So Genevieve is going to make Rebekah confess. I think some people expected that already. Marcel looks like a major jerk as usual, using affection to con Rebekah into betraying a friend. It definitely looks like Elijah won't get to them in time. He might show up while they're fighting, but he won't be able to save them from Genevieve. She'll do what she intends to do, and then she'll leave them alone together.
True. I like it for the fact that it gives him the opportunity to show some flair and a sense of humor. It's a nice break from the upstanding earnest version of Elijah.
Rebekah is always choosing her love interest over her brothers (so when she expected Klaus to grab her and not Caroline (who could be killed by the Founder's Council ) I found that to be hypercritical in hindsight). Why should Klaus leave Caroline to die and grab Rebekah when she's consistently chosen every man who's shown her the tiniest bit of interest over Klaus?
Marcel earlier in the season showed Rebekah a picture of a house and that convinced her to turn against Klaus immediately. He obviously knows she always falls for it so it makes sense to me that he'd continue to use her. I don't think Marcel actually cares about Rebekah as he pretends to - I think Rebekah needs to realize that if someone is trying to kill your family or harm them than they don't really love you but that concept just seems lost on her.
I'm starting to wonder if shippers or haters could be the source of problems with these two characters. Julie Plec will say one thing, and then we'll see something else on-screen. I noticed that some "Mebekah" shippers are starting to tweet at Julie Plec now, in addition to the Klaroline shippers who still won't leave her alone. Someone said in here that bugging the EPs incessantly about on-screen relationships or killed-off characters is how to ensure that the EPs give those particular fans the opposite of what they want. I'm inclined to agree. People who confuse actors with their characters are still tweeting at Nina Dobrev to forget about Ian, and that she and Damon belong together. I feel bad for everyone working on TVD and TO. EPs and actors have already had to call out a few people for being too aggressive. I can't believe that someone created a thread a few days ago claiming that ships and shipping make shows successful. Even saying that probably made the problem worse. I try not to bug the cast and crew of either show because I prefer to be PLEASANTLY surprised. I have mentioned briefly and rarely characters that I like, but as much as I dislike some of the characters on TO, I refuse to be a hater who sends angry tweets to actors. I'm not that obsessed. I also don't want to see any disturbing plot twists due to fans who can't let things go.
Wow. Watching Elijah do that elbow move just turned me on, for the whole night. Lol. Genevieve it seems, she is not a force to be reckoned with. I wonder though, if she's taking her revenge out on Rebekah, wouldn't she also take the revenge out on Marcel? I mean from the flashback, it seems w/e Rebekah did, obviously she had an accompline, hence Marcel.
That doesn't make sense to me either. It seems like all the resurrected witches have a reason to want revenge on him. He brought Papa Tundre to town in the first place - so it made total sense that he'd go after him. It seems like Bastiana should have a bone to pick with Marcel for interfering with the Harvest (The Originals weren't there at the time - Klaus & Rebekah were living in Mystic Falls so they had nothing to do with her death). Then obviously he and Rebekah were responsible for whatever happened to Genevieve.
I can understand taking out frustrations with the show on Julie Plec but not so much with the actors. There are just so many plot-holes and problems with the show and those all fall on her. She should know the mythology of her own universe and not randomly change it half-way through the show. It really feels like she didn't plan anything out and a lot of the time just makes things up as she goes along.
I think some fans have a hard time with the line between fiction and reality though. The characters the actors play are not who they are in real life and the actors don't get a whole lot of say with the plot or romances (Daniel Gilles hates Haylijah and finds it gross, Paul has stated he thinks Stefan should have moved on from Elena back in Season 2 or 3 (all three mains are so over the entire love triangle and want their characters to move on), etc..). I understand people shipping two characters but I don't understand it when they start shipping the actors who play them as well. Joseph Morgan had to block a bunch of people on twitter who kept trying to tell him that he needed to be with Candice.
EXACTLY!!!! Like wtf?? So Marcel just gets away with all of this?? I was glad Papa Tunda went after Marcel, i don't see why Bastiana and Genevieve can't do the same. I'm hoping he'll get his too. He just as responsible as the rest of them.
That's what the blocking was about? Joseph Morgan has stated on more than one occasion how much he cares for his girlfriend. He's even foregoing filming any movies during the break to spend time with her. I remember he mentioned that he would block people who attacked him or anyone he cares about. It's crazy that fans are hateful toward people they don't even know. I don't particularly like the character Hayley, but you don't see me going after Phoebe Tonkin on Twitter.
I think the revenge would have been taken out on Marcel if he had stayed in power. Since Klaus overthrew him, the Originals are now taking all of the heat for something they weren't even there for. Katherine helped lure Klaus to New Orleans because of the baby, and the witches already knew about the baby. My personal theory is that Celeste involved Katherine in bringing the Originals back so that Celeste could eventually take her revenge on them.
As for Genevieve knowing about Marcel's involvement, she might have thought that Rebekah and Marcel were just lovers. Previews and sneak peeks can be tricky because of the editing. Marcel is very sneaky. He probably found a way to avoid being directly involved. Rebekah was the one who befriended Genevieve to get close to her, and Marcel seemed to only encourage and slightly coerce her. Genevieve might not have noticed Marcel's role in the whole thing, and it was Rebekah's idea.
It just occurred to me that the witches might be trying to tear the Originals apart to distract them, or to make them all want to separate or leave New Orleans. The real aim could actually be Marcel and his followers, but if the Originals aren't kept busy elsewhere, they might get in the way because they'd end up losing a lot of soldiers. I think the purpose of attacking the Original family first is to divide and conquer. With the Originals, who can't be killed, out of the way because they can't stop fighting, the witches would have an opening to eliminate the vampires who can be killed. The Originals might be more of an obstacle for the witches than the actual target. If Celeste is forced to leave Sabine's body like the synopsis two episodes from now sort of indicates, it'll probably be because her need for revenge on Klaus has caused her to engage in behavior that violated some of the coven's beliefs. I saw Bastiana get nervous when she realized that Celeste was possessing Sabine. I think Celeste might make some of the witches uncomfortable.
I don't read the synopsis' for this show. But i do like your first theory about the witches getting rid of the Originals just tot take everyone else out. That i could see. I mean it won't be much of a home for Klaus, if they're no townsfolk. LMAO (yes i'm mimicked that southern accent when i said that. I crack myself up sometimes).
About Celeste, I think you're right about her making the others uncomfortable. I mean she is the strongest out of all of them. She has spent time with the Originals, (well mostly Elijah, that we know of) so she knows them, more than the others, AND she seems to be unpredictable. She could just be using the witches and then get rid of them if she wanted, i wouldn't put it past her.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Elijah and his slapstick violence gets me every time. It never stops being funny.

ReplyDeleteThat did look like a move you'd see in the "Three Stoggies" though! 4 THE ORIGINALS, THE COPIES, AND ALL THE REPEATS, I am Nobody!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's just proof that he doesn't have to try very hard, which I kinda like...
ReplyDeleteTrue. I like it for the fact that it gives him the opportunity to show some flair and a sense of humor. It's a nice break from the upstanding earnest version of Elijah.
ReplyDeleteAt least Marcel & Rebekah are consistent with it.
