Chose Alan from 2 & 1/2 men. Single reason I never gave the show a chance. Also picked "Other" Shaw - Person of Interest Sophie - 2 Broke Girls (seriously, how did the creator NOT pick her but put the 2 leads in????)
I actually really liked Mary Margaret S1 and S2A and Snow in flashback but the Snow/MM in S3 was poorly written... I used to LOVE Emma/Snow (I watch their hug in 2x03 a million times) but their relationship was a let down in S3 because of MM + Snowing it starting to become annoying... I hope it' gonna be good again in S3B
Elena Gilbert, probably. But to be clear, not Nina Dobrev's fault.I think she's lovely and the same goes for the majority of the actors.I just think that the VD writers dropped the ball a long time ago.
Pi should have made the list instead of Alexis. But I voted for Mary Margaret/Snow White, because since the half-way of Season 2 she has been an absolute pain. Bandit Snow flashbacks are okay, but otherwise she just annoys me.
Grey's Anatomy Leah Murphy. I really don't like that character, and even though I love Arizona, I hated Leah long before that diabolical storyline in 10a. Now if only Leah could disappear in 10B.
I agree with you completely! Snow has become an absolute idiot. And I really hope too that they can improve the character or just take it out of its misery.
Other: Stephen from The Tomorrow People, can't really tell you why but I just don't like him. John on the other hand is a keeper. ;) Charlie from Supernatural: She thinks she is perfect, always has to talk down to Sam and Dean and has to rescue these guys that have been hunters all their lives..UGH The Ghostfacers from Supernatural: Not a fan of grown men acting like they are 12.
I really don't find most of these characters annoying, so I went with "Other" and "Big Jim". I guess it comes down to personal taste. I like Miranda and April on Greys Anatomy and I think that Winston is one of the funniest characters on New Girls. He has this quirkly subtle style of humor that I love. Elena and Caroline are one of the better characters on The Vampire Diaries because they actually have a moral compass. Even though she isn't my #1 favorite character, I really don't see much to dislike in Mary Margaret, although I'm assuming that most of those votes are from Regina fans, which therefore means that she will most likely "win" this poll.
I liked Mary Margaret on OUAT in season 1, but I'm not a big fan of her as Snow White anymore. But OUAT has more annoying characters than her. One male one especially.
Omg. Elena is my favorite character. (2nd favorite out of every show I watch) why hate her? she is one of the strongest TV heroines Ive seen From The List: Big Jim (UTD), Winston (New Girl), Maggie (TCD) Not From The List: Bonnie (TVD), Coach (New Girl)
Half the reason I found her a little tiring was due to the amount of flashback we keep getting of her and Regina in season 3. I actually love both characters, but those flashbacks. Ugh, they're a waste sometimes.
I find Carol on The Walking Dead annoying actually, I've never really liked the character. And also Elena on The Vampire Diaries (I've stopped watching it now though, I think the show's gone downhill).
Other... Definitely my number 1 is Stefan Salvatore from TVD. I don't say this with the intention of starting a fandom war, people! I just find him irritating.
Mary Margaret on the list, and I have a love/hate relationship with Sheldon, annoying but funny. Off topic, I just realized how many "Maggie" characters are currently on TV--the two on the list plus The Walking Dead.
David/Charming from OUAT; Mary Margaret/Snow has her moments even if sometimes she drives me crazy, but Charming is just beyond annoying, which is sad considering Josh Dallas is a good actor.
Also, Laurel from Arrow, didn't like her on the first season and now I hate her; the way she treated Sara was beyond despicable, and she has become a train wreck
If you would have asked me this a couple of years ago I would have said Lana Lang from Smallville. Now though OUAT introduced Hook and he is making me cringe more than Lana ever did.
Caroline is annoying to me on TVD. Elena is the heart of the show. I think her character serves a subtle yet important purpose. People always wanting to save her is the way the writers convey that other characters need her around them. She's the reason I prefer TVD over TO. There's no one like her on TO, but there should be to balance out the fighting and treachery among all of those characters. Elijah isn't enough to play that kind of role in a story because of how his character is written. Some people claim that TO is more adult because of the subject matter, but I feel that the characters on that show are extremely immature.
What's the basis of the choices in this list? Like do you count the characters mentioned the most in other posts? Or do you just choose the characters that are personally annoying to YOU? Because there are a lot of choices in this list who are widely likeable.
I think this poll would be more effective if you make an open-ended kind of poll, you know the one SpoilerTV usually does when the list is exhaustive. You know, like, "Which frenemies do you like the most?" or "Who is the most doted wife?" since the choices can't be contained in one list.
I would have picked Junior, Angie, and Julia over Big Jim for most annoying in Under the Dome. I am actively rooting for their characters to die. Root from Person of Interest is high on my list as well. So are most of the characters from The Following. Others: Skye from SHIELD, Chang/Pierce from Community, Sara from White Collar, Alan from Helix, all the Mastersons from Revolution (but especially Rachel), Max from Dark Angel, Dawson and Joey from Dawson's Creek, Emma and Henry from OUaT, Alice's dad on Wonderland, and in general Sheldon from TBBT. Hall of Fame Annoying - Dawn from Buffy, Screech from Saved by the Bell, Urkel from Family Matters, and Garth from Supernatural.
I used to watch TVD, when I did, Bonnie and Elena were the most annoying people, in fact, Elena's "I can't" and the increase of Bonnie's importance are among the top reasons that made me drop the show.
Garth from Supernatural is at the top of my list. Some others like Laurel (Arrow), and Angie (UTD).
