Not enough pics of Sam and Dean but Sam is looking especially hot in his outfit. I wonder if Sam is coming to Dean's rescue again? The look Sam has in his eyes in the pic where he is holding what looks like a knife is worrying to me. I am curious if Sam is going to develop that anger/driven behavior he has had in the past.
The guys look so good dressed up! And this time the suits are expensive. Urgh more angel crap! Please stop. The only angels fans ever liked are Cas and Balthazar. Why don't they get the hint the storylines with angels don't work?
We need more Sam and Dean, and not just as co-workers, but as the 'I'd die for you in a minute' caring, loving, co-dependent brothers that they truly are; despite Carver!
I think there were a few other angels who had solid fanbases (Anna, Samandriel, Naomi), and Gabriel was very popular, although I don't think most of these characters were ever treated well in the writing (Gabriel excluded). The show has never known what to do with angels - flesh them out, or damn them because they aren't human. Generally it's the latter.
I feel like this story is leading up to the end of most of the angels on the canvas. I have a feeling Cas is going to be killing Bartholomew pretty soon. (just speculation)
Well in the promo it looked like he'd captured Cas, although Cas might have been going to see him, I don't know. I think Cas may use him to take out the other bad angel faction, Malachi or whoever they were.
His name is Adam Harrington. Looks like his biggest roles were on Secret Circle, Dexter, and Mob Doctor in the last few years, some other stuff like QAF in earlier years.
As i remember Anna lost most of her fanbase when they had her go bad and try to kill Dean and Sam's grandfather. I know i hated her)) Everybody liked her because she started off as innocent halfhuman, helpless and harmful. But being an angel turned her into a baddie. Gabriel - i loved and am still sad he got killed off, but i never really considered him an angel, he was introduced as Loki and had a long run causing mischief so even when we found out the truth i still considered him not an angel. I don't remember who Samandriel was, and Naomi is just meh, waste of screen time. What i am trying to say is that the way they portray angels on this show is disappointing. Uptight, boring, unforgiving, they rarely show off wings, and most of them have proved to be weakling who are easily killed off. Every angel that was ever liked by the audience had either started as something else or Cas.
Dean looks older than he used to be. Still sexy and handsome but older. I was rewatching season 1, my favorite, and loled how even their voices used to be squeaky. Sam looks older too, but not so much, mostly he just needs to lay off tanning bed.
Considering Season 4 & 5 had better ratings than season 3, 6, 7, & 8, I think stories with angels do work if they're done correctly. And the idea that Cas and Balthazar were the only fan favorites is very misguided. Fans reacted well to Zachariah, Anna, Michael, Naomi, Samandriel, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, and Metatron. Kripke built the first 3 seasons to lead up to angels vs. demons and since the show wanted to continue, it doesn't make sense to try and go back to lesser beings. They tried that in season 6 & 7 and it didn't work
Looks like a lot of angel crap. I still don't know who is against who or what is what with any of the angels, so I find all of it boring. I just want to see Sam and Dean doing what they did when this show first started and that was hunting things and saving people. Now it seems like all they do is either fight angels or demons. And it seems like now, the angels are more evil than the demons could ever be.
With the shortened S3 Kripke didn't have the 'time' to build up "Sam's Powers" believably to have Sam save Dean from going to Hell. Kripke said he'd always planned to have Sam possessed by the 'Demon god', Lucifer, and Dean would have to again decide whether to 'kill Sam' if he couldn't 'save him.' But the Writer's Strike interfered with that whole 'storyline' so EK did send Dean to Hell.
I think some of those characters were popular, and others were love to hate types (although Anna, sadly, seemed unpopular with the fans who often have influence over the show's decisions), but none of them ever seemed to stay around long.
Anna went after John and Mary - their parents - not grandparents. Also, she only went "bad" after she was tortured. You may not like angels but a lot of fans do. Why else have the ratings gone up?
Have you watched the show this season? Sam was being possessed by Gadreel (an angel) for ten episodes. How is that not interacting with angels? As for demons. Need I say more than Crowley and Abaddon.
So .. demons, yes - angels, no. Did you ever see the outline he had for season three? He put it out to show people where he would've gone with it. Some of the stuff you mentioned was in it.
I'll never consider Loki an angel. He was Loki. It was stupid to try to dress him up as Gabriel. Then again, I was really hoping they'd have cast a woman to play Gabriel.
I don't know if angels really had anything to do with it. I know a lot of the old guard dropped the show after angels became such a central point. All three people who convinced me to give this show a chance in season one don't watch anymore, haven't since either season five or six because of it.
I'm not sure what your point is - people who don't watch because of the angels don't affect the ratings anymore. I've been watching since the beginning and a lot of my friends have been as well. On the other hand, I know a lot of people who have started watching all during the run. There are a _lot_ of Castiel fans. An angel is one of the regulars after all. Personally, while I can't say that the show has maintained a consistent level of quality over the 9 seasons, I completely don't understand people who simply want season one over and over and over again. A story needs to evolve and develop - it's natural that not everyone will like every development and people will come and go with the story. I started watching Grey's Anatomy about the same time as SPN and stopped after the 3rd season because every single season it was the same thing - will Derek and Meredith get together blah blah blah - boring.
No, I never read an specific outline but I did read what Kripke said in the Official Supernatural magazine - I think in June/July issue between S3 and S4. In a separate Jared and Jensen interview in the same or previous issue, Jared said Sam might have to advance his powers to rescue Dean from Hell. I got the impression neither Jared nor Jensen had any idea at the time of the magazine interview that Kripke would reverse his "no angels on the show/no direct confirmation that 'God' even existed".
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
LOL, what is even happening here?
ReplyDeleteWOW! Their costume disguise is incredibly hot this time, specially Dean's, they could easily use these photos in men fashion magazines! lol
ReplyDeleteWe could see what we are seeing w/ Cas and Bartholomew in just 2 photos, no need to use 7 shots, what a waste! At least show some other scenery.
He kind of reminds me about Brady from season 5 :P
ReplyDeletehe looks a bit like a older Eric Johnson, but not it's not him
ReplyDeleteis Cas working with Bart now ? Dude...and I thought he stopped making bad pertnering choices

ReplyDeleteHe reminds me of an older Adam (Milligan).

Dean is wearing the overcoat of sorrow.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there are some things they want to surprise us about (not counting Snooki since that isn't a surprise).

Yeah, the angel storyline has pretty much been Castiel's.
