  1. Wow, Ted reached a new low tonight but I'm so glad he finally let go of Robin. And excuse me, but don't use the awesome "Eternal Flame" during that scene. No thank you.

So glad Stella, Victoria, and even Jennette (was that a new actress?) called him out on his shit. He needed to hear that.

And yay for Marshall and Lily making up! I'm so glad they did.

    Somewhat good episode.

  2. God, I love the Mother to pieces, but the Ted/Robin shipper that has resided in me since season 1 just had her heart break a little. Sorry, just cannot help the feels!!! :,(

  3. I know a lot of people are sick of Ted/Robin, but this episode was needed. She needed the truth from him about why he left Victoria. He had to let go for their to be closure. Overall another very good episode. I loved 2006 Lilly and Marshall's dad.

  4. I'm very happy that this is over the only good thing about this episode was Barney passing the torch and ML working things out.

  5. I was really in the moment with Ted FINALLY letting Robin go, and then she literally flew away. Thanks for the laugh HIMYM!

  6. Another just alright episode, although in this season that is essentially a great episode since alright (aside from the Mother's episode) is the best it can manage.

I'm hoping this means that Ted will actually finally have let Robin go and there won't be anymore thoughts or talks about it. Just let it die like it should have 5 years ago. The Barney stuff was pretty unfunny and boring. The Marshall/Dream Lily part was the best part with Marshall realizing that while he may be right, he is also being wrong.

  7. Great episode, and obviously a step down from last week's greatness.
The Barney bits were they ones I liked the least, but they were ok. The whole Robin/Ted and Marshall/Lily thing was pretty awesome

  8. I agree completely; actually, I'm never been actually sick of the Ted/Robin thing, I think the show has handled it pretty good. It was about time for Ted to let her go and the only way he would have been able to was if he was honest about what he felt

  9. Can't help but think that in the end, Ted still dove into the river and got the locket.

  10. I thought the same thing.

  11. Glad that there was finally some closure to Ted/Robin. It might have been a liiiitle drawn out, but it was well done.

I really enjoyed Lily/Marshall. I enjoyed his argument with the different versions of Lily, Robin, and his dad. Oh, I'm so glad his dad came back for one last episode! Glad that they resolved their fight.

I really enjoyed Barney's storyline. He's passing the torch on to the next generation.

  13. I loved Barney 's story

especially when he told about not needing to go to a strip club all the time :)

    Tim Gunn is charming

Marshall and Lily made up!!!!! :)

But I did not like the part with Ted and Robin

I got the impression that Cobie Smulders had forgotten how to act!!

(sorry for the mistakes, I'm not American)

  15. Excellent episode. Been waiting for the Ted/Robin conversation about Victoria, and it didn't disappoint. Also loved Ted's plea to Jeanette on the bridge, giving a little glimpse that despite all the trials Ted is still the hopeless romantic that makes the final destination of meeting the mother what it should be. The wrap-up of Lily and Marshall's fight was also perfectly done. Ted letting go of Robin, Marshall and Lily making up, and Barney passing on his legacy very much gave this the feel of turning the corner into the home stretch; a lot of resolution, and now we're really in the endgame.

  16. I loved the Ted/Robin part because till season 8, I shipped them. Of course I love Cristin Milioti as The Mother now and Barney/Robin are endgame. But this episode was sweet, especially Ted's speech to Jeanette about love.

  17. Barney/Robin shipper must be really mad right now.

I think this episode was about letting go, Ted let Robin go, Barney let his past life go and Marshall let his "ego?" go. I didn't like the Barney part at first, but it made sense in the end.

  18. I love that both Ted and the Mother first had to let go of past relationships that were weighing them down and making them miserable and move on in order to be ready to meet and fall in love. It makes so much sense, because they had to make room in the heart for their soulmate and as soon as they do that, the next day they are going to find what they're been waiting for all these years and oh my shipper heart

  19. After I watched this episode, so I think it might be a good finale for How I met your mother. The last part of Season 9 so far has been good! (Okay, not the Slapsgiving episode, but it is allowed to make mistakes.) :)

  20. Another perfect episode. These last 3 have been on a roll, I am totally crazy about the show again. I've always been very very partial to Ted and Robin even though I've grown to accept Robin and Barney for what it is, but damn, I thought it was very touching that Ted cared for Robin so much up to the point of doing the impossibles to make her be happy.. with his best friend. I loved it.

  21. Ted let Robin go, the episode before that, the mother let her deceased boyfriend go. I wouldn't be surprised if the next episode is the first time they actually see each other.