Sometimes Henry (OUAT), Elena (sad because I used to love her) (TVD), and Root (POI). Caroline (TVD) doesn't annoy me much since she became a vampire, but she does have her moments. A lot of people others find really annoying I don't. Maybe I have a higher tolerance. ha
Mary Margret - I think it's more of the writers not advancing her very far yet this season, so she comes off as too repetitive and too over reactive. I like the character and was glad for a little more Charming and Hook time, but I do hope we see something a little different from her before the season ends. (I'm still hoping for DarthSnow). I don't have a problem with Henry the way others do. I think his innocence is highly symbolic and I think it's rare to see a kid, especially a boy, stay that way.
Other: Alcide from True Blood. I didn't mind him in s3 or s4 so much, but the past couple of seasons he's gotten under my skin in bad way, of course I think part of the problem is the werewolf plot lines in particular aren't very good.
Other: Theon Greyjoy, 'Little Finger' - A Game of Thrones. I haven't read all of the books, so you;ll forgive me if Theon has a nice redemption arc coming, but so far he drives me absolutely nuts, let alone the writers need to drag out his torture scenes last season. Little Finger is surely a character that people love to hate, and I do hate him! :)
And if show's from the past count, then I will have to mention my least favorite character from Lost (and really the only character I point blank hated) Martin Keamy (no disrespect to Kevin Durand. He's a great actor). There was just nothing but pure disgusting from the character and I loved watching him die again in the Flash Sideways.
From the list, Elena (TVD). The ultimate Mary Sue - read, the character who we keep getting TOLD is perfect while being SHOWN the exact opposite. No matter how selfish she is and how much she doesn't give a rat's ass about her friends or family, only her harem of male admirers, the writers can't stop shoving down our throats how she's the sweetest and most compassionate person on the planet. And the more everyone risks their lives to try to save hers, which is for some reason much more important, the less we want them to succeed. She's self-pitying, self-centered, self-righteous (there's a reason for all of those "self"s...), stubborn, stupid, and pretty much everything that characterizes a Mary Sue.
Other: Laurel (Arrow), Klaus (TVD/The Originals/whatever show he happens to be on), Henry (OUaT). Don't even have the patience to start typing the reasons they're all annoying.
I have to disagree with the inclusion of Conrad (Revenge) and Caroline (TVD) on the list. They're great. And Mary Margaret (OUaT) isn't my favorite character, she's hardly one of the most annoying people on TV.
Oooh, I forgot Stephen! Right on. I think his sleeping with someone who has a boyfriend and not feeling even a tiny bit of guilt about it, demanding to know if she has feelings for him as a "condition" to leave her alone and stop trying to persuade her to leave her boyfriend for him (like she owes him anything), constantly heading into dangerous situations alone and unprepared like an idiot, and nearly killing his mother's boyfriend just for the sake of confirming a mere suspicion are at the top of my "Reasons Stephen Jameson Sucks" list.
I don't get why most of these characters are on this list. Conrad Grayson, Miranda Bailey, Alexis Castle, April Kepner and Mindy Lahiri are terrific characters! Big Jim Rennie on "Dome" however, is a very annoying character. He was the only one I could vote for really. There are far more annoying characters out there. Too many to mention even 10, cause I wouldn't know where to begin.
Oh yes I really never liked Dawn! Screech was really annoying but I also had pitty with him. You did not like Max from Dark Angel? I think the rest of Mastersons would be much more likable without Rachel.
I thought I was the only person annoyed by Sophie. I hate that the show creators try so hard to make us believe that she's the big character by applauding so hard every time she pops up!... she's not THAT funny.
Miranda Bailey is annoying? Wow, shocking to see how different people's perceptions can be. I don't watch Grey's anymore but I couldn't stand April Kepner back when I did. Wonder if her character has seen improvement. Lexie was a little annoying to begin with but she died as one of the most loved characters by me.
Elena never 'annoyed' me really till I was with TVD but a lot of her choices made her extremely unlikeable IMO.
And I LOVE Louis Litt. I know he very well fits the role of annoying character but he really isn't. He is so much fun to watch, I love his loyalty to the firm and his Tom-and-Jerry kind of relationship with Harvey. Suits just won't be the same without him.
Um ... none of them? I kinda don't get this list. I mean, Mary Margaret from OUAT? Miranda from GA - I mean, really, Miranda? Out of all of them, I'd have to go with Elena Gilbert from the list, although even she is hardly the most annoying thing about her show these days, plus (SPOILER) she's not even technically on her show right now.
I think I'll go with "other," which for me represents Laurel from Arrow (give Katie Cassidy something to do, Arrow writers) and Pi from Castle (the only reason Alexis had any annoying moments in the first place). I'm actually pretty tolerant of most characters people find annoying, like Henry from OUAT who I even kind of like sometimes, but those two drive me crazy, especially because I'm enjoying both of their shows quite a lot this year.
Dean Winchester? You gotta be kidding. He is the main reason more than half the Supernatural fans watch the show. Sam is the 'annoying' one...what with his "The world before my brother" & "depressing relationship" crap!
None of these characters (At least that I know) are annoying! Hanna Marin really? If you want someone from a specific show at least pick one that is famous for or is meant to be annoying for example: Junior (Under the Dome) Shana (Pretty Little Liars) etc
Exactly! The show would have been much better if they removed him (couldn't they send him to boarding school or something?) halfway through S2 (when he started to get really really annoying!). Still my fingers are crossed!
Agree with you on most points except for the one on Alexis Castle. She started getting annoying way before Pi. Just look at the Christmas episode in Season 5. There daddy Rick was proudly & nostalgically going through all the hand-made X-mas decorations Alexis made when she was a kid...and she shrugs it off saying it's all rubbish (remember she is no longer some rebellious teenager..she is in college for Pete's sake!). Adding further injury she says she can't be with Rick for Christmas day just cause of some new guy...capping it off saying 'he is just overreacting'. That episode alone ruined Alexis for me. She was such a sweet, caring & energetic character for 4 seasons..still wonder why the writers at Castle went down this road?
