Thanks to Swiftnissity for the sending us the following.
Arrow filmed a funeral today. One of the extra's posted an image onto instagram and it's spreading around. Today was also the final day of filming for episode 21.
Other spoilers have indicated someone would be killed off soon, so it looks like the death occurs sometime in or before episode 21.
The only cast member known to have been on set was Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance).
Please die Sara
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I have not to worry about my Dinah!! If Sarah dies I hope this mean that she is on her way to become the future Black Canary. I will be sad for Sarah, I love her, but I had waited for Dinah to become BC since this show was announced.
ReplyDeletesomehow i intende to agree
ReplyDeleteI am worried. My money was on Quentin. But Paul Blackthorne is still shooting. May be Roy or Moira. I don't want Sara to die. I hope this is a false news and no one dies.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe they plan to make Dinah the Black Canary at all in Arrow.
ReplyDeleteIn a previous interview (during the first half of season 2) they mentioned that Laurel's destiny was to become the Black Canary.
Please don't kill off Sara.
ReplyDeleteSorry for being ambiguous, for Dinah I meant Laurel!, Both have the same first name (Dinah "Laurel" Lance and Dinah "Drake" Lance), I'm more used to call her Dinah thanks to the comic :P
ReplyDeleteAh :P woops hehe :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm Oliver, Felicity and Laurel should be safe, Diggle I belive is safe aswell but he might be the more obvious choice. I could see Sebastian Blood go down as the ep is titled City of Blood. Moira could go down aswell to protect Thea or so.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Laurel was the one in the coffin. LOL
ReplyDeleteI would be really disappointed if they killed off Roy and I honestly can't see it happening. There is still too much they can do with him.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's Sara because a lot of regular cast members would be present and not only Katie Cassidy. But it could be flashback to Tommy's funeral since Malcom was "dead", Moira was in jail, Oliver went back to the island so that leaves only Laurel to be the one to attend the funeral.
ReplyDeleteNice thoery.
ReplyDeleteRoy is not dying.
ReplyDeleteI'm inclined to believe abc87's theory at the moment, considering if it were any series regular or even Sara there would be plenty of characters there.
ReplyDeleteHa, that would be a clever little ploy if they created buzz by leaking the news that they filmed a funeral scene, only for it to be a flashback.
ReplyDeleteI think there will be casualties, but in the season finale and I think episode 21 is too early for it.
ReplyDeleteApart from the fact that I like her so much, let's face it, it would hardly be a "shocking powerful death". When you kill off a character, it's supposed to hit the audience hard, although these days the endless spoilers about how someone is gonna die are eroding that effect. Since everyone has pretty much been expecting Sara's death from the minute we knew she was going to be on the show, it would be pretty lame to make her the big end-of-season death (or near the end of the season, in this case). No one would react with shock... more like "Oh, so that's when they decided to do it."
ReplyDeleteThat would be smart to show Tommy's funeral. Nice prediction
ReplyDeleteAs long as HIVE is not explored Diggle will be safe. Blood will definitely die this season. Moira has a chance.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they will kill off Sara. Too predictable. Also killing off Sara will kind of put Laurel in a bad place and how many times can they do that.
ReplyDeleteI hope so. But his lack of control with mirakuru and his vampire like healing makes me wonder if he will die. I would like it if they found a cure for mirakuru. They are kind of making him one note with this drug induced anger.
ReplyDeleteHis drug induced anger I believe is a take on his comic counterpart who had a heroin addiction in the 1970's. We know he's supposed to become Arsenal and Roy's heroin addiction was one of the catalysts that lead to that.
ReplyDeletePlease be Laurel who will die!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I thought they give Thea the drug problem last season as a nod to that since they call her speedy. You may be right. By the time he becomes Arsenal, I forgot about the name release last week, he will be more in control of himself. You guys are right since they already decided to call him Arsenal he won't die. Thanks for the comic info:)
ReplyDeletelet me guess , sarah , i hope so
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about that...well, they will surely kill off some of the Island people and some of the bad guys before the season is over. But they did the character dead last finale. I believe they will go for something different this time around...for example the season ends with Thea getting kidnapped by Malcolm (who will train her during the hiatus, so we have a set-up to let her join the team next season as Speedy/Red Arrow).
ReplyDeleteI don't like Sara but i don't want her to die either simply because "Ollie" would be devastated for like 5 years...The whole I-killed-Shado thing is already ridiculous enough...
ReplyDeleteIt appears Laurel will be the fallen member. Black Canary moves along with Roy Harper is my understanding from catching up on his character's time line? We shall see??
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the smart money is on Sara getting killed off. The show's writers have said that Laurel would become the Canary--which I think is a bad decision, given the way Sara/Caity Lotz has really embodied the character. Making Laurel the Canary is faithful to the comics, and seems to be a decision made a long time ago, that the producers/writers feel that have to follow through on. Lastly, during last night's Live Tweeting during the Arrow's "Birds of Prey" episode, Caity Lotz was the only cast member NOT in Vancouver where the show films. She was back home in LA, which suggests that she's no longer with the show. Too bad: I'll really miss Caity Lotz, who has become my fav female on the show. She did excellent work as the Canary, and I'm sure she will be cast in other, good roles in movies and TV. [Note: Lotz is an excellent dancer, too, so that opens more opportunities for her.]
ReplyDeleteCaity Lotz has already said Sara's in the show for the rest of the season and killing off Canary in 21 when there's 2 episodes left before the big showdown seems rather short sighted.
ReplyDeleteThe actress is no longer on set/filming so I think Derek117 is right. Sara is the smart money bet.
ReplyDeleteI have said from the beginning of Oliver's "I will not kill" campaign that someone he is very close to will die because he did not kill someone and that the death will cause him to spiral or at least go back to killing. Sara is the first in mind, but any family member could work.
ReplyDeleteI knew we wouldn't be lucky enough to bid of Laurel. They will probably kill a character we actually like instead.
ReplyDeleteOnly character I can think of dying is Sebastian Blood. He has outstayed his welcome. As soon as Slade came into play Blood lost his appeal.
ReplyDeleteLet's look at this logically. Laurel would have no reason to be at a funeral for: Dig, Felicity, Roy.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, if it was a funeral for a main cast member, more than just Katie Cassidy would be there. It would be very logical for it to be a Tommy funeral flashback (hopefully just before her death in the present).
Katie is the only one on set atm. My guess is that if they are filming a funeral you will hear about others characters showing up. The same thing happened on GosGirl, took most of the day for everyone (the mains) to actually show up. The truth is Sara is your best option because I have felt like all season long this was nothing more than Tommy 2.0 but this time it was Ollie's turn.
ReplyDeleteThe Sara death is way too obvious.
ReplyDeleteTrue I agree. But, that's also why I buy it. And in all honesty there really is no more story to tell with her. I mean, other than being Ollie's sidekick/girlfriend and fighting by his side, there's no drama. They cleaned up the story with his sister and all is forgiven there, she's not an obstacle for a couple because Laurel has given her blessing to that union. Really what else is there besides Laurel finding out who Sara is just as she dies in her arms or better yet risking her life for Laurel. Plus, it does come down to the fact that this actress is one of those seasonal guest star and the season is almost over which means so is her stint of this show.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that it's the funeral of Sebastian Blood. Why else would JUST Laurel be at the funeral? If it were Sarah, the whole cast would be there.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't buy for one second tht Laurel is capable of being the Black Canary. Sara trained for years with the freaking League of Assassins, and Laurel will be just as good as her in less time?
ReplyDeleteHa! I like your perspective on this issue.
ReplyDeleteWith much more purpose.
ReplyDeleteDinah is in Central City.
ReplyDeleteAre Laurel and Ollie end game? If so, Sara is so dying
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine. After Tommy died he was gone for like 3 months, can you imagine what he would do if he lost Sara? I think we'll just have to wait and see cause it's probably what's going to happen...
ReplyDeleteActually he was gone for 5 months but who cares...
ReplyDeleteHe will not be able to shut up about it , I'm telling you!
It's already but enough right now that we are reminded in every single freaking episode that he killed Shado and HE DIDN'T EVEN F***ING DOIT!
Then we'll have Ollie blaming himself all over again and blah blah blah...Is it bad that I don't like the main character of the show AT ALL???
I kinda dislike him too. He's so... ugh
ReplyDeletethe only character I wanna see die is Laurel - her character brings absolutely nothing to the show except that everytime I see her on the screen I wanna punch her!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey have already implied that laurel was a capable fighter in episode 3 when she saved Oliver and Tommy in the club, shes not on the the same level as Oliver but I would say they have already thought about the possible Canary angle early on in the series.
ReplyDeleteYeah I thought the same thing, when his hand shakes after his anger.
