Helix - Episode 1.07 - 'Survivor Zero' Preview

A couple of things to look forward to in the upcoming episode of Helix, named Survivor Zero:
- Ilaria COO Constance Sutton, played by Star Trek Voyager star Jeri Ryan, doesn’t disappoint. She’s a layered and significant character.
- We get more clues to the nature of Hataki’s interest in Julia.

The show is starting to come together as the story continues to move forward and answers are slowly revealed. The previous episode, Aniqatiga, left off with a fleet of helicopters from Ilaria, the employer of Hataki and Balleseros, landing at the base. Alan and Sarah are disrupted from their post-sex whatever to go meet the rescue team that they realize they never succeeded in calling. Julia had awoken with silver eyes. And we learned Daniel was a kidnapped kid stolen by Hataki.

Popping out of the helicopter is Ryan’s character Sutton, who speaks in corporate motivational phrases like turning negatives to positives, but as we soon see, has a harder edge.

True to Helix’s style, there’s distrust everywhere, and everyone is hiding something. Also true to the series, the forward momentum in plot moves ahead in a consistent pace. Thankfully we don’t see much of Alan and Sarah together, but the quad is still alive and well as hallucination Peter asks Julia an interesting question. Finally, we see more of Daniel’s long lost sister Anana, and she gets some answers that she’s been looking for. One final spoiler – there are no rats or monkeys in this one.

Hope you enjoy it as I did, and let me know your thoughts in the comments.