Henry-OUAT (this little kid might be little but he sure is annoying!) Aiden,Charlotte-Revenge (they both waste screen time) Arizona-Greys Anatomy Sophie-2 Broke Girls (every time shes on she wastes screen time) Elena, Caroline, Bonnie-The Vampire Diaries (these three girls are the most annoying and whiny group I've ever seen) Aria-PLL (she needs to get off the show ASAP) Walt-Carrie Diaries Laurel-Arrow (sooooooo whiny and boastful) Stephen-Tomorrow People Scarlett-Nashville (shes not that annoying but when she is...oh god)
That's fine. But to me, Dean has been ridiculously annoying for 5-6 years now. Its the same old stuff over and over again. And practically every season has a point where it turns into the Dean Show, with Sam as practically a guest star role. Dean gets all the major stories and then complains all the time. Although it may not just be the character and more the subpar seasons that the show has had post-Season 5.
I so agree with you on every point! I even didn't want to comment on this poll but I have to let you know you aren't alone to think this way- especially about Laurel & Pi!
I like Max in season 1of Dark Angel, but by season 2 all she ever did was whine and yell at people. Her self-pity became toxic very quickly for me. I have to say that when I watched an episode of Revolution from this season, I found Charlie much improved, actually the least annoying of the Mastersons. You may have something with the idea that killing off Rachel would dramatically improve the entire family.
Elena is probably the most mature out of the three in TVD. Caroline is the least mature. Bonnie is just a little bit selfish. Part of the problem could be that they mostly do girly stuff when all three of them are together. I'm pretty sure that if Katherine replaced Elena permanently in the group, Bonnie would become the most mature and Caroline the most annoying. I already find Caroline too annoying lately.
If Caroline gets killed off, people who can't stand her anymore will feel relieved while shippers will harass the EPs more than ever. I don't know how much more can be done with Caroline's character. She seems to be defined by love interests.
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Elena and so many characters on TVD are alarmingly petty focusing on highschool romances, when they are vampires, hybrids, immortals and witches which threaten Mystic Falls constantly, and all they can think about is Elena, Tyler, Caroline, Matt, Jeremy or whoever their love interest is.
With Caroline it sort of seems to matter who she's paired with. Some of the time she's fine and I like her but other times (like when she states how much she hates Damon in every episode even though that wasn't part of the conversation or when she's leaving Tyler 500 voice mails) she can be annoying.
Bonnie it seems like lost her entire personality. She sacrificed herself to bring back Jeremy and nobody even noticed she was dead. There is no way that had Elena died nobody would have noticed for months - like that. I wish Bonnie was more selfish and in Season 1 she had a personality but then she just became a doormat and is always being pushed around by the vampires.
I generally find Elena to be the most annoying of the three though. I think it's really the fact that she's in a perpetual love triangle with Stefan & Damon though. When she had normal family interactions early on in the show and when she was just hanging out with her friends and acting like a normal teenager in the first two seasons she was far more likable to me. Her obsession with the Salvatores though has taken over her entire life and I can't even remember the last time her and Jeremy actually acted like siblings.
I agree that the love triangle is getting old with Elena in it. Personally, I'd like to see Katherine in the middle of the triangle for a while as she possibly grows as a character. She seemed to have a little more heart than Nadia when it came to removing Elena's soul. She seemed disturbed by the idea, and then she killed the traveler who did it, which might have led to Elena getting out of that corpse. She got over it fast now that she's living Elena's life, but eventually that should catch up to her. Elena's life isn't that great. I think the only way to improve Elena herself is to give her a new body and make her an angry badass after what she went through. It would be so cool if it turns out that Elena is one of those travelers, and she decided to get even with Damon. If she's no longer a doppelganger, she might not feel any further attachment to the Salvatore brothers. I keep thinking back to that scene where Nadia announced her intention to get rid of Elena, and Katherine looked like she was about to make a phone call. Maybe I misread what I was seeing, but that's how I remember it.
Who in their right mind would find Conrad Grayson annoying? Despicable, sure, but annoying? Not a chance. His wit is one of the best parts of the show and he has a delightful sense of humor. They should have gone with someone else for Revenge...Ashley or Charlotte or Daniel maybe. Even Emily would have been a better option.
Me too. Worst forced canned laughter ever. Easily top 5 worst characters this decade. I like the additions they made this year with the gay guy at the diner, Deek & the pastry school guy Caroline has a thing for. They can get rid of Sophie now & no one would ever even notice.
I found Sophie moderately bearable the 1st season she was there. Shes just a walking punchline now, and whats worse, its usually unfunny schticks. The WORST part of her though, the fact 2BG forces that canned laughter in everytime she enters the diner/apartment, like the audience at home is supposed to believe a live studio audience is literally doing high fives & wetting themselves at her arrival.
BONNIE SELFISH????? SHE DIED FOR HER FRIENDS, AND SHE BECOMES PART OF SOMETHING SHE KNOWS WILL EVENTUALLY KILL HER SINCE SEASON 1 BUT DOES SO ANYWAY, SHE PUSHED HER GRAMS INTO DOING A SPELL TO SAVE STEFAN, KNOWING NEITHER OF THEM COULD HANDLE IT, SHE HELPED STEFAN SAVE DAMON, WHEN ALL DAMON DID AT THAT POINT WAS KILL, AND SHE HATED HIM.... Bonnie is far from selfish.
And i dont find Caroline annoying personally, i like her a lot, shes grown heaps, and her friendship with Stefan is the best.
You've never seen much dislike for Snow/MM? I see more dislike of her than pretty much any other character barring Henry. Almost every website has a lot of commenters that hate her and not just Regina fans either.
