This was tough for me. In the end I went with the great action scene with Scott adn Kira fighting the Oni. I really enjoyed Derek and Argent's scenes and both Coach scenes as well. Stiles was of course brilliant as well.
ReplyDeleteHands down, Dark Stiles reveal that he had set everything up for Scott to take everyone's pain and then feed off of Scott. To me, this shows that they aren't just dealing with someone dangerous who loves chaos, but with someone who is just as brilliant as good Stiles.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with the last one, Dark Stiles vs Scott, but I also really loved all the Derek and Chris moments.
ReplyDeleteI adore a brilliant criminal so I am looking forward to seeing the continued fight between them. Even more so, I love a great writers' room that proves to me through canon and continuity that they have an overall plan. Teen Wolf writers rarely ever let me down. I can't wait to see where this ride takes us.
ReplyDeleteThere were so many great scenes in this episode that it was really hard to choose. Normally there is one scene that sticks out for me (usually a bromance moment between Scott and Stiles lately) but this time so many were on par with each other.
ReplyDeleteI picked the Coach Inspirational speech because A) We rarely see him anymore B) Those 'inspirational' speeches are few and far between.
ReplyDeleteI did however really enjoy Smirk stiles twisting the Katana around in regards to Scott. Great scene and I fully believe he would of kept going if Deaton had not of been there.
Deaton injects DarkStiles with letharia vulpina, but Coach screaming in pain is a close second
ReplyDeleteCoach made me laugh and then fell bad because i was laughing.
ReplyDeleteI miss Coach when he is not around. He brings the comedy right when we need it. I will never forget Coach on the bus blowing his whistle every time Stiles spoke. I'm not sure I laughed harder in my life than the first time I saw that scene.
ReplyDeleteFredas comment makes me wonder that even IF they get the Nogitsune outta Stiles what effect it might have on his jokester personality. A Reason most watchers like his character the most is that angle, so if he loses it...
ReplyDeleteIm also wondering if the Nogitsune isnt actualy influenced by the host its in itself. Its probably not a one way street.
I honestly cannot pick one. Though I am a little surprised that Coach's reaction to being stabbed isn't on the list. But for the first time that I can remember, I cannot say one scene floats above any other scene in the ep for me. huh.
ReplyDelete"Im also wondering if the Nogitsune isnt actualy influenced by the host its in itself. Its probably not a one way street."
ReplyDeleteI like that idea - especially if the nogitsune resides in Stiles mind and I completely see this as a possibility. When Stiles has the nogitsune removed (come-on they're not going to kill Stiles and they can't leave it in there :P), it should have some effect on Stiles. Something took over his body and is using him as tool to murder people. There needs to be some reaction - whether its a defensive, angry humor or a complete shell-shocked, scared Stiles or something else - he needs to have some acknowledgement that this happened. As Dahne pointed out below, Teen Wolf writers are good with canon and continuity as seen through this episode, Lydia's powers (hearing things in season 2) and season 3a. So I would be really disappointed if everything is OK after 5 minutes, but I honestly don't see this happening.
I don't think that if they take Stiles' humor away from him for a bit it would hurt his popularity -- especially if it is because he is dealing with this reaction. There are fans who love a WHUMP!Character. That being said - it can be down poorly, overdone or repeated constantly (see: Sam Winchester) and it loses its affect, becomes a plot device and just becomes sloppy, annoying writing. (All things I wouldn't use to describe Teen Wolf writers).
Plus you have the law enforcement issues.
ReplyDelete'Sorry sir, it wasnt me, a crazy Japanese Fox Spirit was inhabiting my body and caused me to build a bomb to blow up the police station. What.. thats fulls under the domestic terrorism act? ooops
I am sure that there will be some kind of emotional fallout for Stiles after this, but it's Teen Wolf. Those consequences won't last for very long.
ReplyDeleteThat would require the people of Beacon Hills to be competent at their job and actually figure out that Stiles is the one who did it. Very few are so I doubt this becomes an issue.
ReplyDeleteThe Teen Wolf writers seem to choose a different character to whump on each season so at least its rotated. Jackson in season 2, Derek in 3A, and now Stiles in 3B. The closest we get to a character that routinely gets whumped is Isaac.
ReplyDeleteI had to cut it because I was stuck at 16 choices and had to whittle it down to 11. In my mind I lumped it in with "poor Coach gets shot with an arrow." I also had more trouble this time choosing a scene. I guess because the last two weeks had that strong emotional bond between Scott and Stiles that stuck out for me above all others. In this one many scenes were great but nothing that really distanced itself from the others.
ReplyDeleteNah I was totally fine laughing at the coach lol
