I definitely had way too high expectations coming into this. The ending was way too rushed, I felt like they should never have released those promo pics as I was like where was the bit with JJ, Henry and Will at the end!? Was that the only Emily-Blake interaction?? Also aside from Garcia, i felt no panic or worry from the rest of the team, no one was flipping out or anything, it felt like they were dealing with any old unsub from any other episode.
On the positive side, all the awards to AJ Cook!!!!
I did like the episode a lot. But I too felt that it was a bit rushed at the end, it reminded me a bit of Shaun of the dead. Where, Shaun is describing his plan to his girlfriend. Go rescue his parents... then the end was the pub. Other than that though the build up was awesome. I was glad to see some of what happened to JJ. I'm wondering when this season is released to dvd if this episode will have deleted scenes. Maybe an extended ending?
Great episode!!! Prentiss' return, J.J. kicking ass, and the brief interaction between Prentiss and Blake at the end were the highlights for me. The only downside was the State Department hindering the team's efforts to find J.J. and Cruz! 2 Federal officers get kidnapped, the BAU goes above and beyond to save them and yet the State Department has the stones to phase them out and hide behind red tape!!! SCREW THEM ALL!!!
Iv definitely missed Emily, I wish we had seen more of her! Maybe they should do a Prentiss Interpol spinoff?! Also loved the action at the end I was in the edge of my seat.
I gave up this season, but came back for Paget and the 200th episode.
Did not expect the reveal that JJ was pregnant again and miscarried. But why the hell did they let a pregnant agent go on that dangerous of a mission in the first place?
It was so nice seeing Prentiss again! I missed her.
I think the team is so used to each other being kidnapped and hurt that it doesn't even phase them anymore.
I honestly wish one episode had been focused more on the history of what happened and another on the present day rescue, but regardless it was a great episode. And while I would have loved more time with Emily its like Rossi said its more time than we had yesterday.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThe most important reunion between J.J. and her family and they didn't show it!!!!!! A.J.'s performance was awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. The episode felt rushed, it was good but could have been better. I think it could have easily been stretched out to a great two-parter.
ReplyDeleteWell great episode and good to see Prentiss back, even if it is only for one episode.