I don't recalls Max beeing so whiny in S2. Have to rewatch my DVDs. Mostly I still feel the shock of not having a solved endin. For me Rachel is an interesting character but does not fit in the Mastersons and Monroe storyline, it would have made more sense for me if she were part of Aarons story. Sometimes it feels as if they have two series sharing the same screentime and world.
hehe no way they are FAR, FAR AWAY from that!!, but yeah Kat is really good and without a doubt she has potential to become a great comedy actress, but not being in this show, but well that's just my opinion.
Carl from The Walking Dead. I've never really cared for him. My husband and I usually dislike the solo child/teenager characters of a show, for example Dawn on Buffy and Conner on Angel. I also disliked Charlotte during the first several episodes of Revenge this season. None of the actors are bad, they just play annoying characters.
I have no problems with Mary Margaret OUAT, Snow White, on the other hand, I can't stand her!!!! Charming, Henry - OUAT Alan Harper .- Two an .... April Kepner and lately Meredith Grey - Grey's Anatomy
The only good thing about it was Regina's 10 second scene just laughing at Snow. I really didn't see the point in the flashback. And the CGI for Medusa... Don't get me started.
Wow, this thread is long. Too bad all of the good shows, IMO, are on hiatus due to the Olympics while shows I don't care about are still airing. Updates would be nice, but the CW is taking its time.
I didn't think Aaron was annoying until this season, You're right his storyline is boring and we could totally go without it. I barely remember what happened because it's so dull right now. I read the synopsis for the next episode, and it seems to be improving, let's hope it turns out exciting after all.
I can think of many characters that I find annoying. Number one would have to be Jo and every single intern on Grey's Anatomy. I just couldn't stand them and their "only fit for the Disney channel" acting – they were the reasons I stopped watching the show.
Also, Coach on New Girl. Never liked him since the pilot and never understood why people became excited when he came back this season. Not-so-stellar acting as well, especially when he laughs because it sounds so contrived.
Carrie Bradshaw from The Carrie Diaries is terrible and doesn't give justice to SJP's depiction of the character. Her nerdy best friend is also such a pain to watch and is the most annoying one on the show.
Oleg from Two Broke Girls doesn't amuse me as well – I think he brings the show down with his overly crude manner. Not my type of humor at all.
There are many others but those are just from the top of my head.
No, question. That would be Jennifer Coolidge's Sophie, who's been shoe-horned into every episode of "2 Broke Girls" for the past 2 years. She's been at least decent in other stuff (i.e. "Joey" or the "American Pie" movies), but that fake Polish accent is just nails on a chalkboard here.
I think the writers were trying to create an scene-stealing Urkel or Fonzie-type character. Unfortunately, when you do that *intentionally*, they're more likely to be annoying as hell. I think the worst part is that forced applause you hear every time she comes on. I feel like yelling "BOO!" to cancel it out.
Elena Moral Compass? She planned genocide for the sake of committing genocide for a selfish reason. She tried to kill rebekah many times and tell men to use rebekah to get information after hurting rebekah. Caroline is okay with betraying Tyler twice for her gange and she didn't care about chris because he wasn't part of the gang
Role Model? Yes, Elena, the person who is okay with killing a whole race of vampires is great to look up to and someone who breaks up two brothers. They were getting along until elena broke up with stefan for damon. She is the worst protagonist ever
Elena gilbert is such a hypocrite. People have to forgive her for killing people they care about but she won't forgive people for doing small things to her.
Stefan and Damon were enemies in the beginning. If she did anything its bring them closer. Yea killing a whole race of vampires it bad. Im not disagreeing on that. She is strong, after everything shes been through losing her parents and almost everyone she loves she still smiles and thats the thing I love about her
As a role model of a strong main character, pick Veronica Mars. Elena is "Oh, I am so compassionate but let's kill a whole race of vampires just in case I can't bear being a vampire myself".
I am surprised, I thought Caroline was one of the most popular characters in TVD! She is actually written to be annoying but I care about her a lot more than about Elena, Bonnie and Jeremy.
What about Sookie from True Blood? I find her annoying as hell. But, then, I haven't found yet any human female main character in a tv series/movie saga that isn't annoying. It seems like a prerequisite of the genre.
Without a doubt, the most annoying character for me would have to be Nikita (Maggie Q version) from the series of the same name. Why? She is:
Self righteous Thinks she can decide everything for everybody else Is a MASSIVE hypocrite on just about very level - eg: its OK to kill when it suites her, but when others try to make their own decisions, she is always there to remind them that they are less self righteous than she is. 'Oh my bleeding heart' - need I say more about that one? Arrogant to the extreme Acts like she is always in charge of everything, as if everyone else is too stupid to decide things for themselves This would all be OK if she actually stuck to her guns, but she keeps on crossing her own moral line, making the character seem weak, rather than driven. Needs a few more brain cells - keeps on making stupid decisions based what she wants (not necessarily what is the 'right' thing to do) And more...
NOTE: I actually really like the 'Nikita' series, it's just that the more I watch it, the more I dislike the actions, personality and development of the main character, and more I like the supporting characters - I think Alex is a much better character than Nikita, & LF would have made a better Nikita than MQ, its not only the fact than she looks good for the role, but she knows how to pull off the 'seething but driven and caring' feel to her character well, rather than the childish tantrums that we get from Nikita when things don't go her way
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Chose Alan from 2 & 1/2 men. Single reason I never gave the show a chance.
ReplyDeleteAlso picked "Other"
Shaw - Person of Interest
Sophie - 2 Broke Girls (seriously, how did the creator NOT pick her but put the 2 leads in????)
Aaron from Revolution

ReplyDeleteIn what universe is Louis Litt considered annoying?...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you completely! Snow has become an absolute idiot. And I really hope too that they can improve the character or just take it out of its misery.
