THE CW ANNOUNCES EARLY PICKUPS FOR

THE 2014-2015 SEASON

February 13, 2014 (Burbank, California) - The CW Network has ordered early pickups for the 2014-15 season for its hit series ARROW, REIGN, THE ORIGINALS, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and SUPERNATURAL,which will be returning for itstenth season next fall. The series pickups were announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

“This season we've had great success with our new hit series THE ORIGINALS paired with SUPERNATURAL, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is #2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with ARROW continuing to gain among young men, and REIGN growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” said Pedowitz. “I'm very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.”

The CW's lineup of breakout freshman hit series THE ORIGINALS and fan favorite SUPERNATURAL has doubled the network's Tuesday night ratings year-to-year in adults 18-34 (+100%, 1.4 vs. 0.7), grown +150% in adults 18-49 (1.5 vs. 0.6), and gained +88% in total viewers (3.2 million vs. 1.7 million) versus last season. In its ninth season, SUPERNATURAL has seen double-digit increases year-to-year in total viewers and all key demos, and recently had its most watched episodes since 2010.

In its second season, ARROW is The CW's most-watched series (3.9 million), and is #1 in its time period among men 18-34 (1.4). THE VAMPIRE DIARIES remains the network's highest-rated show in all key demos in its fifth season, and season to date is ranked #2 in its time period among adults 18-34 (1.8 – tie), and #3 in adults 18-49 (1.8), ahead of ABC and NBC. Season to date, REIGN has improved its time period in total viewers (+4%, 2.35 million) and in women 18-49 (+8%, 1.3).

This season, both ARROW and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES have also seen a 25% jump in digital viewing versus last season, and SUPERNATURAL has seen a huge 57% jump in digital viewing over last year. THE ORIGINALS was also named the most social new series of the fall season by ListenFirst Media.

  1. Yay for Arrow.
This doesn't look good for TTP.

  2. Great!! I love Supernatural and Arrow!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh my god reign season 2 that's awesome, I just screamed like a fan girl. This makes up for not being on tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Long may she Reign!!

And yay for Arrow, Supernatural, and The Originals!

    ReplyDelete
  5. So happy right now!!! Supernatural, Reign and Arrow are my favorite shows from CW. =)

    ReplyDelete
  6. Jenna, I had the same reaction!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yay Arrow, TOs, and TVD!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hell yeah! A little surprised about reign but still, today is a good day!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I doubt we'll be the only two :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. Congratulations to the fans! :D

    ReplyDelete
  11. As much as I love TTP, I wouldn't renew it before seeing how it does on Mondays. Holding a 0.5 should be good enough, but consistently hitting 0.4 will spell cancellation.

    ReplyDelete
  12. YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Arrow, TO and SPN ! :D

    ReplyDelete
  14. Surprised by the early Reign renewal, but good for the fans! I may get into the show now that it is renewed.
Yay for Arrow! It's future was never in doubt, but good to see anyway :D

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yay for Arrow!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Reign renewed already??????

    WOW WOW WOWO WOW

    Amazing and so unexpected

    ReplyDelete
  17. I did the same!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Reign and Originals - hell yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  19. It was nice knowing you TTP. Another season of Arrow = major yes.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And because of syndication, they might as well hand Arrow its Season 4 renewal too!

    ReplyDelete
  21. didn't expect that to happen so soon but I guess they made it quick :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Everybody is so happy for Reign. It's true that people always cheer for the underdog.

    ReplyDelete
  23. They should, they know they are going to renew it for season 4 even if it flops (which I don't see happening), so... yeah, they should

    ReplyDelete
  24. This makes the poll from yesterday look funny. Reign certainly deserves it. This will be a rough fight for the last spots. Hopefully Hod snags one. WIll be a tough finish for the 2 newcomers and the other shows. But The100 is though as an always midseason show so it could get a spring place again.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yay for Arrow and SPN (even though it was a given).

