The CW is staying in the genre/fantasy space with another drama pilot order, to The Messengers, from feature producer Basil Iwanyk (The Clash Of The Titans franchise). Written by Eoghan O’Donnell (Teen Wolf) with The Good Wife exec producer Ted Humphrey supervising, The Messengers starts with a mysterious object crashing down to earth. A group of seemingly unconnected strangers die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse. (A previous description identified the awoken strangers as angels of the coming Apocalypse). Iwanyk executive produces through his Thunder Road Television. Thunder Road’s SVP Film & TV Kent Kubena and Industry Entertainment’s Ava Jamshidi also executive produce, with O’Donnell co-exec producing.

Yay! This was one of the pilots I was hoping that the CW would pick up! Hopefully this will be ordered to series. It sounds really interesting.

ReplyDeleteNot one of the pilots I wanted because I don't like angels (I got really bored when Supernatural introduced them...) but I think it could be kinda cool if they do it right. Now I'm hoping they'll pick one of the ones I chose in the poll, lol.

ReplyDeleteSounds good. Most CW shows have stories, which is what I like so I don't new shows. just not of that bs Carrie Diaries and Reign(tho I don't got nothing against this show, just I am not in to period drama shows).
ReplyDeleteTry reign, its really good, its not just your average period drama, it has supernatural elements interwoven with pagans and sacrifices :)
ReplyDeleteReign isnt just Drama. It is dark and mysterious and has that supernatural thing to it. Carrie Diaries well is Drama and its a fun watch

ReplyDeleteMore reason I don't watch reign is because as a history major I've read a lot about world history and knows what happens to said characters in reign. And a reason why I don't watch many period drama that come out of the UK. And you can say it doesn't happen like that in reign its different with the supernatural element but with that it just because alternate history which I sometimes like however just not for that area of time.

Watching 90% of the cw shows is good enough
Need more information about the characters. If the group is solely made up of teenagers, I'll most likely pass.
