episode aired it still said "Ivan (No. 88)" so I don't know what was going on with that.

  12. the stakes continue to get higher and higher

  13. by guess eventually Jolene body will show up and Red will use it as one of his blacklist so FBI can take over the case by claiming TOm is a member of list? the truth will come out at some point can't hide it forever

The real question is will Tom be back next season now?

  15. I think by the season finale, Tom will be on the run as the truth will come out

  16. i thought the last scene confirmed that red is liz's father

  17. I read the article about the title change too, but after seeing the episode I'm glad it stayed titled "Ivan" honestly. The only "Blaclister" of the episode was in fact the real Ivan, the kid impersonating Ivan was a lesser criminal. Albeit one with serious hacking skills!

That said, I don't get the title change shenanigans either

  18. Glad to FINALLY have Liz aware of Tom's secret!
    (At least to some degree)

I will admit, I wondered why a top-notch security system with multiple cameras would not have a DVR recording the footage. Other than had there been a DVR system Liz could have seen Tom running ff with her own eyes....

Loved Red's brief appearances in the episode.
    - commenting on why he does not pay taxes
    - wanting to hire this mysterious teen hacker!
    - spending days restoring the music box for Liz!

  19. I don't think so.

Red said to Liz " I NEVER lied to you" . This means that when she asked him if he was her father his answer wasn't a lie.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm with you on this one.
The only accounts we have are from unreliable narrators so it makes any "proof" quite dubious in my opinion.

Sure, it makes a lot of sense that Red would be Liz's father, but he told her "No" outright. Combined with him saying he has never directly lied, I think the question of who is Liz's dad is still unanswered.

He could know about the music box if he was a family friend or even if he was the man that started the fire, or pulled Liz out of the fire. Hell, or for any number of other ways honestly.

  21. I got the name change from the NBC press site on Friday. I'm stil confused, since the episode title card said 'Ivan'.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Eh. It's NBC. Whaddya gonna do?

  23. Be totally confused for the rest of my life, so much so that I enter a mental facility to try to cure my insanity and IT IS ALL NBC's FAULT!

    ReplyDelete
  24. "IT IS ALL NBC's FAULT!"

Yep. That's usually the case. :) I still blame the network for sabotaging the series Bent with David Walton and Amanda Peet.

  25. My wild guess is Red killed Liz's biological parents (or somehow caused their death in the fire), but he saved her, and he feels guilty about it, that's the reason he helps her and protects her. I also think Red is Ressler's father, I started thinking this when in one of the previous episodes it turned out they both have the same rare blood type... but this is just my wild guesses, :)

  26. "The next name on the Blacklist is a true criminal. Plucking the hearts out of fans, this criminal will stop at nothing to ruin the lives of those who adore television."
    "Does he have a name?"
*laughs* "The criminal is far more than a he. It's an entire organisation. NBC."

  27. Those final Minutes were EVERYTHING! great moments I'm Glad they keep Liz in the dark about Tm for much time now it's going to be a fun game to play now Liz is going to try to find out What da hell Tom wants with her, these final episodes are looking pretty good.
I think red is nto ehr fatehr but in a way si related to ehr he knows just too much he is lets see an uncle or somethig?

    ReplyDelete
  28. But we know Red lies. Why wouldn't he lie to protect Liz?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree. I believe you've nailed it. Now she can decieve him and find out what he's really up to. Red wanted to know and now they can conspire, now that Liz knows Red is right. That blue doll was far more convincing than anything Red could have said. Tom said he was liquidating on the payphone. What will that entail? Keeps us guessing.

  30. That is why you keep watching ;-)

  31. I don't think it was a definitive answer by that episodes end where Sam died. I think it's still up in the air.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agree. Not many shows have every episode be above average.

    ReplyDelete
  33. wtf? tom is a closet gay and he wants dembe for husband? ..

    ReplyDelete
  34. The Red/Lizz bond is confusing. I think I'd like him to be her father but if that was it there should be at least somethin interesting to find out about the whys and hows. Otherwise it would be too predictable.

  35. That last scene....wow. That was a powerful, emotional scene. I know the show will likely continue dancing around the "is he/is he not" Liz's father scenarios, but these kinds of emotionally gratifying and sweet scenes, makes it worth it. Even if Red is Liz's father somehow, there's total rationality to why he wouldn't tell her, what with all the enemies he has, and that secret organization of bigwigs, and the agency Tom works for, all of whom could harm Liz if they knew for sure. I like the paternal concern and seemingly real sense of care, and possibly love, that Red seems to have for Liz. If Red isn't Liz's father, I suppose there is precedent to non-biological people caring for each other in familial ways.

As for the rest of the episode, I liked all the tech geek stuff, even if that teen boy was creepy with his stalker personality. I also really liked the Tom stuff in this episode. FINALLY, Liz is clued in to Tom possibly being some kind of agent. There's only so much time and episodes, that the show can go through, with Liz being in the dark, while the public has learned the truth about Tom, before Liz starts to look really implausibly dumb, for not even having a clue. To make Liz seem at all like the good agent she's supposed to be, I think it was really necessary for her to figure things out herself, and soon, even if Red kinda led her to it. Kudos to somewhat redeeming Liz, in that respect. I'm looking forward to seeing how Liz unmasks Tom's true intentions, and finding out who he works for.

  36. Right? That is one cool-looking music box. Red's got some mad skills for being able to put something that complicated, and seemingly heavily music-craft-skills-dependent, together.
