NCIS - Episode 11.15 - Bulletproof - Review: You gotta jump

Hi all! You might have noticed that there hasn't been posted an NCIS review for a while. I don't know why that is, but from now on I will be writing your reviews. I have been a long-time NCIS fan and I have previously reviewed Hostages and Nikita on SpoilerTV.

The latest NCIS episode is called "Bulletproof". The case starts when a truck reveals stolen U.S.M.C. merchandise, including bulletproof vests. However, Abby later discovers that the vests aren't bulletproof, but faulty instead (or more likely, fatal). Tensions run even higher when a military 'mom militia' admits to having sent their sons and daughters in war areas some extra body armour, which could be faulty gear. So besides tracking down the source of the fatal vests, the team must also locate the troops that potentially has them. The faulty gear appeared to be part of care package that the mothers shipped to their loved ones at a military event. The organizer of the event knew she was shipping out faulty gear and also killed the truck driver. Oh, and the boss of the company that manufactured the gear was also part of the conspiracy.

The much more interesting part of the episode was about McGee and Delilah. Delilah wanted to come to NCIS to thank the team personally for taking down Parsa. When McGee sees Tony and Delilah movie referencing paralyzed people, he takes it as an insult to Delilah. However, she joked about her situation on purpose, something that shows us how incredibly strong she is. McGee clearly struggles with her disability, which is evident by his clumsiness in the elevator. However, at the end he gets Delilah to meet Linn, a navy soldier who was paralyzed thanks to the faulty vests. Linn is not discouraged by his situation, he just says you have to move forward. He shows that life isn't over for him when he takes a jump with a parachute. Delilah also wants to take a jump, together with poor Timmy who is clearly not overly happy with this. However, I have no doubt he will do this for his girlfriend.

Once again, the case of the week was a bit yawn. I didn't really feel that the stakes were that high, there certainly could have been more tension. I also got a bit confused as to who was involved and who wasn't and why. Plus, the promos kind of promised a big ending, but that wasn't really anywhere to be found. The nice little team moments made the episode still acceptable for me, but the cases really need to get more interesting.

Final thoughts:
-Jimmy's adoption is coming closer! One of the team members is gonna have a baby!
-LOL at the boys who want to get arrested.
-Probie Bishop getting the probie treatment from Tony and McGee. Yep, history repeating itself!
-Abby making the company guy stay put. Go Abby!
-Seriously, why does the woman wear a bulletproof vest which she knows is faulty? Not a very smart bad guy!
-Anyone else have a Kate flashback when Tony opened Bishop's bulletproof vest?

What did you think of this week's episode? Did you enjoy the case of the week? Loved the 'aw' moments between McGee and Delilah?

Promo for next week, the 250th episode:
