I don't even know what to say, this episode was just freakin' amazing. This show is amazing.
I knew that Maggie was going to find out about Marty cheating on her sooner than later. Good on her for leaving him. He deserves it.
And that gun fight was intense as hell. I was on the edge of my seat from the moment they walked into the house and the moment Rust and Ginger escaped the neighborhood. Fantastic.
Like the final 6 mins or so or however long it took for the robbery to go down and Rust trying to get out with Ginger was amazing. Apparently it was one long tracking shot which is incredible.
I mean I was already obsessed with this show and with McConaughey's performance as Rust but now I am truly and utterly consumed by it. That is some seriously good acting, some beautifully filmed piece of art and the tension was getting unbearable despite knowing Rust clearly lives.
Side note, I would pay to see a Rust/Marty sitcom spin-off.
this show really gets better and better each week and who knew how the episode was going to end after the way it started. Its crazy how much goes down in an episode
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Incredible episode. Now the doubters can't say this show is "too slow". This episode built in intensity until the very end.

It just keeps getting better. McConaughey is outstanding as Rust.

ReplyDeleteThat long final shot is one of the best cinematography and camera work I've ever seen. Amazing episode with fantastic performances.
