Hellcats star Heather Hemmens and Chris Brochu have both been cast in roles on The Vampire Diaries, E! News has exclusively learned, and fans of the CW hit series will definitely be intrigued by both of the new characters' connections to our favorite vampires.
Hemmens, who recently appeared on Grey's Anatomy, will take on the role of Maggie, Enzo's (Michael Malarkey) love interest, while Brochu will play the fun and charming Luke, a student at Whitmore college who bonds with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola). But relax, Delena, Stelena, Klaroline and Forwood fans because there's no chance for romance between Luke and one of the ladies as he's gay. Also, he has a secret agenda.

Well, Enzo getting a love interest certainly doesn't bode well for him leaving the show.
ReplyDeleteWell, her appearance makes sense given the fact that she was mentionned in The Cell. She had a history with Enzo back when he was a prisonner. She worked for Dr Whitmore but supposedly didn't know what he was truly doing. When she learned the truth, she left... My guess is that she'll appear in a flashback episode (she's supposed to appear in the 19th épisode.)

ReplyDeleteHa! the one thing that made me laugh out of this WHOLE article is when they said "Forwood fans"!! That is funny, I wasn't aware that there was any left. On another note, can't wait to see what Heather brings to the table. (I was a fan of Hellcats) and this Luke fellow, could be interesting. I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI've seen pictures on Twitter of Michael Malarkey (Enzo), Rick Cosnett (Wes), and Caitlin McHugh (Sloan) working closely together. It looks like the presence of travelers will somehow bring about changes in how Augustine operates. Maggie wouldn't be considered a love interest if she was only going to show up in one episode. Since she was last seen in the 1950s, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that she's a vampire now. She might hear about Wes' more humane methods (the fact that he uses anesthesia and doesn't torture) and his willingness to work with supernaturals, and she'll be drawn back to Augustine. Her presence might bring Enzo to come to an understanding with Wes. Sloan's revenge on Damon could have been her way in. She'll probably be the catalyst for whatever happens next.
ReplyDeleteAs for Luke, I don't know what to think. I read that he might be a witch looking to use doppelgangers to his own advantage, but if he's getting close to both Caroline and "Elena," there might be more to the story. I'm still not sure if Katherine will stay in Elena's body. Elena never wanted to be a vampire and Katherine did, so making Elena a traveler at some point in the arc seems like a solution to everyone's problems, especially since most of the characters blame Klaus for Katherine's behavior, and Elena acted like she might want to work with Augustine. What happens might depend on whether Elena is still in that corpse, or if she ever was at all. It's hard to believe that the writers would go so far in the destruction of any character, even Katherine. I've never known TVD to be the type of show to go to such a dark place. Things like that usually only happen on TO.

ReplyDeleteeven if they didn't,it was pretty much given as elena cannot be gone forever and katherine's corpse was burned,her character will come to a logical end.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about that, Kathrine is an important character in the story and i think that they might find a loophole that will bring her back in the story.
ReplyDeletenot so fast!! enzo's love interest casting details said that her love for enzo will be tested under difficult circumstances.that definitely cannot be done in flashback now,can it? candice posted a pic of enzo and her for episode 16,which confirms allover that he will be at least present up until episode 19.since we all know,wes will surely bite the dust by the end of the season,that leaves only nadia aand enzo.since katherine also dies most certainly by episode 16,that leaves nadia out of the equation coz she will have no reason to stick around mystic falls.with the originals gone in thier own show,they will atleast want to keep one evil,sinister yet sexy male villain.enzo fits that bill perfectly!! i even heard rumors that he might turn out to be stefan and damon's half brother who was mentioned by damon to rebeckah in episode 3.16-1916.So,unless they pull something really unexpected.enzo is not gong anywhere i think.it's my opinion though,you can fully disagree- i can respect that.
ReplyDeleteIt's both hilarious and pathetic that they apologize and soothe fans in advance telling them that there is no reason to hate on Luke. Shipping wars have gone so out of hand they even started prepping people in advance to keep an open mind.

We know that now, the body of Elena is not hers and it is Katherine in it and since this is the case how can Brochu's character play love interest for character that is no longer in the series if they will not bring him back. And also let's just remind you that Elena and Katherine are completely different persons and have completely different interest in everything. So to me that reveals the fate of Katherine.
they didn't write about the shippers in their official description,the statement is modified here,though not wrong.as far as markos casting is concerned,there is nothing wrong with stereotypical casting sometimes,maybe they didn't want to take too much risk i think.when joesph was cast,i remember so many negative comments.look where he is now,in his own show!! let's give this guy a chance before jumping into any conclusions.

ReplyDeleteI agree however it's unlikely that Kat will bond with a gay Luke. For one she can't seduce him. But we still don't know if they just kill her off completely or stuff into another body.
Yes that is true, but still i think that they might just move her to another body. As i previously said i think that she is a major character and a big part of the story and to me it's unlikely that they will kill her and permanently remove her from the story.

ReplyDeletei found funny that they are introducing a Gay character and i think is because in TO Joshua worked so well tho he hasnt been around this last epiosdes i hope there is a good storyline with him there....
ReplyDeleteOh i will give a guy a chance but i don't think he will be sticking around for long looking the way he does. i am giving him like 5-6 episodes before he gets killed off. So far Julie and her team didn't give much of screen time to POC characters.

ReplyDeleteFirst there was Jesse, people liked him but he got killed off, then Aaron also got accepted by audiences nicely, and the actor had a fanbase of his own. But they killed off both of them and now will try to recreate likable character. You know... it's not like there is anything better to do with screen time...
