-Ratings Breakdown:
It was all about The Winter Olympics on NBC last night, which averaged a 14.5 rating/22 share in the household overnights from 8-11 p.m. (peaking in the 9 p.m. half-hour with a 15.6/23). Comparably, NBC bested the No. 2 network, CBS, by a whopping 184 percent. CBS’ line-up consisted of encore telecasts of “NCIS” (6.1/ 9), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (5.1/ 8) and “Person of Interest” (4.1/ 7), which finished a distant second in each of the six half-hours.

If the Eye net does decide to pick-up the proposed new spin-off of “NCIS” for next season, airing out of the parent series on Tuesday could be an option (with “Los Angeles” ready to stand on its own).

In season (or series) finale news, a one-hour installment of Fox sitcom “Dads” finished fourth with a 2.3/ 4 in the overnights from 8-9 p.m. All things considered, “Dads” could have actually done worse leading off Tuesday this season. And it led into repeats of “New Girl” (#3: 2.3/ 3 at 9 p.m.) and relocated “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#3: 2.1/ 3 at 9:30 p.m.), which is unlikely to be much of an improvement over recent time period occupant “The Mindy Project” once The Winter Olympics are over.

Elsewhere, a three-episode marathon of sitcom “The Goldbergs” on ABC (avg. 2.4/ 4 from 8-9:30 p.m.) led into a repeat of “Trophy Wife” at a fourth-place 1.7/ 3 at 9:30 p.m. Recently introduced drama “Killer Women,” which is waiting for the axe to swing, closed the night for the alphabet net with a distant third-place 2.3/ 4 at 10 p.m.

The CW, meanwhile, could not compete with a repeat of 2011 movie “Attack the Block,” which scored a 0.6/ 1 from 8-10 p.m.

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database.
