Damaged Goods - Kellee Stewart joins cast

Kellee Stewart (Soul Man) has joined Lauren Iungerich’s ABC comedy pilot Damaged Goods. It revolves around damaged men (Justin Hartley, Steve Talley) and damaged women who explore the minutiae of love and relationships. Stewart will play one of the women, Betsy, who is living off alimony.

Astronaut Wives Club - Azure Parsons to Co-Star

Azure Parsons (True Detective, Salem) will co-star opposite JoAnna Garcia Swisher in ABC‘s summer drama series Astronaut Wives Club. The project, from Fake Empire, Groundswell Prods and ABC Studios, tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. Parsons will play one of them, Annie Glenn, the wife of John Glenn whom she’s known since they were toddlers in Ohio.

How I Met Your Dad - Krysta Rodriguez to Co-Star

Actress-singer Krysta Rodriguez (Smash) has landed one of the leads alongside Greta Gerwig and Drew Tarver in CBS’s How I Met Your Mother spinoff How I Met Your Dad. In the vein of the original series, HIMYD tells the story from a female point of view, that of Sally (Gerwig), and revolves around a new group of friends in New York. Rodriguez plays Sally’s best friend Juliet, a sexy, flamboyant force of nature who runs the most successful fashion blog in the country. The pilot, from 20th TV, was written by Emily Spivey and HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and will be directed by Pam Fryman.

American Crime - Penelope Ann Miller cast

Penelope Ann Miller, coming off a stint on ABC’s Mistresses, has been cast in the network’s drama pilot American Crime. Written and exec produced by John Ridley, fresh off winning an Oscar for 12 Years A Slave, it centers on the racially charged murder of a war veteran and the subsequent trial, which are examined through the personal lives of the players involved. Miller will play Eve, the emotionally shattered mother of the killed man’s badly beaten wife who is on life support.

Lifesaver - Chris Butler to Co-Star

King & Maxwell alum Chris Butler has booked NBC’s multi-camera comedy pilot Lifesaver, from writer Wil Calhoun, Uni TV and TBD Entertainment. The odd couple comedy centers on the uptight, controlling and a bit neurotic Dr. Graham Permenter (Christian Borle) and loose cannon Leon (Jonathan Ryland), who become inextricably linked after Leon saves Graham’s life by giving him a kidney. Butler plays Campbell Carter, the entitled/selfish childhood friend and neighbor of Dr. Parmenter.

Madam Secretary - Patina Miller joins cast

Patina Miller (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) has been cast in CBS drama pilot Madam Secretary, from CBS Studios and Revelation Entertainment. Written by Barbara Hall and directed by Dave Semel, the series explores the personal and professional life of maverick female Secretary of State Elizabeth McGill (Tea Leoni) as she drives international diplomacy, wrangles office politics and balances a complex family life. Miller will play Daisy, McGill’s press coordinator. Hall is exec producing with Semel and Revelation’s Lori McCreary, Morgan Freeman and Tracey Mercer.

Red Band Society - Ciara Bravo and Nolan Sotillo to Co-Star

Ciara Bravo (Big Time Rush) and Nolan Sotillo (Prom) have booked lead roles on Fox’s pilot Red Band Society, from Amblin TV and ABC Studios. It is a coming-of-age drama that explores with dark humor the daily lives of a group of teenagers living in a hospital who become unlikely friends. Bravo will play Emma, a beautiful patient on the pediatric ward struggling with anorexia. Sotillo will play Jordi Palacios, a very smart and resourceful young man who refuses to take “No” for an answer.

Feed Me - Mary-Louise Parker set to Star

Mary-Louise Parker‘s reunion with NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt is now official as the former Weeds star has closed a deal to topline NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot Feed Me. The project, from veteran producers Paul Junger Witt and Tony Thomas, received a pilot green light last month based on Parker’s intention to star in it. Following the end of Weeds, which Greenblatt put on the air while running Showtime, NBC had been pursing the actress for multiple projects, and Feed Me was the script she responded to. Talks with Parker had already commenced when Feed Me was picked up to pilot three weeks ago, now they have been successfully completed. Written by Sally Robinson, who penned Lifetime’s successful Steel Magnolias remake, Feed Me is described as a comedic exploration of adult intimacy and desire that centers on a dysfunctional family bound by love and the restaurant they run together. And when daughter Emma’s husband has an affair, they circle the wagons to fiercely protect one of their own. Robinson, Thomas and Witt executive produce for Universal TV. Parker serves as a producer.

The Messengers - Diogo Morgado to Co-Star

Diogo Morgado has been cast as one of the leads in ensemble drama The Messengers, from writer/co-exec producer Eoghan O’Donnell and exec producer Basil Iwanyk. In it, when a mysterious object crashes down to earth, a group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse. Morgado will play The Man, a mysterious figure who wakes up naked and burned in the desert and sets out on a mission to provide some answers about the strange events.

American Crime - Timothy Hutton cast as Male Lead

Former Leverage star Timothy Hutton is set as the male lead in ABC’s drama pilot American Crime. Felicity Huffman is in negotiations for the female lead in the project, written and exec produced by John Ridley, who is fresh off winning an Oscar for 12 Years A Slave. It centers on the racially charged murder of a war veteran and the subsequent trial, which are examined through the personal lives of the players involved. Hutton will play Chuck Skokie, a former gambling addict-turned-honest working man whose adult son Matt is the victim.

Rufus Sewell set as Male Lead in Richard LaGravenese Drama Pilot

Rufus Sewell is set as the male lead in ABC’s Richard LaGravenese drama pilot. In the vein of Dangerous Liaisons, the untitled project is set in New York and revolves around the love and rivalry between two equally matched, powerful socialites — Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole — who play out their obsessive attraction and seduction of each other through their manipulation of others.

Coercion - Annie Ilonzeh added as Regular

Charlie’s Angels alumna Annie Ilonzeh is set as a regular in the NBC drama pilot Coercion, based on an Israeli format. The high-octane thriller revolves around the O’Connor family and their son, Alex (Gavin Stenhouse), a decorated American war hero and CIA analyst. Unbeknownst to him, both of his parents and his sister are part of a dormant Russian sleeper cell that has just been reactivated. Ilonzeh plays Julia, a no-nonsense Special Agent with the FBI assigned to work closely with Alex.

State of Affairs - Cliff Chamberlain to Co-Star
Chicago-based theater actor Cliff Chamberlain has been cast in NBC drama pilot State of Affairs, which stars Katherine Heigl as Charleston Whitney Tucker, a key CIA attaché who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world. Chamberlain will play Brett Welker, a quirky CIA linguist.

Keep It Together - Bresha Webb cast as Female Lead
Bresha Webb, who was among the finalists for the new cast member spot on SNL, has landed the female lead opposite Romany Malco in ABC‘s multi-camera comedy pilot Keep It Together, from actor-comedian Kevin Hart. Written by Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan based on Hart’s life and stand-up, the project takes a candid look at the post-divorce life of a couple, Derek (Malco) and Lorraine (Webb), who are trying to forge a friendship for the sake of their kids, despite their differences.

The Visitors - Brianna Brown joins cast

Brianna Brown (Devious Maids, Homeland) has been added to in ABC drama pilot The Visitors, from Amblin TV. Penned by Soo Hugh, it chronicles the race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world. Brown will play Lena, who discovers that her daughter is being turned against her by a covert alien operation. She refuses to play victim and joins forces with her husband Wes (Barry Sloane) and Claire (Lily Rabe), revealing herself as the most ruthless fighter of all in order to get her daughter back.
