Ok, ummm I only read a few of the Q&A's. (ugh sometimes idk how i do it but one more week to go i can hold on). Ok one, Ummm, of course as a Olicity shipper, i'm going to mention this. Sooo Oliver can have a sexual relationships with people as long as they can handle their own?? Seriously?? So he can have Felicity on his Team as his PARTNER, knowing all his deepest darkest secrets, and that's it?? She goes undercover, confronts his Mother (give her props for that), saves his life again and again, helps him redeem himself (no killing rule) and she gets nothing?? Maybe if Oliver actually started to train her some, THEN he could open up about his feelings. (Which he does have feelings for her, i'm not making this up). Which brings me to my next topic.
SOOOOOO happy Diggle will start Training Felicity more. I would love to see more of that. Actually i've been BEGGING to see more of that!! I think it'll be so hilarious, and cute. With Felicity throwing a punch. lol It's kinda like when Angel was training Cordelia, but in this sense it's a brother/sister relationship, which i love. I love Diggle and Felicity's bond. And I'm so glad Diggle will have more to do instead of just being the guy with wisdom for Oliver, having his arms folded in the background, rarely leaving the Arrow Cave. But I think he's story is about to expand greatly w/o training Felicity with the whole H.I.V.E. arc. Oh yes and Oliver training Roy. More and More is also great. And he'll listen more now that he realizes who the Arrow is. Everyone's training everyone, it's awesome.
Felicity and Sara. I'm glad they won't put the jealous attempt into the story. I don't see Felicity crying her eyes out b/c Ollie again decided to sleep with another woman. I could see her feeling a little hurt (ok more than a little hurt) but i think Felicity will just swallow it, and be all, well it's never gonna happen, let me just play the role i've been given. (Although we know that's not true i'm just talking Felicity's thoughts). I want to see Sara and Felicity become friends, but i think it'll take a while. Right now I think Felicity will feel a little out of the spotlight b/c up until now she's been the ONLY woman in the woman cave. So i can see why she goes after Clock King to prove herself more.
Moira and Felicity, I wish they would have more scenes together. B/c i absolutely loved their scene together. Very powerful chemistry there. Maybe they'll have more before the end of the season. I like that Moira might respect Felicity a little more, now that Felicity has stood up to her (which is usually how it goes) i just don't want Moira to OUT Felicity to Oliver. Which i hope she never does.
I am so glad they are not going the jealous over Oliver story line with Felicity. Thank God. Oliver/Sara because she can fend for herself is not a good explanation. It would have been better to say Oliver and Sara had left over feelings or something like that.
Extremely excited for suicide squad episode. I want the Lance sisters with Oliver drama over by the end of this season and all parties to accept and move on. Please don't drag this into next season. Roy and anger issues... great. I don't think I will be liking him anytime soon. I am glad Thea's time to shine is going to come. I hope they treat it better than how they treated Laurel going to the dark place.
I knew Sara and Felicity wouldn't have the jealousy spat simply because it isn't in Saras character to be jealous but why couldn't she of trained Felicity that would have been better
Yeah, that was exactly my thought, too....but who knows, perhaps it will happen. I just hope that they don't ruin Thea with whatever storyline they have planned for her.
Ha, wouldn't have it been great if, instead of trying to manipulate Felicity into lying to Oliver, Moira would've been like "Damn... you've got moxie, girl!". And proceeded to take her under her wing and teach her to be a badass HBIC. LOL.
Okay, seriously now, what I hope is that we get some interaction between Sara and Felicity that has nothing to do with Oliver. I would love it if Sara was actually the one who reassured Felicity about her place in the team, as an outsider who came to the Arrowcave and could see how important Felicity is/how much Oliver and Diggle respect her. Oliver already did the reassuring thing in 2x10.