ReplyDeleteBonnie tvd
ReplyDeleteOther: Stephen from The Tomorrow People, can't really tell you why but I just don't like him. John on the other hand is a keeper. ;)
ReplyDeleteCharlie from Supernatural: She thinks she is perfect, always has to talk down to Sam and Dean and has to rescue these guys that have been hunters all their lives..UGH
The Ghostfacers from Supernatural: Not a fan of grown men acting like they are 12.
Other: Laurel Lance (Arrow)
ReplyDeleteLAUREL.
ReplyDeleteI really don't find most of these characters annoying, so I went with "Other" and "Big Jim". I guess it comes down to personal taste. I like Miranda and April on Greys Anatomy and I think that Winston is one of the funniest characters on New Girls. He has this quirkly subtle style of humor that I love. ReplyDeleteI liked Mary Margaret on OUAT in season 1, but I'm not a big fan of her as Snow White anymore. But OUAT has more annoying characters than her. One male one especially.
ReplyDeleteOther: Emma from OUAT
ReplyDeleteand in the last episodes Lavon from HOD
Caroline from TVD gets my vote, maybe talk with a less high pitch...or generally how about speaking less ?
ReplyDeleteHow about not giving her any lines ?
I voted Mary M though I love Snow White!
ReplyDeleteSnow White, mostly because the SnowxCharming and MMxDavid storyline has been a pain since season one.
ReplyDeleteLaurel!
ReplyDeleteCaroline, Elena from TVD.
ReplyDeleteBig Jim from UTD.
Other: Thea Queen from Arrow!
I love mr. Alan Harper :-)
ReplyDeleteOmg. Elena is my favorite character. (2nd favorite out of every show I watch) why hate her? she is one of the strongest TV heroines Ive seen
ReplyDeleteFrom The List: Big Jim (UTD), Winston (New Girl), Maggie (TCD)
Not From The List: Bonnie (TVD), Coach (New Girl)
I find Felicity Smoak annoying so does my sister and we never agree with each other but voted for Big Jim Rennie
ReplyDeleteDo not understand people's love for her
ReplyDeleteAlexis Castle and Mary Margaret are on this list? Ouch.
ReplyDeleteHenry Mills is not on this list? Weird.
However she is better than some other people on Arrow and other shows at the moment
ReplyDeleteMary Margret From QUAT she has got more annoying over the seasons.
ReplyDeletealso not from the list Shaw person of interest and Rachel from revolution.
I don't understand the presence of some characters in that list, and I find weird the absence of others characters which clearly deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI think if Henry from OUAT was part of the poll, he would have been giving Elena a run for her money.
ReplyDeleteMary Margret from OUAT.
ReplyDeleteLaurel Lance from Arrow!!!!!! Every time I see her on the screen I want to punch her!!!!
ReplyDeleteOn the list I chose Alan Harper from 2 1/2 men. But off the list my vote goes for Carl from the Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteI know. It seems odd to chose Mary Margaret over Henry for the poll.
ReplyDeleteElena Gilbert, Mary Margaret, Prince Charming, Henry and Winston Bishop.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about her, she is annoying as hell.
ReplyDeleteOther: Linda (the police chief) from Under the Dome
ReplyDeleteRevenge - Aiden Mathews, he is really good looking but as he opens his mouth I get a seizure.
ReplyDeleteHalf the reason I found her a little tiring was due to the amount of flashback we keep getting of her and Regina in season 3. I actually love both characters, but those flashbacks. Ugh, they're a waste sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI find Carol on The Walking Dead annoying actually, I've never really liked the character. And also Elena on The Vampire Diaries (I've stopped watching it now though, I think the show's gone downhill).
ReplyDeleteOther... Definitely my number 1 is Stefan Salvatore from TVD. I don't say this with the intention of starting a fandom war, people! I just find him irritating.
ReplyDeleteMary Margaret on the list, and I have a love/hate relationship with Sheldon, annoying but funny. Off topic, I just realized how many "Maggie" characters are currently on TV--the two on the list plus The Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteLaurel from Arrow , Zoe from HoD,
ReplyDeleteSheldon Cooper.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, she has been my least favorite character on the show.
ReplyDeleteDana from Homeland, can't stand her scenes.
ReplyDeleteSophie - 2 Broke Girls
ReplyDeleteDavid/Charming from OUAT; Mary Margaret/Snow has her moments even if sometimes she drives me crazy, but Charming is just beyond annoying, which is sad considering Josh Dallas is a good actor.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Laurel from Arrow, didn't like her on the first season and now I hate her; the way she treated Sara was beyond despicable, and she has become a train wreck
Elena Gilbert.
ReplyDeleteMy second choice would be Marnie.
Elena Gilbert has become unbearable !
ReplyDeleteFrom series I watch- Elena, Blonde and Damon, but lately I feel like almost everyone is annoying (TVD)
ReplyDelete- Lukrezia Donati (DVD)
- Beth (TWD)
- Mushroom twins (TW)
- Alana (Hannibal)
- Lucy (Dracula)
From series I dropped
- Sophie (2BG)
- Ray's wife (RD)
If you would have asked me this a couple of years ago I would have said Lana Lang from Smallville. Now though OUAT introduced Hook and he is making me cringe more than Lana ever did.
ReplyDeletePi, from Castle, Alan, from two& a half men
ReplyDeleteOh really, why Sophie? I find her so fun!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, yes!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with
ReplyDeleteLaurel Lance - Arrow
Abby Sciuto - NCIS
Caroline is annoying to me on TVD. Elena is the heart of the show. I think her character serves a subtle yet important purpose. People always wanting to save her is the way the writers convey that other characters need her around them. She's the reason I prefer TVD over TO. There's no one like her on TO, but there should be to balance out the fighting and treachery among all of those characters. Elijah isn't enough to play that kind of role in a story because of how his character is written. Some people claim that TO is more adult because of the subject matter, but I feel that the characters on that show are extremely immature.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the basis of the choices in this list? Like do you count the characters mentioned the most in other posts? Or do you just choose the characters that are personally annoying to YOU? Because there are a lot of choices in this list who are widely likeable.
