Wwll, Floki is definitely not killed off in episode 1 then, thank God. Looks like Rollo and Siggy are together (I kinda like them together- he definitely needs her if he wants to get ahead and be in power). Is Athelstan fighting in episode 2? Not sure how I feel about that.
I think around episode 6, when they started jumping ahead in time, they neglected Athelstan's character development and he was suddenly too well adjusted and immersed in the culture (even if he found his Christianity again when he was going to get sacrificed) so seeing him in episode 2 in battle means that once again they're skipping character development, which I'm not happy about.
that's my favourite picture of the bunch. it is great that they give Athelstan a storyline of his own, and he doesn't really look happy in the shield wall. I don't think, that he actually fights, to me it looks like he is mostly there for protection. I agree, they skipped some character development for Athelstan last season, but I still have the hope that they will address some of this in the future.
Yeah, the first 6 were so great, then a certain character died and it's like I was watching a completely different, somewhat baffling show. But a lot of shows don't have a perfect first season, especially when they're the network's first scripted show- so I'm hoping S2 is more even and has a great season from start to finish.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of awesome we're seeing Athelstan getting battle action that early on. I wasn't expecting it at all!
ReplyDeleteThe third episode looks the most intriguing to me, all of the rest look kind of boring, despite episode one's abundance of photos.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank God, gods and scriptripters, Floki lives.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you
ReplyDelete@Reyno Our pleasure, glad you enjoyed them

You are not the only one. The first episodes were so tightly written and then they suddenly started to make this big leaps.
