Visually it's very interesting, but TBH it didn't give me the "feel" of the show, especially not with this music. Luckily the first season was so good, that I'll be watching the second, no matter of the promos.
But the music is the best part! So apparently Ragnar is slipping of his course, Floki is calculated chaos (oh well, what else is new), Lagherta is breaking stuff just to hear them break (we all knew that he would be pissed, right?), Athelstan is now in the ring and coming for blood (well, I guess he will loose his innocence, soon,,,and apparently EVERYTHING is coming to a heat)...it's like it was made for the show, especially the "glory and gore go hand in hand, that's why we're making headlines".
Yes he does! Maybe that's Ecbert, King of Wessex? I know Athelstan is going to have scenes with him. I really hope that's some kind of weird symbolism for something and not him actually losing a hand.
Or it is the fate he has to avoid....they better leave Athelstan in one piece. He isn't a historical figure, there would be no excuse to maim his body after they already maimed his soul....
*snort* Oh yeah, they can definitely give him a haircut if they like, but that's all I'm willing for them to cut. I hope they have a good storyline for him this season, last season it started out interesting and then suddenly they jumped ahead, he was all adjusted, they were going to sacrifice him and that was it for his character.
Yeah, much as I loved the show till about episode 6, the last 3 episodes were a bit of a mess. I really wish we'd see more of Athelstan's character development in S1 as he adjusted to life there and let go of his faith (until he found it again) and I really wish they'd have shown some fall-out from Ragnar almost sacrificing him. I assume he's not a virgin, but i guess that scene where he's drugged was a bit ambiguous, I figured he slept with her, even if he wasn't exactly in his right mind to consent or remembers much of it.
Yes, but if he did, it should be a big deal for him. He is a monk, after all. I hope that they might address this in the season finale. Better late than never.
I agree with you, it SHOULD be a big deal and be addressed, if indeed he's no longer a virgin. I guess we have to wait for S2 to start and see where they take Athelstan.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Awwwwwwesome!
ReplyDeleteLove how Lagherta chucks away her tablet in order to pick up the sword...go girl!

ReplyDeleteLove Lagertha! Awesome promo.

ReplyDeleteGood promo. Shame they didn't show his son, especially with the recasting.
ReplyDeleteYou're right...I really hope that this is only symbolic....
ReplyDeleteWait a moment...has the guy with the crown (who is that btw?) Athelstan's hand in his hand????

ReplyDeleteAgreed, leave my poor, confused Monk in one piece!
ReplyDeleteI they want to cut something, they should start with his hair.....

ReplyDeleteAgreed...I am not even sure if he is still a virgin or not (or why Ragnar even did this), and they never dealt with the fall-out from this.

ReplyDeleteIs Athelstan missing his hand in that promo?! I liked Lagertha picking up a sword like a badass, can't wait for S2.
