Fox's Bones was just renewed for its 10th — and possibly final — season, and executive producer Hart Hanson already knows how he wants to wrap up the forensics drama. (He's had a plan since Season 4, he says, though he admits, "I haven't told anyone.") Leading up to the finale, Hanson is conceptualizing a special episode that would find Brennan and Booth (Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz) looking back on and evaluating their work together. "It would take place in a spooky world where all the victims they got justice for show up, perhaps as ghosts," Hanson says. "And a few bad [guys], too."
Topping the list, says Hanson, would be the show's first victim, missing Senate intern Cleo Eller; Lionel Little, the young coin collector from the first Christmas episode, who died in the 1950s; and Chelsea, the sick girl whose mother had AIDS and killed her in Season 2. "But," says Hanson, "I don't know what we'd do about the [Season 8] Neanderthal."

That sounds creepy. Why. Don't do that, Hart!
ReplyDeleteBut I definitely think season ten is it. That'll probably be announced at the summer TCAs.
say it isn't so I love this show
ReplyDeleteDidn't they already confirm that the 10th season would be the last at the recent winter TCA?
ReplyDeleteThey did say that, but when the show was officially renewed there was no mention of it being the final season.

Yeah, I'm totally
ReplyDeleteexpecting them to announce it at Upfronts, and to be honest, I'll be a little upset if they don't. I
know that may sound a little wired, but I would rather know from the get-go and have the entire summer to come to terms with it instead of
them pulling a 'House'. If they did that, I would still know in my
heart that it's the last one, but it would be nice for it to go out like
'HIMYM'.
I think it's ok to end a good show before dragging, specially since it's had so many seasons.
ReplyDeleteEh. Can't say this sounds like the best idea for how I'd like to see the show end. But then again, I came to the show several seasons in and really fell in love with the WHOLE cast, moreso than just being into Brennan-Booth. Don't get me wrong, I love them, too, but I really prefer the episodes where everyone is doing their own cool thing. This sounds like it would by necessity be pretty Bones-Booth-centric. Which is great for the B&B fans. But I sure hope the episode that precedes this one (as well as the season) takes the time to give the whole cast a great ride off into the sunset. (Plus, I hate high-concept endings to series. It just feels so pretentious and overblown. Give me something I can sink my teeth into!)
ReplyDeleteI think you have misunderstood the article. This ep would be during the lead up to the finale and not the finale itself :)
ReplyDeletehow bout they revisit that skeleton that was in a yoga position. id like to see them explain that scientifically.
ReplyDeleteI hope it won't end with Season 10. Bones is still my favorite show! But they need to give it a super good ending if they do make season 10 the last.
ReplyDeleteGenuinely curious, what did you read that I didn't? Because I took it as the series finale itself. Again, just genuinely curious.
ReplyDeleteNOOOO I don't want Bones to end!! It is an excellent show!
ReplyDeleteQuote from the article "Leading up to the finale, Hanson is conceptualizing a special episode that would find Brennan and Booth (Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz) looking back on and evaluating their work together."
ReplyDeleteSo the special ep is leading up to a finale he hasn't yet told anyone about.
Oh, okay. Thanks. :) My brain totally missed "Leading up to the finale...". Oops. My bad.
ReplyDeleteJust end it already!!! Sorry Im not a fan of the show
ReplyDeleteAre they ever going to do an episode that shows the first case they worked on together?