ReplyDeleteI think this poll would be more effective if you make an open-ended kind of poll, you know the one SpoilerTV usually does when the list is exhaustive. You know, like, "Which frenemies do you like the most?" or "Who is the most doted wife?" since the choices can't be contained in one list.
Other: Cally (Battlestar Galactica) - biggest, most annoying, whiny, bitching creature in all of existence.
ReplyDeleteI would have picked Junior, Angie, and Julia over Big Jim for most annoying in Under the Dome.
ReplyDeleteNo Laurel or Dana?
ReplyDeleteI used to watch TVD, when I did, Bonnie and Elena were the most annoying people, in fact, Elena's "I can't" and the increase of Bonnie's importance are among the top reasons that made me drop the show.
Blaine from Glee.
ReplyDeletesince season 4 Blaine is getting annoying with all the "lead role"
Mathis*
ReplyDeleteShe was fun in first season.
ReplyDeleteGarth from Supernatural is at the top of my list. Some others like Laurel (Arrow), and Angie (UTD).
ReplyDeleteSometimes Henry (OUAT), Elena (sad because I used to love her) (TVD), and Root (POI).
ReplyDeleteOther: Alcide from True Blood.
Elizabeth-The Blacklist
ReplyDeleteJoe Carroll- The Following
Emma- The Following
HENRY MILLS - ONCE UPON A TIME
ReplyDeleteNatalie Martinez is in the Secrets and Lies pilot. If that show takes off, maybe they'll kill Linda.
ReplyDeleteMary Margaret is the most useless character that i ever seen
ReplyDeleteFrom the list, Elena (TVD).
ReplyDeleteOther: Laurel (Arrow), Klaus (TVD/The Originals/whatever show he happens to be on), Henry (OUaT).
Mary Margaret, Alan Harper, and Other - Dean Winchester.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I forgot Stephen!
ReplyDeleteI don't get why most of these characters are on this list.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I really never liked Dawn! Screech was really annoying but I also had pitty with him.
ReplyDeleteYou did not like Max from Dark Angel? I think the rest of Mastersons would be much more likable without Rachel.
LOL, OK all of the above.
ReplyDeleteI love Conrad, he's what TVTropes defines as "Magnificent Bastard". :) And his lines are killer.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only person annoyed by Sophie. I hate that the show creators try so hard to make us believe that she's the big character by applauding so hard every time she pops up!... she's not THAT funny.
ReplyDeleteMiranda Bailey is annoying? Wow, shocking to see how different people's perceptions can be.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Grey's anymore but I couldn't stand April Kepner back when I did.
This is a very interesting poll, BTW.
Um ... none of them? I kinda don't get this list. I mean, Mary Margaret from OUAT? Miranda from GA - I mean, really, Miranda? Out of all of them, I'd have to go with Elena Gilbert from the list, although even she is hardly the most annoying thing about her show these days, plus (SPOILER) she's not even technically on her show right now.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll go with "other," which for me represents Laurel from Arrow (give Katie Cassidy something to do, Arrow writers) and Pi from Castle (the only reason Alexis had any annoying moments in the first place). I'm actually pretty tolerant of most characters people find annoying, like Henry from OUAT who I even kind of like sometimes, but those two drive me crazy, especially because I'm enjoying both of their shows quite a lot this year.
Captain Hook - OUAT
ReplyDeleteI used to love Caroline on TVD, now, I can't stand her. She is far more annoying to me than Elena.
ReplyDeleteEvery week, I wish they would just kill her off. I've never liked Laurel.
ReplyDeleteDean Winchester? You gotta be kidding. He is the main reason more than half the Supernatural fans watch the show. Sam is the 'annoying' one...what with his "The world before my brother" & "depressing relationship" crap!
ReplyDeleteNone of these characters (At least that I know) are annoying! Hanna Marin really? If you want someone from a specific show at least pick one that is famous for or is meant to be annoying for example: Junior (Under the Dome) Shana (Pretty Little Liars) etc
ReplyDeleteExactly! The show would have been much better if they removed him (couldn't they send him to boarding school or something?) halfway through S2 (when he started to get really really annoying!). Still my fingers are crossed!
ReplyDeleteCaroline Forbes by an absolute mile.
ReplyDeleteElena isn't too far behind though..
Jared is a good actor, especially when he was Evil Pan. Problem is in writing for that character.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you on most points except for the one on Alexis Castle.
ReplyDeleteHenry-OUAT (this little kid might be little but he sure is annoying!)
ReplyDeleteAiden,Charlotte-Revenge (they both waste screen time)
Arizona-Greys Anatomy
Sophie-2 Broke Girls (every time shes on she wastes screen time)
Elena, Caroline, Bonnie-The Vampire Diaries (these three girls are the most annoying and whiny group I've ever seen)
Aria-PLL (she needs to get off the show ASAP)
Walt-Carrie Diaries
Laurel-Arrow (sooooooo whiny and boastful)
Stephen-Tomorrow People
Scarlett-Nashville (shes not that annoying but when she is...oh god)
That's fine. But to me, Dean has been ridiculously annoying for 5-6 years now. Its the same old stuff over and over again. And practically every season has a point where it turns into the Dean Show, with Sam as practically a guest star role. Dean gets all the major stories and then complains all the time. Although it may not just be the character and more the subpar seasons that the show has had post-Season 5.
