Repercussions and consequences are the main theme that the show deals with this week, a few are welcome, one is risky and is only gonna piss off those who are supposed to be trusted partners, but mostly they are bad, and for one deputy in particular they are tragic. This episode feels very much like a continuation of Ways to Bury a Man as it elaborates further on many of elements that arose in it, and deals with their fallout.
Another thing that is throwing the businessman a curve ball is that the people that should be scared of him, and have been safely on his side of the battlefield for years before the sheriff showed up in town, are now starting to show their allegiance for the other team. Only one is actually brave enough to stand up to him face to face so far, but another one stays silent when they should shout out, and yet another has valuable information for Hood. Will he ever find out who are the ones that are defying him behind his back, and what will happen to them if Burton ever get his hands on them?
Max's illness seems to have shocked Gordon into realising what a dick he’s been the last few weeks. His self-pitying spiral of destruction is hopefully a thing of the past as he and Carrie make further inroads in patching up their relationship after she turns up at the house with the cash for the treatment their son needs and ends up staying for dinner. How she got that money is a bit of a sore point, though strangely enough not with Gordon, the one person you’d think would have a problem with stolen money.
So we come to the biggest ramification of last week’s actions. The junkyard beat down the deputies gave Sharp and his cronies comes back to bite the least deserving member of the Sherriff's department in typical Banshee fucked up style. I'm not going to say too much about this as I think it really is best seen played out unspoiled on screen. It’s pretty brutal in places and extremely harrowing for the characters involved, we see a very different side to Emmett Yawners and Demetrius Grosse turns in an exceptional performance as a desperate man seeking the ultimate revenge.
