Lost is the only show among those I watched, but John Locke was a fascinating and complex character thanks largely to Terry O'Quinn's brilliance (although he was actually only in a wheelchair in flashbacks and the sideways). I On a somewhat related note, I loved it whrn Nikita gave the character of Michael a different disability (losing a limb), but hated it with a passion when they chickened the hell out and reversed that. So freaking ableist. They had a powerful storyline that actually took the character somewhere but then decided that a disabled Michael was apparently a horrible fate that would destroy his "happily ever after" with Nikita or something. Ugh.
My favorite is John Locke but he wasn't in a wheelchair for a long time, except in the flashbacks. So he's out of my list. I also loved Logan and his complicated relationship with Max. The character I find the most interesting though is Ironside in the show that got canceled last fall. I would have liked to learn more about his story.
Went with Locke, but Tio Salamanca gets an honorable mention. That guy couldn't walk, couldn't talk, but could cause a whole lot of trouble with his little bell.
Ha! Funny question. Locke without any doubt. I think John Locke is one of the most interesting characters in the history of TV. Tio Salamanca was fun too.
Locke wasn't for very long, but he was definitely interesting, but Tio took the prize for me. He couldn't talk so his furious looks and gestures, and bell dinging had to do all the acting for him and he was so frenzied at times. He did a fabulous job with very limited ways to communicate.
I'm glad you like it. Personal I'm not a fan of very generic polls that can have countless answers and that's why I decided to narrow the subject as much as possible. :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Professor Charles Xavier (Comics)
ReplyDeleteIn the poll I choose Logan Cale.

ReplyDeleteAcceptable to whom?--you might think twice if you saw Tio in Breaking Bad. The guy did an amazing job without saying a word!
ReplyDeleteI understood that the poll was just for TV shows.
ReplyDeleteStill wanted to add some from movies but put the TV show one first. :)
