-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped this final February Tuesday in the household overnights, beating No. 2 NBC by 59 percent with its line-up of “NCIS” (11.1 rating/17 share – #1 for the evening), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (8.5/13) and “Person of Interest” (7.1/12). The trio of scripted dramas finished first each of the six half-hours, but NBC had some crowing rights of its own.

“The Voice,” which will win the 8 p.m. hour with ease in the key young adult demos, scored a solid second-place 7.9/12 in the overnights. Excluding the Dec. 17 fall finale, this was the highest rated Tuesday installment of the singing competition since Oct. 22, 2013. The year-ago “Voice” Tuesday night return (minus facing “The Bachelor on ABC) was an 8.4/13 in the overnights on March 26, 2013,

Encores of the pilot episodes of new NBC comedies “About a Boy” (5.0/ 8) and “Growing Up Fisher” (4.2/ 6) finished third from 9-10 p.m., with “About a Boy” scoring NBC’s best household overnights in the Tuesday 9 p.m. half-hour (excluding The Olympics) since “The Voice” fall season-ender on Dec. 17. Sophomore “Chicago Fire” followed with a second-place 4.4/ 7 at 10 p.m., which was 63 percent above the series-premiere of competing ABC drama “Mind Games” (2.7/ 5).

Comparably, “Mind Games” held only 44 percent of the 9:30 p.m. portion of lead-in “The Bachelor” (6.2/ 9). And it dipped by 23 percent in the second-half hour (3.1/ 5 to 2.4/ 4), which points to considerable expected erosion next week from this already anemic debut. Last fall, failed ABC drama “Lottery,” the first new series cancellation of the current season, opened with a 3.1/ 5 on 9/24/13. It looks like “Mind Games” star Christian Slater (“Breaking In,” “My Own Worst Enemy” and “The Forgotten”) has another flop on his hands.

Earlier in the evening on ABC was the aforementioned Tuesday edition of “The Bachelor” at a very respectable 6.0/ 9 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m. The moral of that story: Three very different series can successfully co-exist in a time period.

Over at Fox, tired “Glee” was DOA in its return to the Tuesday 8 p.m. hour with a series-low 2.2/ 3. Minus any lead-in support, “New Girl” (#4: 2.2/ 3) and recently relocated “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 2.0/ 3) could not complete from 9-10 p.m. Note to Fox: Maybe you should move up the graduation of “Glee” to this spring (instead of next season).

The CW capped off the evening with its already renewed combination of dramas “The Originals” (#5: 1.4/ 2) and veteran “Supernatural” (#5: 1.5/ 2). The two, on average, outdelivered year-ago occupants “Hart of Dixie” (1.2/ 2 on 2/26/13) and “Cult” (0.7/ 1) by 53 percent.

In late night, the momentum for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” continued, with a 4.0/10 in the overnights from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. equal to “The Late Show With David Letterman” on CBS (2.3/ 6) and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC (1.7/ 4) combined. Night two of “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on NBC beat the competition combined with a 2.2/ 8 from 12:30-1:30 a.m., which was just 15 percent below its debut 2.6/ 9 on Monday. “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” on CBS scored a distant 1.1/ 4, followed by “Nightline” on ABC with a 1.0/ 3.
