Remember those creepy/brilliant-looking American Horror Story: Circus drawings that made their way around the internet last year? Apparently, they were on to something.
“It doesn’t have a title, but that’s the idea,” American Horror Story scribe Douglas Petrie confirmed during the Nerdist Writers Panel podcast when a co-panelist asked if “carnival” would be the theme. ”Very roughly, that’s the idea.”
Creator Ryan Murphy already announced that Season 4 will take place in the 1950s, but this is the first official confirmation of the circus aspect.

Yesss! Hopefully it will have the same creep factor as Asylum. So excited for the new season!
ReplyDeleteI kinda expected that. I'd love AHS to go down the vampire route tough, not the 'Originals' or 'True Blood' route but the classic Nosferatu one
ReplyDeleteI hate clowns, I´m gonna have nightmares after the episodes :D
ReplyDeleteShould be fun if true!
ReplyDeleteSame here. Clowns are creepy.
ReplyDeleteSo Ryan Murphy lied.
ReplyDeleteFrom an EW interview:
People seem to really want American Horror Story: Circus.I saw those posters. I don’t know where people came up with that idea. Sometimes I think its people wanting us to do topics and doing fan posters. No one has completely guessed what it is.
But then again, everything about AHS is creepy, so clowns will be even creepier than normal :D
ReplyDeleteOr Interview with The Vampire
ReplyDeleteWe can't trust any writter now. Just look at Moffat
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! And also really creepy...
ReplyDeleteI just started American Horror Story on Netflix this weekend and so far enjoying it. Shows pretty weird though.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the only Stephen King story to give me nightmares.
ReplyDeleteyeahhh that will be awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh i expect the official announcement on Paileyfest, this should be a great season with that theme. Go for those weird lookind clowns
ReplyDeleteHa, sorry. Could not resist !
ReplyDeleteI was happily scrolling down all free and happy and then bam. That. If I was allowed to swear on here, there would be expletitives flowing your way about now ;)
ReplyDeleteThe original Salem's Lot is still the only film to give me nightmares. I was very young when I watched it.
ReplyDeleteto be fair Originals kinda goes down the Interview with the Vampire direction already
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember how Ryan Murphy denied this? HA! I had a feeling this would be it regardless of what he said.
ReplyDeleteI remember when Ryan Murphy said that Kathy Bate's character was set to be the best friend of Jessica Lange's character, and then become mortal enemies in Coven. I don't remember that happening...
ReplyDeleteHmm, I wonder what the clues were at the end of Season 3..
ReplyDeleteBesides, didn't Ryan Murphy say it WASN'T circus/carnival? ...Ha, wait. Ryan Murphy. Right.
Oh great! First killer Santa Clause and now killer clowns. How terrifyingly amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteThat sucks, was it thanks to It Movie?
ReplyDeleteYeah, plus many others :D And when I was little I saw this drunk clown in circus who was breaking all the stuff around him and it seemed really scary at that time. I guess it stayed with me this whole time.