    ReplyDelete
  26. Arrow deserves at least 4 seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Its amazing that now i can watch Reign and not be afraid that it will end soon :)

And Yes for the Originals, its my 2nd favorite new show after Reign

Amazing for Arrow too, S2 is much better

Supernatural is amazing too, but i kinda hope S10 will be its last season because its getting weaker, but if they find another interesting stooryline, why not

As for TVD, last year it was my favorite show, but this year quality went down really fast :(

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's a fun show. I love it! :3

    ReplyDelete
  29. So Beauty and the Beast & Hart of Dixie officially join The CW's other freshman shows in the Thunderdome. 5 shows enter. None may leave.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Not surprised at the big 4 but a nice early renewal for Reign, I thought it would be just not so soon. Its all up to T100 and SC now if they can pull it out of the bag they could too be renewed. They might see what kind of deal they can do for HOD before they decide on its fate.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow, 2 of my favorite shows in the CW are not in that list. TTP & BATB.....ughhhh its gonna be a blood bath for me to pick between the two at this moment.

    ReplyDelete
  32. disqus_BLvd5NQY3F13 February 2014 at 19:32

Arrow was expected it should get 5 season for covering 5 year on the island?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I was pretty confident that Hart of Dixie was getting a fourth season, but now I'm not so sure. It pulled a 0.3 on Monday, and i doubt anyone is interested in buying the show for syndication. I can actually see it improving on Fridays, but only because Whose Line Is It Anyway will be its lead-in.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Not necessarily. If the ratings were to drop massively over a considerable time period then it'd be cancelled. But when you consider its ratings success, I wouldn't be too surprised if it made it to season 5.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow I am shocked that they've renewed Reign so soon. The show must be bringing in tones of advertisers in the W18-34 demo I guess. I still don't understand very well the plan though, as it could very well collapse in the spring secret circle style or it could be that the CW can only give it the Fridays at 8 slot (if The 100 succeeds, there is no other slot available). Good for its fans though, I will start watching now.

Also, super happy about all the others, but especially Arrow, even though they were 100% obvious. So sad that The Tomorrow People could not be part of this group :/ Hart of Dixie will certainly be renewed though, not worried about that one.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The intrigues are great, i just got my mom hooked on Reign. Can't wait to tell her there will be a second season))

    ReplyDelete
  37. they might just be waiting to see how it does on Friday and/or seeing what kind of deal they can do for syndication/licencing

    ReplyDelete
  38. If The 100 gets renewed, then I think everything else will be cancelled, including Hart of Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Nikita did a 0.2 last season and got renewed for syndication, Hart of Dixie is going to get renewed too no matter what

    ReplyDelete
  40. 1 or 2 will make it out alive

    ReplyDelete
  41. I guess the CW looked at my poll yesterday and saw that Reign was winning by a landslide so they had to renew it haha

    ReplyDelete
  42. I see you comment here a lot and i see you are TTP fan, now that you will start watching Reign im really interested to see your opinion :D

    ReplyDelete
  43. Even if it holds at 0.5, there is no room on the CW schedule for it. Where would they place it?

    ReplyDelete
  44. OMG YES FOR REIGN!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The Tomorrow People:(

    ReplyDelete
  46. HoD could still pull a 6 episodes renewal ala Nikita, but it's not getting cancelled; it had 3 full season so a 4th is a must

    ReplyDelete
  47. If it can pull at least 0.4s on friday, then I think it has a chance. Maybe they will give a final short season like they did with Nikita.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Still above the low rated ones, and we still have to wait for SC and 100 to premier and see how they hold in ratings, because out of the remaining shows they have to pick 2 or 3 more shows to stay for next fall season. Still hoping for TTP & BATB until the end.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Probably only during summer though, my regular season is already over crowded! I am still quite sad about TTP though, especially because of how awesome the last episodes have been, but I've grown to accept it, unfortunately.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I watch all of them, so I´m ecstatic right now!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hart of Dixie will be renewed for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Reign was theCWs pet show this year, they heavily promoted it and hyped it up. Cancelling it now would kind of seem dull now.

But in any way, we'll see how it performs next season.

I could be another BatB OR dig itself outta that hole

Kinda worried about The 100, renewals already being out block my hopes of them getting renewals

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am kind of over Hart of Dixie it was so boring this season with Zoe Wade apart and now they even ruined Lavan and annabeth. if it gets cancelled i will let it go with an easy heart.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hart of Dixie will not be cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Right where it is on Monday, but for that to happen Star Cross and The 100 would need to flop, then it would be safe by holding a 0.5. However, the chances for that are extremely unlikely. There could be a potential Friday slot if they renew Hart of Dixie for 6 episodes like they did with Nikita, but I don't see CW going there

    ReplyDelete
  56. But they didn't have as much success as this year. This year they have four shows that pull 1.0s, and last year they only had Arrow and TVD and sometimes SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I only watch Arrow and Supernatural on the CW so this was obvious for me :D

    ReplyDelete
  58. TTP is basically finished now unless The 100/Star Crossed fail completely.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I do expect some kind of renewal for HOD, a 4th season isnt a given not with this shows ratings and the possibility that they might not find a decent syndication deal for it. But MP does seem to think shows need short seasons to finish off storylines even when they could easily wrap it this season.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Arrow! They might as well say Season 4 is a go too, and probably
beyond! Annoyed slightly at SPN renewal hope they announce it as the
    final season.

