    They look like pyjamas, which reminds me of that episode when Grainger first showed up as he had pyjamas on then. Thinking about it, that's really odd. Someone that refuses to wear trousers (or pants if you're american) because of how they feel, yet sleeps in full length pyjama bottoms. Why am I even thinking about this...

    I was thinking that they looked like pajama bottoms as well but was just remembering the episode when he refused to wear pants (yes, I am American :-)) because they so were restrictive. I had completely forgotten about Grainger's first appearance, guess I was just so shocked to not see his legs.
