The actress, who has played Catherine ‘Cat’ Rollins since Season 1, will not be returning for the CBS drama’s recently ordered fifth season, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Borth is set to make her final appearance as McGarrett’s fellow team member and lover at the end of the show’s current fourth season.

I believe someone tweeted that they didn't like her work and she then tweeted them calling them a "cheeky monkey" lol. Then she got loads of flames off others because she dared call someone a name.

You do realise I said nothing in the above comment about her being abused on Twitter? Jorge Garcia will take her place since had she not left, there would be eight regulars on the show - and Steve is the only one who gets lots of screen time.

Additionally she called a fan this by going to their personal twitter that wasn't even tagged Hawaii Five 0.

I love Catherine as a character (not so much the actress) and am sad to see her go, but saying that Kono has always taken the back seat is not true, she was very much in and center of the action in season 1, but when they brought in others like Lori and Cath, she is constantly being pushed into the background. Hopefully it will change now.

This has been happening for over a year and happened to multiple people. Hardly doubt it is a 'little' twitter argument..

Hardley anyone here and on other sites gave Lauren and to some degree Catherine a chance.They were made to feel unwelcome from the get go,Lauren was never made to feel like she was part of the team,i remember the remarks that were made about her here,and most of the remarks weren't warranted.Some were even downright cruel.
ReplyDeleteKono doesn't have that much screen time,and she doesn't do much when she is on .When Kono is in the office she works the computer,when going after the 'bad guys' its always Steve and Danno first with Chin and Kono taking up the rear. We see her handcuff the people Steve arrests.We see her in her bathing suit surfing or walking out of the water.And until the end of last season when she went undercover with her boyfriend,that was the first time she actually had her own storyline with an arc that lasted for more than a few months,but that was because only of her pregnancy.
Lastly,I know you feel differently like Kono hasn't gotten a chance but she has had 4 years to prove herself . I think Kono just isn't a very strong actress,at least not strong enough to carry that show if needed.
Lauren and Catherine didn't leave because they couldn't act,it was because the Kono fans the core4 were relentless on their mission to get them off the show.
I don't think and actress or celebrity in general is under any obligation to treat anyone "nice" on social media. They act the way they act.

Because when I started reading them they were really really nasty stuff the fans posted so I ignored it I think I even read a death threat in there from a fan somewhere even Peter was targeted. But it was the bullying online that caused her to quit. I like Michelle as an actress whatever she says it's her opinion I agree. I loved Cath she was a great addition to the team I agree! What she did for the Navy and the help with H50 got her the job in the team in the first place I was happy when she got the badge :D

They find their way to listen to the fans online and take it into contest to write it into the script and the way they wrote Cath off the probably due to the hate from the fans cos of something she said online was wrong! Like I said above is why she deserved to stay on the show! Trust me I'm always on Twitter & Facebook chatting to the crew online Peter is such a nice person he answers our questions and RT'd our tweets really. Go on Twitter @plenkov and read what he says and does. Hell they even did 2 wrap videos YES! 2 wrap videos for the cast, crew and us fans. They love us! And did an episode for us fans!
Bullying online should not happen! End of story. Just 2 weeks ago we lost a well known Australian personality due to online bullying. Why do people do it? Why the hell do I know I HATE IT! I was bullied at school when I was young because of my looks and I know what it's like. Bullying should be wiped clean end of slate where's the love? You know what Ohana means everyone? Ohana means Family if you love H50 (shit I'm talking like a hippy LOL) you should not send hate if you don't like the person don't say it constantly so that you can get the point across.
Like what Nads said I'm not a McRoll fan or a McDanno fan I'm a fan of everything associated with H50 if you have a hate for someone that is really nasty that is not really calling yourself a fan.
This happened to Lauren German also when she was in S2 and that worked for her. But now look at her she is on Chicago Fire and most of the H50 fans love her on there also. I loved Lori also on the show.

ReplyDeleteThere is one thing I don't agree with u : it's that they listened to fans ! you know, i'm pretty sure Peter loves interacting with fans, he wouldn't RT and answer us that much if he didn't, but I don't think we have any power on the show ! Maybe for the fanbuilt ep, of course, but that's all ! I don't think twitter makes them change their plans ! Peter and he writers are smart enough to don't let fans dictate what they have to do.

On social media Michelle is who she is, the fans on the other hand are anonymous and feel they can just say what they want, true or not, and expect the person to just accept it and move on. The excuse that they are in the public is a tired one. Cruelty, is cruelty. So what is being said is , Michelle defends herself, and she is the Bitch who can't handle it and should leave acting or get off of twitter. Sorry, but its time to look at oneself. The people saying she should let it go are exactly the people who would never do that.

McGarret having a girlfriend (or whatever she was in the beginning) from the start was a good thing anyway.. I'm afraid of a new love story becoming the main horizontal plot for him in next seasons.. Things like dinozzo-ziva in NCIS are tiring..