    ReplyDelete
  61. even through Reign is much better that TTP for me, im sad for TTP too. Last episodes are getting much better, but still not close to Reign :D

    ReplyDelete
  62. It's now impossible for the CW to renew both newbies unless they do something weird like holding one of them for midseason or for summer or that they bring back Hart of Dixie only on midseason which I doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Reign...hell YES!!!!
    The Originals...ditto.
    Arrow...ditto.
TVD & SPN whatevs, lol. I know they're popular, but I can't go long without re-losing interest in the former and I haven't managed to get into the latter.

    ReplyDelete
  64. GO REIGN GOOOOOO! The Originals, Arrow, TVD and SPN we already kbew they were going to reenew them! im happy for all 5 shows... TTP still has a shot Im pretty sure starcrossed will be a flop so maybe they will renew it

    ReplyDelete
  65. HoD will be renewd for syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Once again, we have the Nikita case: it scored a 0.2 and yet it was renewed. If the CW renewed Nikita, do you really think they will cancell Hart of Dixie? That seems next to impossible

    ReplyDelete
  67. I started watching Reign & TTP at the same time, grew out of TTP and liked Reign more, but at this point I reconnected back with TTP and if I have to choose between both shows, Ill keep TTP. Still hoping for TTP & BATB to be renewed, my two favorite shows in the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hooray for Supernatural! So excited! :D

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well, the EPs already have planned for 5 seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  70. wich is still a possibility.
I WANT the 100 to be picked up (because it seems like a badass survival show, and like Lost 2.0 and has Henry Ian Cusik) but mid-season shows don't seem to work too well with theCW

    ReplyDelete
  71. 5 renewed + the 100 + ANTM/HoD + TTP + two new shows = 10 slots. I'm not saying this will happen, but it is just one possibility.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Congratulations to everyone! Especially Reign, cause that's a great surprise! YAY!
Fingers crossed for The Tomorrow People! :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. ratings pretty much speak for themselves, this show is in no danger of not making that 5 seasons (at least) barring any disasters.

    ReplyDelete
  74. It's impossible for them to pick 3 shows for next fall out of the remaining shows. They can only pick 2 AND that's if they air all of Top Model during summer. In addition, Hart of Dixie is certain to be renewed, so it's more like 1/4 (unless they do something very unconventional like holding a show for midseason or for summer):
The CW has 10 hours per week. TVD, TO, Arrow, SPN, Reign, HOD, 3 newbies = 9 shows. One spot left

    ReplyDelete
  75. It's still a possibility but I have serious doubts about it. Star Crossed might fail, but I think The 100 will do ok.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Happy for all shows.Supernatural and Arrow are the ones I'm invested in and it's nice to have confirmation even though we knew it was coming.
But I also started Reign and so far I'm pleasantly surprised. And it's always nice watching a show without thinking that it may get cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Still, CW will renew it in order to get more episodes to sell the show to syndication; there's always a home for shows over 80 episodes in cable, networks just have to look, and The CW is going to get that with Hart of Dixie, success or no success. Even CBS renewed The Good Wife when they had a lot of success; the netowrk's success won't change the fact that syndication is the ultimate saving grace for a show

    ReplyDelete
  78. It'll depend on the strength of their pilots.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I hope it stays at 5, honestly with this pace it will be tough to keep the show interesting for more than 5 seasons. I don't say it's impossible but I hope the CW doesn't try to over exploit it and ruin it that way.

    ReplyDelete
  80. No thanks, I don't wanna get bored of the show and wait for it to end.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Ive read that the CW is only ordering 3 new pilots, so the chances are higher for the remaining shows if the pilots are not that good.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Could it be because Mark Pedowitz supports the show?

    ReplyDelete
  83. I don't think anyone will be lining up to grab Hart of Dixie in syndication. If they did sell this show into syndication it would be at an incredibly cheap price and probably wouldn't offset the costs of producing another season of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I agree. Even then, the CW doesn't need it since it always air 9 scripted hours in the fall anyway and they already have 5 renewed shows + HoD+ 3 newbies. But it's very sad that it will come down to TTP vs. The 100 since I really love TTP but The 100 has been one of the shows I've been looking forward to the most ever since last year's pilot season.

    ReplyDelete
  85. If they can get 10 seasons of great quality episodes then I'm all for it. But I'd rather 5 really good seasons instead of 5 really good seasons and then 5 below par ones.

    ReplyDelete
  86. hopefully, would hate for 100 to bite the dust so soon

    ReplyDelete
  87. Even then, the CW doesn't need it since it always air 9 scripted hours
in the fall anyway and they already have 5 renewed shows + HoD+ 3
    newbies.

As for midseason shows failing, the CW has very little midseason shows to begin with, so you don't really have a large enough sample to comment. For instance, the year in which Hart of Dixie premiered, they had no midseason shows at all. In addition, out of the few they did have, both The Carrie Diaries and Life Unexpected were renewed, so it's not that bad (even if TCD was a renewal to plug a hole).

    ReplyDelete
  88. I knew it was a lock, but I'm still damn happy at Arrow getting a third season. And Supernatural is still entertaining, even if it isn't as good as it used to be it is still better than most other shows airing.

Its hard to believe this is the same network that used to specialize in rich white girls with problems. I'm glad the new CW President understands what the audience wants.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I could see Hallmark buying it.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Reign was a shocker for me too, I didn't think it would get an early renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  91. very likely, they heavily promoted Reign over the summer. Indeed a possibility.
Also he said that he was 'bullish to renew the show'

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yep. All depends on how TTP does on Mondays compared to how The 100/Star Crossed do. If the ratings are similar, the Upfronts could be very interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  93. off course it depends on how many shows they pick up, but I doubt the CW will pick up only 3 new shows and not have any mid season back ups. Unless they plan to renew more of the bubble shows and bring them back as mid season replacements?

    ReplyDelete
  94. I don't think anyone did. But I'm sure they wanted to get it over with quickly and give the TTP, BatB and HoD (maybe...who knows?) the chance to wrap their storylines up properly

    ReplyDelete
  95. I hope the announces 10th season as the last for Supernatural.10 seasons is a great number for any show, and it should end on a high before fans beg for it to end.

    ReplyDelete
  96. might come down to cost, licencing, what kind of syndication deal they can get if any?

    ReplyDelete
  97. I am certain that the CW is not ordering solely 3 pilots. They may pick up less than 3 shows but there is no way they are ordering just 3 pilots. But even picking up less than 3 shows is extremely unlikely.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Wasn't TCD renewed because of the Sex and the City license tough ? They wanted to get enough episodes to have TCD aire side by-side with SaTC in syndication.
Of course they never stated that officially but the license must've been pretty expensive to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Abcfamily,Lifetime,WE,Hallmark could be interested.Style bought Gossip Girl.HoD is very cheap to make so even a cheap syndication deal would offset its production costs.CW reneed Nikita remember, for syndication as much as closure with worse ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  100. off course, I haven't heard much other than Flash seems like a near definite for pick up.

    ReplyDelete
  101. The CW will not premiere just 2 new shows, they will premiere 3 shows.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Over 6 season may damage the show, like what happened to Smallville: outstanding from seasons 1-6, and then quality declined from 7 and onwards. I don't think Arrow needs to run that long

    ReplyDelete
  103. Reign is steady even against the Olympics. Just as important it is produced by CBS studios. The only other show on the CW that is produced by them is Beauty and the Beast and their ratings are not good. This keeps CBS happy and gives them a guaranteed show next year. Although I don't watch Reign, I'm happy that something out of the ordinary is sticking around and I'm happy for the fans of Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  104. don't like it don't watch and certainly don't call for it to be announced as the last season when others clearly still want to watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I am so happy with this. I love Reign and The Originals, and The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural are enjoyable too. I'm not a huge fan of Arrow but the show is pretty solid and has a lot of fans so I think that's a good decision. However, I do think that they should wrap up Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  106. If the 100 and star crossed both flop, then I think next year's schedule will be:

    Monday: The Flash + Supernatural
    Tuesday: The Originals+New
    Wednesday: Arrow+New
    Thursday: TVD+Reign

Remember, the CW is certain to premiere 3 new shows on the Monday-Thursday schedule next year. The only somehow possible chance would be if they timeshared America's Next Top Model and Hart of Dixie, which would open up a slot on Fridays. But even then I am not convinced because if that's the way they are going to go, they are better of just renewing BaTB and getting syndication profits from it than renewing The Tomorrow People which would fall to 0.3s on Friday when paired with Top Model or Hart of Dixie. I think on Fridays they should just do Hart of Dixie + Top Model and then Whose Line + Hart of Dixie.

If the 100 is successful, Reign will have to move to Fridays at 8 and lead into Hart of Dixie the whole year, which would push Top Model and Whose Line for summer entirely.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Why? They don't have to do anything. CBS broke tradition this season. The CW might premiere 3 fall shows, but they might only premiere 2.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Most of Nikita's syndicated interest was overseas where it always did a solid business. They easily recouped any costs they endured during its low-rated production. That won't happen with Hart of Dixie. Any low-to-moderate potential future profit from syndication might not be enough incentive to keep this show on the schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I think I will forever be one of the only few people who preferred Smallville.s later seasons haha.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Networks renew shows without syndication deals all the time; see Chuck, Fringe (it got it after being renewed for a 5th season), The Good Wife (which got it on season 4th), among many others. Networks are confident that they can reach a syndication deal AFTER the show gets 80+ episodes, if it is on the 3rd season, the show will be renewed, even if it doesn't get a syndication deal afterwards (see Chuck)

    ReplyDelete
  111. the fans begged the show to end since Kripke left. Only after season 7 the show found a new groove.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I don't have a problem with Reign being renewed, I just find it odd that they are doing it so soon when they have a history of shows in that exact slot dropping to cancellation levels late in the spring. There was no need to do it right now.

The Olympics argument is a good one, I take it. However, not the CBS studios. Under the CW joint venture agreement between CBS and WB, any profits that are generated by shows aired first run on the CW are shared by both entities, including syndication profits, thus making it 100% irrelevant who is producing the show.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Im thinking the same, this year has been a good season over all with their new shows, they rather keep bubble shows for mid - season back up rather than gambling with new shows, (less cost) it will all depend on how the new shows pilots look versus the bubble shows.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I have never heard such thing, I honestly doubt there is any truth to that. Where did you see it?

    ReplyDelete
  115. I think most people are considering The Flash a lock already. I'm leaning that way myself. I'm always a skeptic though. I remember that both "The Selection" pilots were widely considered to be locks simply because of their resemblance to The Hunger Games.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Yeah, I just say there is a slightly little chance to put TTP somewhere in the schedule, but I don't see the show getting renewed, unless it starts doing something like 0.7 on Mondays. Besides, I don't see The 100 being cancelled; we don't know yet, but it looks like something that can work with the Arrow lead in

    ReplyDelete
  117. Kinda gutted Reign got picked up, happy for the fans but im my eyes its a wasted slot. I still can't believe they shop at Free People and Urban Outfitters for the clothes they wear on a period drama.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Every CW show (except syndicated ones like 'LA Complex') are co-produced by CBS

    ReplyDelete
  119. If you are right then Supernatural will finally have been on every night of the week that the CW programs for, which is a silly thing to be happy about, but I'm a simple person. OTOH, I would also be happy if Supernatural stayed where it is watched and reasonably safe. The one thing I don't think is that the CW will allow Supernatural to crash and burn, so I hope if they move it to Mondays it does its magic, keeps decent ratings and brings The Flash (or whatever up with it). Oh well, we'll wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  120. disqus_BLvd5NQY3F13 February 2014 at 20:00

yea I only watch Arrow! and waiting for the flash plot

    ReplyDelete
  121. I honestly think that of TTP, Star crossed and the 100, the 100 has the highest chance of survival. Because:
    1. It would be the newest with the freshest ratings
    2. It seems to have very large appeal(Hunger games fans and Lord of the flies fans? who knows)

    ReplyDelete
  122. I didn't see it anywhere, that's merely speculation on my part.

That's what I am, I base my opinions not soley on ratings but also on production logistics.

If you have a valuable license you'll at least try to profit with it.

