  2. Can't wait to see Will's face when he finds out that Hannibal is boning Alana. *lol*

  3. This sex scene is a atastrophe for me, a complete assassination of Alana 's character: the writers avoided the trope of getting involved her with the hero (Will) though she was attracted to him because she thought that he was too instable and she had to protect herself instead of saving him, but the same writers are saying now it's ok to apply to her the overused trope of the good girl falling the bad guy and getting emotionally abused?

    Mads hotness can't justify everything...

  4. Hannibal is the hero of this show. Will is only the hero's best friend who should start learning that Hannibal cares more about him than the FBI does.

It's not Hannibal's fault that Alana wants to bone him. Why should he refuse a very exciting experience?

  6. How is it a character assassination? He's not a bad guy to her. She's known him longer than Will and he's her friend.

As for the emotional abuse - will she be horrified when she finds out the truth? Absolutely. But she's been portrayed as being a strong and very aware person. She's not going to allow herself to be abused. She'll find out, she'll be horrified and she'll get over it. She's not going to be okay with it, she's not going to feel sorry for Hannibal - she'll be done with him when she finds out. That's my prognosis.

  7. It's a character assasination, because it's once more "a female lead" falling into trope that have been overdone and being reduced to be a romantic object in a pissing contest between the two male leads. And i'm not too much hopeful the writers won't add anything new to this story told already 1 million times.
Few smug faces from Hannibal, few hurt faces from Will, meanwhile Alana won't move in term of development of one cm. All the spoilers so far are suggesting that she's very much on Hannibal side until the very end of the season, stuck in the role of romantic interest while the rest of the team is gathering evidences aginst him.
That sucks because she's so far already useless, even though she's a fantastic character with a lot of potentiel.

I really don't believe that she will come out as easily as you seem to think of her relationship with Hannibal: she'll become a sensational subject for the medias (the fiancee of the cannibale), will lose her professional reputation as a criminal psychologist, will damage badly her relationship with Will maybe for good, will have to deal the the guilt...
That's too much to be dealed in one episode....

  8. You're basically fangirling about a cannibal serial killer.

There's nothing i can add if you're serious, the show speaks for itself.

But If it was a joke, you should add more humor to it or people will look down on your thinking.

  9. I suppose you're right when it comes to the development of an interesting female character on the show. She's a means to an end in that regard. Possibly only a plot device (I don't read spoilers or at least I try not to, so I don't "know" what's going to happen).
But when it comes to storyline developments I do think that the development makes sense. Two people have been colleagues and friends for a long time, she thinks he's a stable and well-liked individual who is very accomplished in his field of work. A romantic relationship between them is not exactly unthinkable. It's a perfectly plausible storyline for me.

That said, I have to say I don't care about her. I don't have a problem with the character or the actress, I'm just not that interested. Added to that, I don't think she's a female "lead" on the show. To me it seems like there aren't any female leads on the show. The female characters on the show are basically surplus ... expendable. YMMV.

  10. People who really understand this show and liked all the books are not "fangirling". That's what people do who seem to look this show mainly because of the look of Hugh Dancy.

Hannibal Lecter is not just a damaged soul who does bad things because he had to watch how his little sister was eaten. Besides the fact that he is a genius and superior to the complete FBI, he cares in his way of thinking also for the people he really likes.

He could have killed Will so easily so much times but instead he tries to stop him from becoming insane by "thinking" for the FBI. Hannibal wants to stop Will to become what he himself already is.

And his desire to help Will will at least be the reason why Hannibal will be for a limited time in jail. Because despite all the destruction which was caused by the criminals who ate his sister there is still a good person behind all this damage.

That's why Hannibal is much more than a cruel serial killer and a genius and why this show is about him and not about Will.

  11. The only reason because Hannibal made a move with Alana is because he knows she is important to Will, there's not romantic feelings. Sometimes I wonder if you know the character, he can't feel anything for anyone, he is empty. The only thing he has inside is a cold curiosity and is because he chose to be the man he is today

  12. Will is the hero or main protagonist. Hannibal is the deuteragonist/ main antagonist. Yes, it would be Hannibal's doing if he did Alana, since he's probably going to manipulate her to get bad at Will. You're fangirling over a cannibalistic serial killer. mean come on!

  13. I don't get why you write in one sentence about the greatest genius in TV history who unfortunately had also the most traumatic experience but also about the most evil, stupid and worst written character who will (thank god) never be seen again on a TV screen. We maybe could compare Hannibal to Brian Moser (Yeah. The times when Dexter once was a great TV show) or to the lumberjack-serial-killer Dexter - although the Moser brothers probably never ate their meat because they had a different traumatic experience.

I even don't get why you claim I would "fangirl" *lol* In my opinion Alana is definitely more attractive than Hannibal, Will or Jack.

But what I got is that Hannibal didn't want to drive Will over the edge. He wants to show Will that he has to stop to work for the FBI before that happens.

I also got that Will can't be the hero because he is inferior to Will. Only because of his decision to NOT destroy Will, he will be for a limited time in jail. And then when Will finally got it and leaves he will in season 5 be replaced by the only woman who can create a true feeling of love inside of Hannibal.

  14. I'm sorry you were saying about not fangirling?

  15. I agree, that It makes sense because Bryan is a very good writer nonetheless and gives a lot of thoughts into details: he would never bring this kind of storyline from nowhere.
But even logical, it's still a bad choice for me. I'm curious to read his reasons in the next walkthrough...

She's not either a lead for me, thats' why i used the quotation marks, more a supporting character considering her screen time and the quality of her storyline, but she's the closest thing to a female lead and i don't know why but it makes me sad to think that this show has for now no female lead.
    Maybe later with Clarice.
