Coulson and his team have entered the second half of their first season, and with their story hurtling forward the series' creators have their eye on the endgame.
Executive Producers Jeph Loeb and Jeffrey Bell, two of the architects behind the ABC hit series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." recently granted security clearance to Marvel.com to discuss the mechanics behind their development process, insight into fan reaction, and Mike Peterson's transformation into Deathlok.
"We knew [the last scene of the season] at the beginning," assures Bell of how keen the producers' vision of the series is. In their development process, Loeb and Bell retain specific "tent poles" of scenes and key moments they plan to utilize within the course of the season, but they also leave room to surprise themselves.
"[The development process] should be surprising for us as well," says Bell. "If you can see where it's going all the way in the pre-planning, it won't be [nearly] as exciting."

they just talked about guest stars :(
ReplyDeleteI doubt anything is going to happen to her. She and Coulson are the safest; Coulson because he's tied in to the movies and Skye because the producers love her more than any other character on the show.
ReplyDeleteCoulson probably won't appear in any future Marvel Films unless Joss wants him back on the show lol
ReplyDeleteYou say they love Skye like it's a bad thing...do you not like her character? I like all of them and don't mind that this season they seem to focus on Skye and Coulson a lot. The others will get their turn.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious if they will be adding references to stuff that will be in the Winter Soldier movie as that appears to be very SHIELD-centric....
ReplyDeleteIf it's all in the same universe, and it looks like it is since they keep referencing Thor and the Lady Sif is coming to the TV show, then there's no reason Coulson wouldn't be in future movies.
ReplyDeleteThat maybe. But as the avengers know Coulson died and only fury.carter knows he's alive unless Joss planned his return months in advance i dnt see coulson coming back
ReplyDeleteIf the others get their turn later on the show, then I'll feel better about it. But I've seen too many shows ruined because the show runners fell in love with one character and made the others less to make their special one more. Skye already is more special than anyone else because she's an 0-8-4, we've met people from her background, and she has a backstory more complex than anyone else other than Coulson has. It's also because all of this is because of who she is, rather than what she does, whereas the others are more about what they do (May and Ward are ninja, Fit and Simmons are smart and science).
ReplyDeleteBasically, I'm saying that since they've put so much effort into the character, I doubt anything will happen to her so it's not really much of a cliff-hanger..