    ReplyDelete
  123. IMO, if the ratings are similarly low (<0.5), they will all be cancelled and they will simply do:

    Monday: The Flash+Supernatural
Tuesday: The Originals + New Drama

    Wednesdays: Arrow + New Drama
    Thursday: TVD + Reign
Friday: Hart of Dixie + Top Model and later Whose Line + Hart of Dixie

They don't need a sophmore show that will just be cancelled at the end of the year anyway (see also: Beauty and the Beast, The Carrie Diaries)

    ReplyDelete
  124. Reign is a good show, from what i have noticed, most people that are upset about its renewal haven't watched it yet. Give it a chance, its an adventure ;).

    ReplyDelete
  125. Network presidents support all shows that bring them money. I am guessing the W18-34 are very good for the show.

    ReplyDelete
  126. For me it mostly depends on where they go. If the material isn't there, they should end. If it is, they should continue. Knots Landing had some of their best material in their 12th season.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I Knew it. 4 of my shows renewed. (Not watching Reign). And I know that if Carrie Diaries will be renewed, wow, should be a miracle.

  128. Some fans are always begging for SPN to end. I'm mostly just happy it didn't end with season 5.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Supernatural is unsinkable. It can go on forever.

They will never run out of towns to visit and monsters to kill. I just hope they get rid of all angels except Cas. I can't remember the moment when i would enjoy the heaven stuff even for a second.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I think if there were some nice or interesting angels who got to live for more than an episode, that would help. I miss Naomi.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Agreed. It will come down to how costly the bubble shows are now and how much the CW likes their pilots. Given how few pilots they've ordered so far, that at least somewhat bodes well for one or more bubble shows.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I'd say season 2-7 were great, season 1 and 8 were fun, 10 was acceptable and 9 was garbage.

I'm just saying that on my end this show can continue as long as it wants, it's a show based on a comic book series that goes on ever since the mid 50s (earlier if you count GAs guest appearances). They can have this show go on for years and replace actors by replacing people wearing the Hood.

Quality depends on the showrunner, Smallvilles showrunners didn't care by season 9 and got their groove back in 10 but couldn't work with the minor budget

    ReplyDelete
  133. I preferred them too.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I can see Arrow and iZombie being paired up.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I enjoyed them all (minus season 9)

    ReplyDelete
  136. People should give shows a chance/watch so that you will know if its a show you would be excited to see renewed or not.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Agreed there, but if the ratings were all consistent at 0.7 per se... what would the CW do then?

You don't think Arrow and The Flash will go together? Other than that that lineup seems about right.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I think real Supernatural fans don't really beg for it to end. It's just people who call themselves fans but probably don't care for the show.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Sorry don't remeber who is naomi, but i miss balthazar a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  140. If TTP magically starts pulling 0.7s on Monday, which would be the shocker of the season for me (and one I would be over the moon about by the way). I really hope The 100 is renewed though (I feel that TTP is doomed no matter what, so I don't feel bad rooting for The 100)

    ReplyDelete
  141. I want The 100 to be a cool show, the trailer looked amazing and with the jungles and fights between characters a la Lord of the Flies style.

    ReplyDelete
  142. People expected The Originals and TVD to go together, but that didn't happen. I think iZombie could be paired with Arrow

    ReplyDelete
  143. I suppose since iZombie is also a DC Comics thing. Makes just as much sense as putting The Flash there really. DC superhero night.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Naomi was the angel last season who was mindwiping angels and then Metatron killed her at the end.

    I liked Balthazar too.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Yeah, I understand that, it's just that I've seen too many good shows suffer quality declines for being on the air for too long; the already mentioned Smallville, House, Supernatural (a lot of people still enjoy the show, but I find the later seasons mediocre in comparison with the first 5 ones), even HIMYM during its 8th season (luckily it has done much better on its final season), and I wouldn't want to add Arrow to the list. 5-6 seasons are enough, at least for me

    ReplyDelete
  146. CBS always premieres 3.5 hours of new programming in the fall, which is exactly what they did this year (or practically, seeing that they premiered 3 new hours). Just because they premiered more comedy hours than usual, doesn't mean the number of new hours has significantly changed.

But sure, the number of hours is not set in stone. However, the CW, as much as we celebrate how much it's improving, is still doing AWFUL if we compare it with another network. It still has a long way to go. They will accomplish that by premiering new shows, not by holding on to shows that, 95% of the cases, get lower ratings as they age.