ReplyDeleteHenry: OUaT followed by Elena Gilbert from Vampire Diaries
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you on every point! I even didn't want to comment on this poll but I have to let you know you aren't alone to think this way- especially about Laurel & Pi!
ReplyDeleteWhat's changed?
ReplyDeleteCaroline Forbes TVD (but i still live her).
ReplyDeleteLaurel Lance- Arrow.
Emma- The Following.
Tara- True Blood.
Sookie- True Blood.
Bill-True Blood.
Marcel- The Originals.
Celeste- The Originals.
Katherine- TVD.
Tyler- TVD
Katrina- Sleepy Hollow
Garth- SPN
Isabel- Arrow
The Founder- TTP
Hilary- TTP
Sebastian Blood-Arrow
I like Max in season 1of Dark Angel, but by season 2 all she ever did was whine and yell at people. Her self-pity became toxic very quickly for me. I have to say that when I watched an episode of Revolution from this season, I found Charlie much improved, actually the least annoying of the Mastersons. You may have something with the idea that killing off Rachel would dramatically improve the entire family.
ReplyDeleteMary Margaret for sure. Elena Gilbert. Other: Laurel Lance and Cara from TTP.
ReplyDeleteShe became unbearable with her stupid jokes, which got nothing to do with reality.
ReplyDeleteLinda - Under the Dome
ReplyDeleteThe whole show is not funny anymore.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we're talking about the characters, Nina is a very good actress.
ReplyDeleteElena is probably the most mature out of the three in TVD.
ReplyDeleteIf Caroline gets killed off, people who can't stand her anymore will feel relieved while shippers will harass the EPs more than ever. I don't know how much more can be done with Caroline's character. She seems to be defined by love interests.
ReplyDeleteNikki Reagan - Blue Bloods
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but I have to disagree.
ReplyDeleteOther: Aria PLL.
ReplyDeleteWith Caroline it sort of seems to matter who she's paired with. Some of the time she's fine and I like her but other times (like when she states how much she hates Damon in every episode even though that wasn't part of the conversation or when she's leaving Tyler 500 voice mails) she can be annoying.
ReplyDeleteBonnie it seems like lost her entire personality.
Conrad isn't anoying, he's cool
ReplyDeleteI agree that the love triangle is getting old with Elena in it.
ReplyDeleteMust be someone from 2 Broke Girls or 2.5 Men cause I watch the rest and no one is annoying on those shows!
ReplyDeleteBeyond a doubt, Elena Gilbert
ReplyDeleteYOu are so right. lol
ReplyDeleteIt would take a month to write all the reasons for Elena. She's a b**ch with a capital b
ReplyDeleteThey could give her actual story-lines (same with Bonnie) they just chose not to.
ReplyDeleteThis is a bad list
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Conrad Grayson is far less annoying than characters like Ashley Davenport, Lydia David and Daniel Grayson.
Arrow rn - Laurel Lance
Greys Anatomy - Shane Ross (Miranda doesnt even come close, the Nazi is the best)
2 Broke Girls - Sophie
Teen Wolf - Aiden
Pretty Little Liars - Alison D
Under the Dome - Junior
Voted for Alan for Two and a Half Men, but should have put Ted Mosby for other.
ReplyDeleteThey're trying to make us believe that Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs are the new Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I still love Kat, though. She's pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteMary Margaret is more annoying than Davivd?! Not in my opinion. I can't belive he wasn't even nominated.... That's why I voted Other.
ReplyDeleteWho in their right mind would find Conrad Grayson annoying? Despicable, sure, but annoying? Not a chance. His wit is one of the best parts of the show and he has a delightful sense of humor. They should have gone with someone else for Revenge...Ashley or Charlotte or Daniel maybe. Even Emily would have been a better option.
ReplyDeleteAngela, Bones " Bones"
ReplyDeleteBecket " Castle"
Once Upon a Time - Mary Margaret, Prince Charming and Henry
Arrow - Laurel Lance
Mischone Twd
Maggie Twd
Bonnie - TVD, Cammie - The Originals
ReplyDeleteLike the Medusa one. An absolute bore that just kept interrupting the good plot they had going on in the present time.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Worst forced canned laughter ever.
ReplyDeleteEasily top 5 worst characters this decade.
I like the additions they made this year with the gay guy at the diner, Deek & the pastry school guy Caroline has a thing for.
They can get rid of Sophie now & no one would ever even notice.
I found Sophie moderately bearable the 1st season she was there.
ReplyDeleteShes just a walking punchline now, and whats worse, its usually unfunny schticks.
ReplyDeleteAnd i dont find Caroline annoying personally, i like her a lot, shes grown heaps, and her friendship with Stefan is the best.
Im suprised Alexis is on 3th place lol just because she went rebel this season 1 year ago she wouldnt even be on the list lol O.o
ReplyDeletei would say the entire tvd characters lol
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I wonder how many votes for Alexis are really votes for Pi, and how annoying he made Alexis.
ReplyDeleteYou've never seen much dislike for Snow/MM? I see more dislike of her than pretty much any other character barring Henry. Almost every website has a lot of commenters that hate her and not just Regina fans either.
ReplyDeleteBailey??? really???
ReplyDeleteI don't recalls Max beeing so whiny in S2. Have to rewatch my DVDs. Mostly I still feel the shock of not having a solved endin.
ReplyDeleteFor me Rachel is an interesting character but does not fit in the Mastersons and Monroe storyline, it would have made more sense for me if she were part of Aarons story. Sometimes it feels as if they have two series sharing the same screentime and world.
hehe no way they are FAR, FAR AWAY from that!!, but yeah Kat is really good and without a doubt she has potential to become a great comedy actress, but not being in this show, but well that's just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteLeah Murphy, the intern on Grey's Anatomy. It was going to be April...