Yeah, it grates how Sara's addition to the Arrow team is what suddenly makes Felicity feel insecure. She didn't have a problem with Roy. If she finds out Oliver and Sara slept together, obviously it's going to hurt because of her own feelings for Oliver, but as an adult, she's supposed to be able to put these things aside and keep a clear head. I still don't understand why Sara joining, in particular, makes Felicity feel useless and go on a reckless mission to prove herself. Outside of Oliver's stupid OOC attitude towards Felicity in 2x10 (you're distracted because of Barry, etc), I don't get the impression that Oliver or Diggle have ever made Felicity feel under-appreciated, or that Sara will.
It would have made more sense if Diggle felt insecure. After all with addition of Roy and Sara Diggle has not much to do.
I don't think Felicity will be too upset about Oliver sleeping with Sara. After the scientist I felt she has kind of accepted Oliver is not going to feel the same way for her and moved on. He is still the most important person in her life but not in a romantic sense.
I wouldn't call Felicity's mission reckless until I see the episode. I am not going to believe anything that these people except what Stephen Amell says and not even the episode summary they release. First it was the conclusion of 4 episode Laurel arc. Next it was the Lance family brothers and sisters type episode, then Felicity being jealous and insecure due to battle scar comparison and now she is upset because Sara infringes upon her hacking territory. I am sure none of this is as they say and the episode will be a smooth and fun one.
We don't know much about Sara's character to know if she will be jealous if Oliver shows interest in another person or not. But as of now she has no reason to mark her territory or to be jealous.
Can wednesday be here right now. I am tired of speculating about this episode. I need something new to discuss. Damn winter olympics and hiatus. I miss Arrow :(
Lmao that's hilarious. But idt that would happen since Felicity hates her with a passion. But that would be funny.
But the thing is Sara and Felicity's interaction already involves Oliver, that's the one thing they have in common, besides them being women. : / .....But i looked at the promo again, and it was Oliver on the motorcycle. Not Sara like we thought/hoped. I think they just split up and Sara found her first. And yeah Oliver has reassured her, BUT now there's another woman in the cave, and she is much better than Felicity when it comes to being out in the field with Ollie, so she does need more reassurance. I would love Sara to be the one that reassures Felicity, i could see it, then again, idk.
Press releases, scoops from the actors are such are often misleading, I agree. But I just can't see how Felicity going into the field on her own could NOT be a reckless plan. She just doesn't have the training and skills to do it. I'm not saying this to belittle her any, her skill set is crucial to the team and there have been many occasions where they would've been screwed without her, but she needs to be realistic about what she can and can't do.
But anyway, I'm sure the episode will be great, yeah. They just need to make sure that whatever they do with Felicity, it's not all about Oliver and longing/jealousy/whatever but her place within the team as a whole. Have I mentioned she needs to get more scenes with characters who aren't Oliver? LOL. Even when she confronted Moira in 2x13, it was ultimately about Oliver.
I'm glad they won't. Sara, see she has no reason to be jealous. I mean look at her. She's a badass, and Ollie has slept with her many times, and has fought with her side by side, on the island and off. Sara won't have ANY insecurities whatsoever. Felicity on the other hand, won't be jealous. BUT she will feel a little insecure. And i think/hope Sara will see that (women's intuition) and give Felicity a pep talk.
As for Sara training not training Felicity. I think it's the fact that, they aren't really that close, and Sara is still going through shit with Laurel and the LOA, so idt she's thinking oh oh let me train Felicity while i'm here, for however long i'm here. I think she's going to try and make amends with Laurel and her family before she goes away again. Diggle, has been sparing with Felicity already, and it's pretty clear he's not going anywhere, and they have a great bond, so i think Felicity is just comfortable with having her originally trainer, and not someone who will train her for a little bit, then has to go away.
Yes. We have discussed before how she need scenes and connection with other characters. About Felicity going to the field alone I'd like to see the circumstances for her to do such a thing.
I think writers have a plan with all this Oliver Felicity scenes and emotions they are showing. Maybe by the end of the season 2 something will happen and the trust they have in each other will be tested and they will be at odds with each other. Creators did say Oliver and Felicity will be at a different place by the end of the season.