The only way they will premiere just 2 new dramas is if they have a horrible development season.

    ReplyDelete
  147. The clothes almost got me to drop the show too but if you get through 4-5 episodes other great things will out weight the way characters dress up.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Whatever they put on Mondays and do more than .5 will be renewed, HOD & BATB havent get there 13 episodes in.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Yet Nikita dosent have a syndication deal as far as I know,so it hasnt made back money lost.HoD is very cheap to produce so even a cheap syndication deal will make back money.CW exsists to syndicate its shows.CW renewd Nikita to get it to syndication (and closure),they'll renew HoD too.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I dont know about the 100, show looks boring and premiering it on the late winter/spring will doublty make more than .5 IMO, on the other hand if TTP makes more than .5 on a Monday night will give it more chances for renewal, BATB and HOD havent been able to do so 13 episodes in.

    ReplyDelete
  151. NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HAPPY I AM FOR SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH :D:D:D:D:D:D
    TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  152. Okay, I was rooting for Reign before. Now it looks like i have to switch my game and root for the 100.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think it's the whole "giving the spin-off a chance to stand on its own" thing.

    ReplyDelete
  154. No. Not if there aren't spots for it, which there aren't.

    ReplyDelete
  155. On no i hated her and especially the whole Angels' tuning in storyline where they just screw stuff into brains and go through memories, orders etc. This entire storyline is so unrealistic i pretend it never happened))

    ReplyDelete
  156. Yeah. I think The Flash could do well by itself, but I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  157. It got one 0.3 against Olpmics'CW won't use that 0.3 against it.Nikita got 0.3-0.4 and a couple 0.2 s and was renewed for syndication as much as closure.

    ReplyDelete
  158. As I said, Nikita makes its bones in other markets. The show is already strong in syndication and DVD sales overseas. US interest won't make or break anything. If anything, Netflix will be the incentive to keep HoD on the air, not a paltry syndication deal.

    ReplyDelete
  159. So proud of the Supernatural fandom! Awesome for fans of Arrow, Reign, TVD and The Originals as well. With the exception of Reign the announcement should be filed under 'no duh news'.

    ReplyDelete
  160. CD was renewed cause it did well/made money online and filler/spackle.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Reign vs The Tomorrow People is finally over, glad that Reign won

Looks like now it will be Star Crossed vs TTP vs The 100
I will probably be in team The 100, or if it disappoints and TTP keeps improving on team TTP this time

    ReplyDelete
  162. Good for The Originals and Reign, bad for The Vampire Dramas.

    ReplyDelete
  163. ok, there arent spots for it according to you or the CW? Because last time I checked we can't really predict CW decisions because they are usually not like any other networks. Like whatever happened today with Reign wasn't expected this early ! Im just saying at this point all the shows in the bubble got lots of shots and TTP the highest because we dont know how many new shows the CW will bet on, we dont know if SC or 100 will do better than TTP, or how many of the bubble shows will stay.

    ReplyDelete
  164. You're right that the ratings are poor, but the CW is more of a syndication warehouse than any other network. Why else did they renew the TCD when it made absolutely no sense? I don't expect them to premiere only 2 fall shows, especially if they pick up both the Flash (which I'm excited for) and Supernatural: Tribes (which as a fan I think is a big mistake).

The odds are against TTP, especially if the 100 does well, but I wouldn't say it's just a fight between the two of them. I expect TTP to be cancelled, but I'm not going to write it off just yet. Of all the remaining shows (including HoD), there are two spots left, MAYBE three, even if the the third is as a midseason replacement or something.

I as wonderin can anybody answer in order the highest rated show to the lowest im tryin to figure out the chances of batb getting renewed and ttp

    ReplyDelete
  166. Is there any chance that CW could start having 3 shows every day or start bradcasting on sundays like other stations?

    ReplyDelete
  167. Yay for SPN! I'm so happy right now.
Should I give Reign a chance?

    ReplyDelete
  168. How many total slots are there? 10? Two for each evening? American networks are so confusing.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Why? I've always wondered why the CW never does that

    ReplyDelete
  170. You definitely should!

    ReplyDelete
  171. You definitelly should, for example i was so pissed when they picked Reign and not The Selection last year, but now i can say Reign is my favorite new show (and i started watching like 20 new shows this year)

    ReplyDelete
  172. Do you find historical inaccuracies annoying? If not, then you should give it a shot.

