Glenn Talbot, the man who spent years hunting the Incredible Hulk in the comics, will receive new life this April courtesy of actor Adrian Pasdar in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Pasdar will don Tablot’s signature moustache and military garb in an upcoming episode of the hit series, and just as the character proved a thorn in the Hulk’s side through the decades, the actor hints he’ll cause some trouble for our favorite Agents as well.
While we can’t say too much about when, where, why or how Talbot will make his debut, we had the chance to chat with Pasdar himself to get a taste of what his character will bring to the show, the amount of research that went into this role and much more!
Marvel.com: I had to open up here by saying we talk quite a bit for all our animated shows, so it’s kind of unique and strange that I now get to talk to you about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Adrian Pasdar: Yeah, it’s the same universe but a whole different galaxy!
Marvel.com: To start with, how did your role as Glenn Talbot come about with S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Adrian Pasdar: In the same way that Iron Man [in “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”] came up. I got a call from my good friend, ["Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Executive Producer] Jeph Loeb. “Would you come and do this role?” and I read the character description and I thought, “Oh man. Here it is again. The sanctimonious [jerk]. That’s what they’re coming to me for.” [laughs] His way’s the only way! I said, “Jeph, are you trying to tell me something?” He said, “No, not at all! Nobody can play this quite like you, but no.” [laughs] So he came to me and I said yes.

interesting........even though Hulk won't show up there is still some connection to him by someone pursuing him
ReplyDeleteNice I have a soft-spot for Adrian. I wonder if he will still be looking for Hulkie or someone else - considering the world seemed to embrace Hulk at the end of the Avengers if he is trying to cause trouble it won't go down well.

ReplyDeleteThis is significant; both in terms of the character and the actor they've chosen. Ironically, I just finished watching Season 1 of Heroes for the first time on Netflix. Pasdar did a good job, but given what I've heard about the show's rapid decline, I'm apprehensive about moving on to Season 2.

I would but I don't the Avengers Assemble cartoon - the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon which was cancelled for AA was so much better, shame but at least Adrian has work!

ReplyDeleteI would advise against that, personally. Season 2 is very meh, and Seasons 3-4, except for a brief renaissance in the second half of Season 3 (which still manages to fall apart in the last 3-4 episodes), are downright awful. It's not like Season 1 even ended on a cliffhanger that you HAVE to find out the resolution to or anything. The good in Seasons 2-4 of Heroes is far outweighed by the bad so it's just not worth it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning. Given that I've heard similar reports from several other people in the meantime, I will probably just let it go at Season 1. I don't really want to watch the better elements of what was already a somewhat flawed show go completely down the tubes. It would be nice if Heroes: Reborn managed to recover the promise the series once had.
ReplyDeleteIn any event, it's not like we're starved for superhero shows now. I have no idea how Heroes: Reborn will manage to compete with the awesomeness of Arrow.
I might've given Heroes: Reborn a chance if Heroes' showrunner, Tim Kring, wasn't at the helm. He obviously has great ideas but is far less talented at actually bringing them to the screen, and I can't help largely faulting him for Heroes going downhill. (His reportedly calling fans "dumbasses" for nitpicking doesn't help.)
ReplyDeleteAgreed; his being in charge doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I've seen too many shows fail because of showrunners with huge egos (Stargate Universe being a prime example).
