Law and Order SVU: Episode 15.14 - Wednesday's Child - Review

The Law and Order series including SVU are a timeless classics. They show humanity, truth, and the writers are not affair to go the extra mile to make the show relate to the audience in a way every other show fails too.

This episode has it all, three woman, two in which are mothers. One was a kidnapper but deep down loved kids and had a deep secret that she had been carry with her, since Alexa's baby boy died when she was just a teenager...
(Played by Rosanna Arquette.)

The other mother adopted a son with her husband from another country with a lot of health and behavior problems. The child is too much for her to handle, so Lisa broke down and handed the boy over to Alexa and Roger, not knowing about their past.

The third woman had always put her career first before having a family. In this episode she thought she's pregnant, so starts to imagine what it could be like to have a family of her own. When she found out that she wasn't pregnant, she thought, she should have felt relieved. Mainly because it really wasn't the right time for her and her boyfriend to have a child, because they both just got promoted in they jobs. But deep down Olivia wanted that family with Brian, and knowing that its not going to happen, really made her upset.

When Nikki's father came home from a long trip to find his son missing, and then to learn his wife gave him away. Which has to been every father's / husband's worst night mere. On top of it, Nikki's health problem made time a very important facture.

It seemed like Nikki's father was more afraid for his life than his mother. Don't get me wrong, she had regret about sending Nikki to those people when she found out that they had a history of child pornography. But she didn't seem to had any regret that she gave Nikki away because he was to much for her to handle. Which is very sad, and I think that's why Nikki always acted out,
a child knows when their never really wanted.

All the actors where brilliant in this episode, Rosanna Arquette was amazing as always, the woman plays the perfect villain! The great thing about this episode, we weren't overloaded with personal story lines. It was mostly about the case, and the only personal story line was about Olivia, which was done in an conceptual way. With the clock ticking...tick...tick...tick...Times running out Olivia...