ReplyDeleteYeah I also had Detective Lance on my list, I also have a niggle that it could also be Thea, this opens so many options storyline wise with Oliver and Roy and the impact the death would be big.
ReplyDeleteMy list is.
Thea.
Detective Lance.
Moria.
Diggle.
It wouldn't make sense for them to waste screen time on the funeral of a minor/recurring character, especially so late in the season, which narrows down the possibilities... We have gotten hints from the producers/cast that there is more to come for some characters:
ReplyDeleteThe Diggle storyline with HIVE/his brother/Suicide Squad is not over.
Roy is heading toward becoming 'Arsenal'.
Felicity's backstory will be explored more in season 3.
Sara and Oliver's relationship will be in a different place at the end of the season (implying she will be alive).
Quentin was envisioned to be Arrow's Commissioner Gordon (implying they plan for him to be around for a while) and in he might soon discover the Arrow's identity (the producers have said that when someone knows that Oliver is the Arrow it draws them into the story more).
One story arc this season was to tell Laurel's story; it seems pointless to put her through everything she's been through this season only to die.
This leaves Thea and Moira. My money is on Moira. There seems to be more story to tell with Thea since we know big things are coming for her and she interacts with more characters than Moira. Moira seems less necessary as a character to me at this point (how many more secrets can she have that drive the plot forward?).
They've also talked about another BoP storyline that they have in mind for S3 with Black Canary, Huntress and Felicity. Which again makes Sara for S3.
ReplyDeleteAnother possibility is that they are faking someone's death...
ReplyDeleteKatie Cassidy has been confirmed for next season.
ReplyDeleteThat would make sense. I think they want him out of the way so that it's just Oliver versus Slade.
ReplyDeleteIt's been done so many times before, why not do it again?
ReplyDeleteAccording to Twitter Caity Lotz is at the table read for 2.22, so she's not the death in 2.21
ReplyDeleteAccording to twitter caity lotz and paul blackthorne are at the table read for 222.
ReplyDeleteIn Caity's case, it could just be flashback stuff.
ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt they'd kill her off in Starling but keep her alive for the flashback. In any case people were using the fact that she was done filming 21 before others as proof that she was the death in 21. If that can be proof of death than being at the table read for 22 should be proof of life. Right?
ReplyDeleteNone of it is proof. It's all just circumstantial evidence and I'm just positing an alternate theory.
ReplyDeleteWhere was Katie Cassidy confirmed for next season?
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right, but follow Caity Lotz on Twitter and haven't seen anything about her being at the table read for the last episodes. The best we can hope for is that the show stages a fake death for Sara, to explain her disappearing from Starling City to return to the League of Assassins & Nyssa--as repayment for the LOA helping Team Arrow defeat Team Slade in an epic battle in the season finale. [See, Writers: there IS an alternative to killing Sara...and it would allow her to be part of a separate "Birds of Prey" TV series.]
ReplyDeletewho da heck is that in the pic^^^? I don't know if its nobody or what, there is too much in it.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you it's not proof, my point was that people were using something circumstantial as proof of Death, therefore the counter logic to their arguments is that she's confirmed for 22 so obviously she's not the death.
ReplyDeleteBTW there's a rumor/spoiler floating around that if true confirms Sara isn't the death in 21...not to mention the fact that Caity Lotz confirmed Sara was in the show for the rest of the season and as I said, I can't imagine this show killing her in the present but keeping her alive in the past for a couple of extra episodes just to kill her off again on the Island. That would be so anti-climatic it would be laughable.
I really liked Laurel in Birds of Prey!
ReplyDeleteShe could be reading for island scenes.
ReplyDeleteWhat would be the point of killing Sara in Starling in 221 and keeping her on the Island for 2 more episodes just to give us the most anti-climatic death ever?
ReplyDeleteBesides there's information on Reddit that if true tells exactly who dies and how and it's not Sara. The person that dies actually makes sense in relation to other information we have for 21-23.
I saw those spoilers on Reddit as well and i think it makes a lot of sense, i'm just saying that a person being or not being present at a table read doesn't mean anything. I really don't think they are going to kill Sara.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your reply--and the replies of the others below regarding the Reddit spoilers. Again: I'm hopeful that Sara is NOT the person killed because Caity Lotz adds so much to my enjoyment of Arrow, and has worked so hard with her character(s). We'll have to wait & see.
ReplyDeletePlease do not kill off Sarah. I am pretty sure Felicity
ReplyDeletewhere did you got these spoilers?