ReplyDeleteAND WHY IS MIRANDA BAILEY ON THIS LIST????
Carl from The Walking Dead. I've never really cared for him. My husband and I usually dislike the solo child/teenager characters of a show, for example Dawn on Buffy and Conner on Angel. I also disliked Charlotte during the first several episodes of Revenge this season. None of the actors are bad, they just play annoying characters.
ReplyDeleteI have no problems with Mary Margaret OUAT, Snow White, on the other hand, I can't stand her!!!!
ReplyDeleteCharming, Henry - OUAT
Alan Harper .- Two an ....
April Kepner and lately Meredith Grey - Grey's Anatomy
I find Cami annoying too.
ReplyDeleteThe only good thing about it was Regina's 10 second scene just laughing at Snow. I really didn't see the point in the flashback. And the CGI for Medusa... Don't get me started.
ReplyDeletePi from "Castle" is far more annoying than Alexis
ReplyDeletePi should have been the option from "Castle" instead of Alexis.
ReplyDeleteLaurel from Arrow
ReplyDeleteShe is a pretty disliked character after all.
ReplyDeleteReally? no Henry from OUAT?
ReplyDeleteElena. She is written so poorly. It's just so easy to hate her when she's so stupid.
ReplyDeletenone from this list, half of these are characters are okay the other half i don't watch.
ReplyDeleteWow, this thread is long. Too bad all of the good shows, IMO, are on hiatus due to the Olympics while shows I don't care about are still airing. Updates would be nice, but the CW is taking its time.
ReplyDeleteChang - Community
ReplyDeleteSookie Stackhouse (True Blood), Charlie (Revolution), Linda (Under the Dome), Juliette (Grimm)
ReplyDeleteI didn't think Aaron was annoying until this season, You're right his storyline is boring and we could totally go without it. I barely remember what happened because it's so dull right now. I read the synopsis for the next episode, and it seems to be improving, let's hope it turns out exciting after all.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling much better knowing i'm not the only one who dislikes the only kid in the show hahahahahahaha he's so annoying!
ReplyDeleteExactly, can't figure out why they put those there :/
ReplyDeleteCarl(TWD)
ReplyDeleteDean Winchester(SPN)
Sookie Stackhouse(TB)
Mary Margaret (Once)
David(Once)
Henry(Once)
Brittany S Pearce(Glee)
I actually like her. I know why people have their reasons why they hate her but to me she is strong and may be seen as a role model.
ReplyDeleteYou are responding to something that I never said.
ReplyDeleteArrow/Laurel
ReplyDeleteSansa Game of Thrones - never liked her in the books and not on Screen.
ReplyDeletekim fisher the mentalist for sure
ReplyDeleteI can think of many characters that I find annoying. Number one would have to be Jo and every single intern on Grey's Anatomy. I just couldn't stand them and their "only fit for the Disney channel" acting – they were the reasons I stopped watching the show.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Coach on New Girl.
ReplyDeleteI think the writers were trying to create an scene-stealing Urkel or Fonzie-type character. Unfortunately, when you do that *intentionally*, they're more likely to be annoying as hell. I think the worst part is that forced applause you hear every time she comes on. I feel like yelling "BOO!" to cancel it out.
Bones- Daisy
ReplyDeleteAdalind Schade from "Grimm." Just kill her already!
ReplyDeleteWhat about her is so annoying? Considering she's saved all of the cast one time or another...
ReplyDeleteShane Ross and Leah Murphy from Grey's Anatomy.
ReplyDeleteElena Moral Compass? She planned genocide for the sake of committing genocide for a selfish reason. She tried to kill rebekah many times and tell men to use rebekah to get information after hurting rebekah. Caroline is okay with betraying Tyler twice for her gange and she didn't care about chris because he wasn't part of the gang
ReplyDeleteRole Model? Yes, Elena, the person who is okay with killing a whole race of vampires is great to look up to and someone who breaks up two brothers. They were getting along until elena broke up with stefan for damon. She is the worst protagonist ever
ReplyDeleteElena gilbert is such a hypocrite. People have to forgive her for killing people they care about but she won't forgive people for doing small things to her.
ReplyDeleteStefan and Damon were enemies in the beginning. If she did anything its bring them closer. Yea killing a whole race of vampires it bad. Im not disagreeing on that. She is strong, after everything shes been through losing her parents and almost everyone she loves she still smiles and thats the thing I love about her
ReplyDeleteAs a role model of a strong main character, pick Veronica Mars. Elena is "Oh, I am so compassionate but let's kill a whole race of vampires just in case I can't bear being a vampire myself".
ReplyDeleteI am surprised, I thought Caroline was one of the most popular characters in TVD! She is actually written to be annoying but I care about her a lot more than about Elena, Bonnie and Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Sookie from True Blood? I find her annoying as hell. But, then, I haven't found yet any human female main character in a tv series/movie saga that isn't annoying. It seems like a prerequisite of the genre.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Pope - Scandal
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, the most annoying character for me would have to be Nikita (Maggie Q version) from the series of the same name. Why? She is:
ReplyDeleteSelf righteous
Thinks she can decide everything for everybody else
Is a MASSIVE hypocrite on just about very level - eg: its OK to kill when it suites her, but when others try to make their own decisions, she is always there to remind them that they are less self righteous than she is.
'Oh my bleeding heart' - need I say more about that one?
Arrogant to the extreme
Acts like she is always in charge of everything, as if everyone else is too stupid to decide things for themselves
This would all be OK if she actually stuck to her guns, but she keeps on crossing her own moral line, making the character seem weak, rather than driven.
Needs a few more brain cells - keeps on making stupid decisions based what she wants (not necessarily what is the 'right' thing to do)
And more...
