I get that it's a trap and all but if her goal is to kill her father why didn't she just do it right there? She obviously has some escape plan so why not just put an arrow though his head and leave?
She had her shot before they showed up and she didn't take it. If she hadn't started speechifying she could have ended him and left before the authorities entered.
Maybe, but judging from the smoke, screams and probable explosion that occurred moments before, which would set off a lockdown and police response as well as the fact Oliver would attempt to stop her, I doubt she would've been able to kill him or escape.
i think she is worried what will happen.. after she does it. Perhaps not so much if she lives or dies after it happens, but how she will.. cope without having that desire to finish him off.
I'd like to think she's having a crisis of conscience or at least worrying about this being a hollow victory if she finishes him off. I'll cross my fingers that her hesitation can be chalked up to one of those two things.
Maybe she is just unsure what she will do next. This was the plan all along, take down his organisation from the inside. Seems she has basically done that. Killing him completes than plan, which is why she is hesitating. Once its done, its done.
I love Huntress and Helena very much and I am happy to see her again. But her visit is so unnecessary this season as of now when so many other story lines are out there in the open. Producers are so much invested in making the comic book fans trend in twitter they are not really interested in continuity of the story. I am sure this episode will be a good watch as a stand alone episode and I will enjoy it. They just wanted to give the name BoP to an episode and worked around it. Atleast Suicide Squad will be used for final battle with Deathstroke. I don't think Helena will help them against Slade. This looks like one more episode where they will act like Roy does not exist, Thea and Moira will be on TV, Felicity will say a throw away dialogue and try to be funny. There are other ways to improve Laurel's character. How about an honest talk with her sister about the past and last few years without it being about Oliver. That will give some depth to them.
"Why not just put an arrow through his head and leave?" Hahahaha Well it wouldn't be very comic book if she just killed him and didn't have a chance to break out the "daddy" card. Lol They always gotta have "the talk". I wish she would just do it, but she probably needs him for something. = /
I'm glad they got Jeffrey Nordling (Frank Bertinelli) back for this episode, because when he was unavailable for 1x17 and they had to show Helena's father from the back all the time and conveniently obscure his face, that was pretty distracting.
No one in TV/movies/comics/any type of fiction EVER just shoots instead of speechfying (or letting the other person speechify) for an hour, do they? Jesus. It actually cracked me up once on Supernatural (3x03) when they did a send-up of that, with Dean starting to give Bela the "I happen to be able to read people" speech and then - BAM! She shoots Sam and cuts through the crap. I mean, I hated Bela like most people but I loved it when she made Dean STFU instead of just standing there and listening to the BS. LOL.
Lmfao!!! I loveee that episode! Bad day at Black Rock! That's gotta be on my list of top 10 favorite episodes....Dean: "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU LADY?!?! You can't just go around shooting people." Hahahaha good times.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThey'll start shooting, she'll be dead before her father even hit the ground.

ReplyDeleteThe last thing she mentioned before the clip ended indicated she had a contingency / escape plan so I doubt it will be an obstacle.

ReplyDeleteYep. That's what I mean by hollow victory.
ReplyDeletethen I totally agree. With Dracula likely to be canceled, we might see more of the Huntress :)

Damn that was intense. I was all into it. Then came the voice..Arrow, Wednesdays at 8. F***. Lmao. Can't wait to see this. It's gonna be sooo good.

That 'cutting through the crap' doesn't happen nearly often enough as far as I'm concerned.

ReplyDeleteSo everyone knows she's Helena Bertinelli? Why is she even bothering with a mask, then?
