i like that they are actually taking the series seriously. They got the people that made the dothraki language for GoT to make the Atrian language. so, ill give it a few episodes to impress me as well.
Maybe you shuld be hoping SC does well considering its going to be TTP''s lead in in a few weeks for the rest of the season? Also evn if SC fails they dont have to renew TTP. This isnt really a one or the other situation.
No, I don't hope that. I hope people watch TTP regardless SC being its lead in. And If they cancel SC, of course it is not guaranteed that they will renew The Tomorrow People, but its chances improves. The 100 can compete against it, because CW will not cancel 3 dramas. It's just my opinion. Today, I prefer TTP, maybe tomorrow, after I watch SC, I change my mind.
i miss roswell. i was so you when that came out. my age has literally doubled since then. its one of the shows i include with "Firefly" as "shouldnt have been cancelled"
I was a Roswell fan, mainly because of the romantic aspect, which in my opinion was the strongest of the show but the alien part needed more developing, now with StarCrossed I think is the contrary it seems that they invested a lot about the plot when it comes to the invasion and the alien, premises looks good but the leads are way off and seemed lacking of chemistry IMO, so I think it will depend what one is looking for in the show itself and what works for you individually.
Oh dont get me wrong, I love everything about Roswell, watched it week after week, but Ive heard some people didnt like some aspects of it. But I will check SC out tonight ;)
Live tweeting Teen Wolf, Almost Human, and StarCrossed. Watching Intelligence later. I have a feeling Teen Wolf is going to slay us tonight. "This might hurt" indeed.
Star-Crossed is not Roswell redux, so I am afraid anyone going into it with that mindset will be disappointed. I really enjoyed it as its own entity though. If they focus on the sociopolitical and not the love aspect, it could be a fascinating show.
Olympics, already watched Castle and Bitten, so Almost Human, Being Human, the Following, Intelligence and catch up on Shameless from last night if time allows
I am sorry to hear that. I think fans miss out on a lot of great shows because they forget that TV is a business and all TV shows must die at some point.
i thought BatB S1 was great. S2, not so much. As for SC, ill watch it for 6 episodes, grading each episode as i go. usually its characters that keep me watching a show. the sociopolitical angle sounds interesting.
Teen Wolf! So excited to see what's going to happen! Last week's episode was amazing and I'm sure it'll be the same way tonight. This show is so underrated and I want to scream and force everyone I know in front if the TV and watch it lol ;)
I've been wanting to catch up on Almost Human, too. I am SO behind! I've only seen the first three episodes, but haven't been able to watch the rest! D:
I wouldn't think SC or The 100 are contenders for TTP's spot, as especially The100 (not sure for SC) is planned to be a midseason project (like The Carrie diaries). Isaah Washington or Pedowitz mentioned in an interview that The100 is planned like that kind of show with limited scripts. I mean if SC hits really high in the ratings it has a chance on the main fall schedule but I think Hod is TTP's "main" enemy but both faiths depend on their performance in the new Time slot.
#BATB show is incredible for many reasons - great plot, great actors, but most of all it's about a devoted, true love and this is precious! Please give this show the chance to develop its full potential with many seasons in the future!
Comments like that are the reason why the show and it's fanbase turns me off. It's gotten past the point of annoying. There's shows that I think are incredible too but you don't see me shoving them down everyone's throat.
This was more directed at the fanbase then at you personally.
Same here. However, I don't think it represents the majority of the fans. I think that most of the annoying hashtag posts are coming from the same person using multiple different accounts. The style is similar ( I think it's someone very young) and the person only posts on BATB and nothing else.
Sing it Ralph! I stopped watching after 2x02.. the show lost its spark and the fans desperate OTT enthusiasm turned me off quicker than an ice bath in winter.
I don't know man.. they have a small but tight twitter community of a couple thousands.. they win all of the polls. I'd admire them if they didnt go about it in such an incredibly annoying way.
