Melissa George cast as Female Lead in ABC’s Richard LaGravenese Drama Pilot, Elliot Knight also joins cast

Melissa George has been tapped as the female lead opposite Rufus Sewell in ABC’s Richard LaGravenese drama pilot. Also cast in the pilot, in the vein of Dangerous Liaisons, is Elliot Knight. The untitled project is set in New York and revolves around the love and rivalry between two equally matched, powerful socialites, Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole (George), who play out their obsessive attraction and seduction of each other through their manipulation of others. Brit Knight plays Philip’s right-hand man Leo who is loyal to his boss and keeps all of his secrets.

The Mysteries Of Laura - Josh Lucas cast as Male Lead

Josh Lucas is set as the male lead opposite Debra Messing in NBC’s drama pilot The Mysteries Of Laura, written by Jeff Rake and directed by McG. Based on a Spanish format, Mysteries Of Laura follows the life and relationships of Laura Diamond (Messing), a female homicide detective who can handle murderous criminals but not her hell-raising twin children. Lucas will play Jake, a clever cop with keen instincts who winds up being captain in the same precinct as his soon-to-be ex-wife, Laura — ex, if only Jake would sign the papers. A serial cheater who could schmooze his way out of the electric chair, Jake’s charm and coveted “good dad” role means he deftly leaves the parenting of his young twin children entirely to Laura. WBTV, Berlanti Prods. and Kapital Entertainment produce.

Red Zone - Anthony LaPaglia gets Lead Role, Graham Rogers and David Castro also join cast

Anthony LaPaglia is returning to CBS as the lead of another drama project, pilot Red Zone, written by Nikki Toscano and directed by James Foley. Also cast in the Uni TV project are Graham Rogers (Revolution) and David Castro. Red Zone centers on Holden Weller (LaPaglia), a retired CIA operative and intense high school football coach/athletic director who is pulled back into action when a terrorist event rocks Washington, D.C., forced to investigate closer to home where the next generation of terrorists is being bred. Rogers plays Jake, an all-American teenager and second-string quarterback who has a special bond with Coach Weller. Castro plays Reza, a smart and thoughtful new student at the high school who has just transferred there to play baseball.

Astronaut Wives Club - Odette Annable added as Regular

House alumna Odette Annable is set as one of the main leads in ABC‘s 10-episode summer drama series Astronaut Wives Club, from Fake Empire, Groundswell Productions and ABC Studios. Written by Stephanie Savage based on Lily Koppel’s novel, it tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. Annable will play Trudy Cooper, the youngest of the Astro-wives and a licensed pilot herself. A tomboy with aspirations of her own, her forward thinking challenges not just her husband but the other wives.

The Odd Couple - Wendell Pierce joins as Series Regular

Wendell Pierce (The Wire) has signed on to CBS‘ multi-camera comedy pilot The Odd Couple, a take on the Neil Simon classic. Co-written and executive produced by Matthew Perry, Odd Couple revolves around two mismatched roommates — the messy Oscar Madison (Perry) and neat freak Felix Unger (Thomas Lennon). Pierce will play Teddy, a neurotic cop and a good buddy of Oscar’s who goes to his apartment every week for Game Night.

More Time With Family - Nancy Lenehan cast

Nancy Lenehan has been cast in CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot More Time With Family, executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and written/exec produced by Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith. Based on the stand-up of Tom Papa and the experiences of Damon, More Time With Family centers on Tom (Papa), a husband and father making a career change to spend more time with his family. Opposite Joe Pantoliano, Nancy will play Barb, the sweet, flighty, worrier-mother of the family.

Scorpion - Eddie Kaye Thomas to Co-Star, Jadyn Wong also joins cast

Eddie Kaye Thomas will co-star opposite Elyes Gabel in CBS‘ drama pilot Scorpion. Also cast in the project, from writer Nick Santora, director Justin Lin, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, is young Canadian actress Jadyn Wong (Being Erica). Scorpion centers on Walter (Gabel), an eccentric genius and his international network of super-geniuses who form the last line of defense against the complex threats of the modern age. Thomas plays Toby, a genius behaviorist and a member of super-geniuses team. Wong plays Happy, the mechanical genius who can fabricate anything and has hands with a surgeon’s precision and a magician’s inhuman speed.

Flesh and Bones - Josh Helman and Damon Herriman join cast

Josh Helman (X Men, Fury Road) and Damon Herriman (Justified) have landed roles in Starz‘s ballet drama Flesh And Bone from executive producers Lawrence Bender, Kevin Brown and John Melfi and creator/exec producer Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad). Described as a dark and gritty exploration of the dysfunction and glamour of the ballet world, Flesh And Bone follows Claire (Sarah Hay), a young dancer with has a distinctly troubled past, as she joins a prestigious ballet company in New York. Helman will play Bryan, who just returned home with a bad case of PTSD after serving in combat overseas. Herriman, with APA, Art/Work Entertainment and Australia’s Lisa Mann, will play Romeo, a strange and engaging homeless guy who lives on the roof of Claire and Mia’s Lower East side building.

Ellen More Or Less - Jama Williamson joins cast

Parks & Recreation alum Jama Williamson has signed on to NBC’s pilot Ellen More Or Less, written/exec produced by JJ Philbin, directed by Peyton Reed and exec produced by Jason Katims and Michelle Lee. The single-camera comedy, from Universal TV and Katims’ True Jack Productions, centers on Ellen (Stacey McGunnigle), an average-size woman who, after losing 100 pounds, begins reinventing herself in life and love. Williamson will play Melissa, Ellen’s insecure co-worker who’s desperately in love with Jerry (Chris Diamantopoulos).

Max Casella and Jack Quaid cast in HBO's Rock ’n’ Roll Drama Pilot

Max Casella (Blue Jasmine) and Jack Quaid (Hunger Games franchise) have joined HBO‘s untitled Rock ’n’ Roll drama pilot, from executive producers Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, George Mastras and Terence Winter. The pilot is eyeing production start in early summer with Scorsese directing. Co-written by Winter and showrunner Mastras, the untitled drama is set in 1970s New York and explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of record executive Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale), who is trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound. Casella will play Julian “Julie” Silver, the nurturing but short-tempered Head of A&R of the label, who struggles to stay hip and relevant in the young man’s game of the rock ’n’ roll business. Quaid, son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, plays Clark Morelle, a young A&R executive at the label who struggles for a foothold in the competitive environment of the A&R team.

Forever - Joel David Moore , Barbara Eve Harris and Donnie Keshawarz added as Regulars

Joel David Moore (Bones, Avatar), Barbara Eve Harris (The Amazing Spider-Man) and Donnie Keshawarz (The Wolf Of Wall Street) have landed series regular roles on ABC’s drama pilot Forever, written by Matthew Miller and directed by Brad Anderson. It centers on Dr. Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), New York City’s star medical examiner. But what no one knows is Henry studies the dead for a reason donnie1– he is immortal. His investigative work with recently widowed Detective Jo Martinez (Alana de la Garza), a recovering alcoholic, and relationship with best friend Abe (Judd Hirsch) will peel back the layers of Henry’s colorful and long life. Moore will play Lucas, a young M.E. tech who’s a bit of a hipster and easily tongue-tied around pretty women. Harris, with SDB Partners and Valeo Entertainment, will play Lt. Roark, an old-school NYC cop who is Martinez’s boss. The role originally was written for a male character. Keshawarz will play brash homicide Detective Hanson, who works with Martinez.
