DANGER ZONE | After running into Slade, Thea is in a lot of danger, previews Guggenheim. “And the sword of Damocles that’s being held over her in [next week's episode] is a double-edged sword – it’s both physical and emotional – and I can guarantee that by the end of [Episode] 18, one of those edges is going to cut her.” The EP also adds that Thea will learn “something pretty massive” in the next hour that “will cause a tectonic shift in her relationship with Oliver.”
BROKEN HEARTS, BIG CLIFFHANGERS | Young lovebirds Thea and Roy had to go kaput “to upset the apple cart,” explains the EP. “She is the only thing that keeps him in check. She keeps him grounded. It was also, if we were going to place Thea in jeopardy, we wanted Roy to feel some sense of complicity in that. Episode 18 is a very big episode. We sort of wrote it as a mid-midseason finale. In fact, when we turned in Episode 18 to the studio, the studio was like, ‘You do know you’ve got to do five more episodes, right?’ Episode 18 really could play as a season finale, just in terms of the number of things that happen and the number of cliffhangers that we’re left with. And one of those things is Roy dealing with his own sense of responsibility” in what’s happened to Thea.

This looks awesome. I can't wait for Wednesday's episode.
ReplyDeleteI hope next episode is kick ass. Sounds like a great episode. Enough with Lance girls and their drama. Concentrate on Slade from now on.
ReplyDeletei blame Guggenheim for the Lance sisters melodrama. Thats why i would like to hear from anybody but him. I am hoping that now with Kreisberg and Berlanti back i can enjoy the last episodes much more.
ReplyDelete- So Thea either finds out about Malcolm or finds out about the Arrow. Either way, it's probably not good news for her relationship with Oliver.
ReplyDelete- What are the odds Roy finds a way to blame Oliver for Thea's abduction? Even if he doesn't, the classic D-bag Roy temperament is sure to be making a comeback.
- I'm not invested much at all in who Roy turns out to be. I think the show should work on making the character more enjoyable before then.
- "A series of showdowns?" If Oliver had the wherewithal to pack the arrow that hit Slade with some C-4 his problem would be over without the hassle of any follow-up showdowns.
- I certainly don't mind Huntress coming back for season three but I was half expecting her to show up in this season's finale. Somehow, I got it in my head that the finale would be all of Oliver's allies from far and wide (even Nyssa if Slade kills Sara by then) plus the Suicide Squad versus Deathstroke.
- I'm telling everyone right now - Quentin already knows that Oliver is the Arrow. He just doesn't have any physical proof and he doesn't want any proof either. Quentin wants plausible deniability.
I just don't want to hear from Guggenheim anymore. He is the julie plec of this show with all the shipper baiting. This is what I feared when they said they are going to do a flash spin off. Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti is busy with Flash pilot and the lack of quality is really visible.
ReplyDeleteGuggenheim is a huge BC and Dinah Laurel Lance fan. He is the main advocate of Laurel. I don't have a problem with that if he can write Laurel well. I am tired of the importance given to Lance girls and especially the bad writing associated with it.
They really should find a cure for mirakuru by the next few episodes so that Roy can get out of this always angry doped up mode. I do like him but at this point he is just a one note character now. May be the flash characters will help Felicity find a cure for mirakuru in 219.
ReplyDeleteMy main issue with bringing huntress now into the show was that I don't see her fighting on Oliver's behalf this season. At least SS would play a part in taking down Oliver. They could have brought Huntress next season when this much plot threads are not hanging open.
Quentin definitely knows Oliver is Arrow. He is the detective Gordon of Arrow. He simply don't want to accept it.
The Huntress could be recruited to the Suicide Squad. They do have a current vacancy.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I know. But it was all so contrived and unbelievable it was like breaking suddenly while going at high speed.
ReplyDeleteI would love that. Imagine Huntress, Deadshot and Bronze Tiger riling up Diggle and Oliver. It will be lots of fun. But sadly we will see her only in season 3 that too if Sara survives. If Sara dies it will take more than one year for Laurel to become BC.
ReplyDeleteStrangely, no word on Isabel Rochev in this interview, whereas she's all over the promo pictures unveiled recently. I have no doubt it's made on purpose. Hopefully, we will have many interviews with Summer just like what they did before the episode in Russia 2.06 "Keep Your Enemies Closer".
ReplyDeletemaybe it better to keep her role hush hush and that she likely won't be around that much longer
ReplyDeleteI super disagree with the lack if quality. I think ths show is still great. But if the show was focusing on a charter I dislike, like Roy, I probably won't be super into it either.
ReplyDeleteBut, whatever, you'll get your wish. Sara will die
The quality of episodes went down after Three Ghosts. If you compare first half of episodes to the second you can see it. And then when i read Guggenheim's interviews it just makes me wonder if he is watching the same show i am watching. I really had to roll my eyes when i read that he said that the bond between Felicity and Oliver is messy. Now i would have said the whole Oliver+sister swapping thing was messy but then again i am not sure I am watching the same show as Guggenheim. It almost seems like that part of the Sara hooking up with Oliver plot line was used to bring Oliver and Laurel closer again. And i wasn't even surprised that in the middle of season 2 they showed Felicity so OOC, when one of the producers goes on saying he doesn't know why the character of Felicity is so liked by the fans.