When I got a gmail notification on my phone that someone replied to my comment I was expecting the worst but was pleasantly surprised to read that you agree with me. I've gotten ripped pretty badly on the comment section here by fans of Beauty and the Beast.
it seem this has happen anything BATB related, they go crazy, I afraid their fan base is under 18 years of age.......and the horrible rating guarantee no season 3.
I just want them to stop with the stupid hashtags. Half the Beauty and the Beast comments I stumble across on this site are nothing but "#BATB" as though they really believe doing it here will help their trending goals. The other half are impassioned pleas to renew the show as though this site and its moderators are responsible for that decision.
I think that they think it actually helps Beauty and the Beast to "trend" when they use hashtags over here. I wish someone would explain to them that it doesn't.
The problem is that some are new to fandoms, and they dont know when the hashtag use ends, they are not tech savvy or are international fans (language barrier) but we are trying to educate each other. Bear with the fandom :) !!!!
Main problem with this, is that some are new to fandoms, and they dont know when the hashtag use ends, they are not tech savvy or are international fans (language barrier) but we are trying to educate each other. Bear with the fandom :) !!!!
I get that. And I'm all for people being passionate about their fandoms. However, when the fandom itself doesn't actually appear to do much reaching out to educate the others, the inundation of this behavior gets old and off-putting. For example, in this thread alone, the same person has posted "#BATB" and/or variations of "#BATB Please renew it" about a dozen times. If those of us outside the fandom try to clue her/him in, it's more likely to invite resentment than education, but if one in the fandom actually makes an effort to educate these members a little, it may go a little better. Frankly, I don't see much of that happening.
We do it, believe me we do! Twitter, FB etc. sometimes it just gets out of hands because there are so many new fans every day, I personally dont reply to my same fandom in this threads out of respect to their same passion, If I come across a comment like yours I like to reply back because it seems to me, people are not tolerant or understand the reason why people would do something like this. I, personally, just dont mind if people want to put #, $, @, *, before whatever they want to write or post but thats just me, tho :) .
Honestly, its more irritating because they normally just leave 5 or 6 comments of the same thing "#BATB forever" or "#BATB amazing renew true love" etc. Adding nothing to the conversation and not adding their opinions etc - which is what comment sections are for - this aint twitter. I dunno, something about the way some Beauty fans go about their business is really rubbing me (and some people) up the wrong way. And honestly, its kind of weird they are this passionate about a TV show, fandom and love for a show is one thing, but c'mon.. Its getting kind of weird now.
That's kinda my issue... there is nothing relevant added to a conversation, and it becomes kind of a misuse of the discussion-forum format. In threads like these I end up wading through post after post with no actual comments or relevant discussion points.
Except... the majority of them don't actually write or post anything. They just put #BATB over and over and over and over again. It's overbearing and not accomplishing their purpose. When I come here to check into the discussion threads and encounter that, I always feel like I've just opened my email inbox to find someone's spam mailed me 500 times.
Granted that education could be going on (though I haven't seen it there either). Regardless, Facebook and Twitter isn't where this is an issue, nor do I suspect is that where the Beauty and the Beast fandom's reputation is regarded as inappropriate for excessive and pointless hashtags and repetitive posting of the same thing over and over.
I'm curious why you see not-educating your fellow fans here (where it actually is an issue) as respect for their passion. Should that not also mean you should respect the passions of those that disagree with their behavior? Ignoring it and calling it respect doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Those outside the fandom who are frustrated with it likely feel just as passionate about their viewpoint and the atmosphere they'd prefer to have on these forums as you do (and their right to express those opinions is just as valid).
That's perspective, not intolerance. Realistically, if the fandom isn't going to address any of those behaviors from within, people outside it, particularly those who are sharing the same portion of cyberspace, certainly aren't going to stop bringing it up, or stop trying to do some educating of their own. Which, again, I think would be better received coming from others in the same fandom, and is completely possible.
If you want to educate people about the issue, maybe consider making the effort in *both* directions.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