It's so annoying because I actually enjoyed the interactions between Oliver and Felicity more last season. At least until the end of the season when they started hearing what shippers were saying and throwing them bones - that awful cringe-worthy "feels good to have you inside me" line, Oliver "romantically" carrying Felicity in his arms in that elevator shaft when they infiltrated Merlyn Industries or whatever it was called.... oh, and in the season premiere we had Oliver land on top of Felicity (or vice-versa, can't remember) after he saved her from that landmine. All those scenes of longing stares and almost-kisses. Barry realizing he can't have Felicity because she's pining for Oliver. Moira's "I see the way you look at him", Oliver telling Felicity "You're not gonna lose me" when she's upset because of the secret... It's just so blatant and in-your-face. I wouldn't mind them becoming a couple because I don't think the idea is that bad in and of itself, but the way it's being done has all of the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the brain.
It was actually Felicity who said "How many girls were you marooned with?" after Oliver mentioned that Shado was on the island with him as well as Sara. Ugh. Of course the very existence of other women on the island is a reason for romantic jealousy. For all she knew when Oliver said that, Shado could've been married or something.
I long for the day when TV starts to view female characters as people first and love interests second, hence the first reaction of viewers (and other women) to a female character NOT being "Does the guy I like/ship with someone else like her? Yes? OMG, SLUT! I HATE HER!". Okay, of course that's an exaggeration, Felicity didn't say anything like that about Shado. I just mean that Oliver simply mentioning another female castaway shouldn't immediately send Felicity into jealousy mode, especially considering that she didn't know Oliver and Shado were together for a while. The writers are prioritizing fan-pandering (shipper-pandering to be exact) over writing women in a mature way.
I didn't find that scene as fan pandering. Because most of the fans hated that dialogue and the time when she said it. I found it as another instance where writer tried to shoe horn witty dialogue for Felicity.
I agree it's been too long, except that I'm enjoying the Olympics. People who get hurt, cough up blood, and then get up to fight again, who give up their place for someone else who has a better chance of winning, who give equipment to the other side when theirs break so the chances are fairer.... it's like watching the heroes of Arrow but in real life.
Diggle is Oliver's mentor and Voice of Reason in the Arrow Cave. Roy and Sara are such hot heads, they make Oliver look reasonable. There is no one else Oliver can turn to for advice, certainly not Moira and not Walter now that he's doing her dirty work for her.
I am more of a summer olympics girl. I am from India so not much exposure to snow related sports. Love to watch figure skating though. I am just tired of thinking different scenarios for this upcoming episode. I just want it to air now.
Of course Diggle needs to stay. I will throw a tantrum if they kill off Dig. Dig's my man. I was just being sarcastic. Lately they are not giving him much action on the field. Now with addition of Sara and Roy Dig's chances of flexing his muscles are even less.
I'm excited for the Suicide Squad storyline, though. A teaser picture of the Squad has been posted today and it's looking good. Don't know why Diggle becomes part of it, but it's finally going to get him out of the Arrowcave and give him something to do, I assume. 2x16 is Diggle-centric and will include flashbacks to his tour in Afghanistan as well.
I saw that pic. I am excited for SS episode. Diggle deserves a massive episode all for himself. Even though Russia episode was all about him it still revolved around Oliver too. But I am scared if SS is well liked by audience they will plan a spin off next year and will take Diggle with them. Oliver without Dig is unimaginable. Bummed clock king didn't join SS :( Using Knepper for only one episode is equal to a crime.
I think they could still add characters to the SS in the future if it proves popular. Right now it only includes villains we already know: Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Shrapnel... perhaps others like Clock King will be added if they work well.
I'm holding out hope that CK isn't killed off in this episode, too, because Felicity having her own arch-enemy could be so very fun.
Side note: I'm not a comic reader and I actually keep saying it's unnecessary for Arrow to follow DC canon to a T. But it *is* kind of funny how Waller, who I'm told is a large woman in the comics, looks Laurel-levels of thin. Her legs could be mistaken for twigs in that picture which is a bit eerie.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
- I'm a little disappointed there won't be an adversarial follow-up to the Felicity/Moira confrontation.

ReplyDeleteStop reading my mind lol