    ReplyDelete
  173. They only have a contract for 10 hour primetime programming from the affiliates.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Ironically, even though Reign is obviously the network's favorite, it has ALOT of haters. Alot of people don't seem happy that it got renewed.Give it a chance people, you won't regret it ;).

    ReplyDelete
  175. These early pick ups could be the reason why the Cw ordered only 6 pilots(5+SPN Tribes). They are lowering their coasts for new shows and invest it in their already popular stuff. The biggest CW issue is the limited amount of timeslots. I'm really surprised people are still hoping for BATB to get renewed I just think their current ratings and moves by the network to put it off sealed it's fate. But what can I say about IT, I saved so many Save the circle petitions that I can't count.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I know CW only orderew 6 pilots, but they still can order more, right?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Yes!!! what have you been waiting for???

    ReplyDelete
  178. Well, there goes TTP, a shame, I was enjoying it. On the other hand, "well done Reign!" It really was the suprise of the year for me, I hated the concept and was sure it was DOA (specially on the CW), but I'm happy I was wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Yes of course. But usually they do it all together, the pilots are shot somewhere in march and casting has to happen, so I don't think that ther are coming more this season. But I still hope dorothy must die gets a pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  180. It's not real hate, that are frustrated BatB,TTP & other fans. I mean I get it I would be a bit mad as well.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I hope for at least 2 more pilots. 6 would be alright, if 2 of them wrent totally bad (Jane + Identity)

I hope for Dorothy, Painted Girls, Hourman, Perfectionists

    ReplyDelete
  182. Oh, I thought that was CW's choice, thanks for answering!

    ReplyDelete
  183. I gave it a chance and didn't like it. Couldn't go through the whole episode.

    ReplyDelete
  184. I watch BatB, and I have no hope whtasoever. At some point you need to start being realistic, and both BatB and HoD (which I also watch) need to go. Please, don't hate for saying this, it's only my humble opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  185. Big mistake, because it has only gotten better. You can't use one episode to determine a show. Come on, ONE episode??? The story hadn't even begun to pick up yet. Also, from episode 6, s*** gets really real. especially episode 7 ;).

    ReplyDelete
  186. I tried, but you are definitely missing out ;).

    ReplyDelete
  187. HoD will be renewed for syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Deadline said they would order 8 as Pedowitz said they would at TCAs,

    ReplyDelete
  189. I don't know why are people so bothered by this historical accuarcy. They are taking creative liberties so the show would be more appealing & interesting. Every show does it, so I don't see it being such a huge issue. With history you can never be sure what really happened. ;-) Honestly the show made me google some history, and I'm sure other people did aswell. I stuck with the show cause it got solid character development, and Adelaide & Megan are killing it.

    ReplyDelete
  190. I don't 'hate' it, I'm indifferent to it. I'm happy for the fans but from a not watcher POV its obviously a wasted slot in my eyes. I don't watch any CW shows at the moment, none have really held my interest (still trying to find the time to watch Supernatural from the start) but honestly, I have no desire to watch Reign just for the fact it seems very 'executive' (like quite alot of the CW shows) Carefully planned to appeal to the young girls. I just have a problem with how they are producing it.. the costumes and scripts from that era are pretty inaccurate and they are trying to cash in on GOT

.. but like I said happy for the fans and no hate but I would love to see another show in September because I need something new to watch. I'd be happy if they kept the 100 and Star Crossed as summer shows, killed Carrie and Beauty then had two brand new shows.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Do you have link for article ?

    ReplyDelete
  192. Possible I don't recall him saying 8. I would love some additional pick ups. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  193. I'm a Hod fan and I'm still in love with the show, I hope it get's at least Nikita treatment and a proper sent off. I started just today to watch BatB(just to see what the buzz about, especially at this site,) and it left me completely blank. I wan't drawn to the story at all. Kristin is doing a fine job, BUT that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  194. Do you find historical inaccuracies annoying, what a joke. Any one who thinks there going to get really history on tv or the cw for that matter are not going to find it. Tv shows for the most part are about content, fun, escape. Not really facts, how gross would it be to see Mary marry a sickly 10 year old boy. Very. It's goofy, dark and entertaining. You want facts, go read a book.
