I'm surprised we got these before the ones for The Originals (considering TO starts up a week earlier). I was hoping that the promo pictures wouldn't just be everyone sitting around though in the Salvatore House because that's all the promo really consisted of.
I don't. It's all too rare when the group can get together and just enjoy each other's company (for the most part) instead of plotting something or defending themselves from a threat. Besides, Katherine either murdered or tried to murder almost everyone in that room. I like Katherine as a character because she's very entertaining but I never forget how much of a repugnant person she is. So, if the gang wants to throw a "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out" party, I'm cool with it.
Nadia is slowly starting to grow on me. So far, her portrayer (Olga Fonda) seems a bit limited in her acting skills but I haven't seen all that much of her so I could be mistaken. Anyway, regardless of the level of skill at play, I do enjoy the character so far.
Hey, I'm not jumping on you for your opinion. I'm simply stating my own. I get that it's pretty damn morbid (and in poor taste, tbh) to celebrate an impending death, especially when that person is in the house at the time. However, considering Katherine's past actions, I'm trying not to judge them too harshly.
As far as your Damon parallel, the difference between the two is that, unlike Katherine, Damon has also done some great things for everyone in that room he's previously tried to harm.
I went from loving this show, to getting cranky if I missed it, to recording episodes and going out instead, to not bothering to watch or keeping in touch. Paul and Caroline were my only draw to TVD.....now I cant even raise an eyebrow at the pictures. I out of this romantic soap opera mess and on to were the story is on TO.
Damon has just about killed or tried to kill everyone as well. Damon has killed Jeremy, Damon has tried to kill Katherine, Bonnie & Caroline and back at the beginning of Season 1 he was cool with Elena being killed. The difference is Katherine did what she did what she did for a reason - Damon did it just for the hell of it. Katherine turned Caroline into a vampire in order to hand her over to Klaus, she handed Jeremy to Silas in order to get the cure, etc..
if you're so disinterested, why are you writing a hate comment about it and why are you checking out the pics as well is unclear!! move on and let us enjoy the show who are still interested in it..i think that would be fair, don't u think?
You think my comment was "hate"...you must have led a sheltered life. Here some advice, ignore comments you don't like and don't spread the "hate" I have been waiting like the rest for promotional pictures for the coming episode, I was merely saying much its changed for me. I'm happy you enjoy it, but its not the same for me anymore. I was under the impression this was a public board and as long as your not being vile, you can comment on the show.
"Katherine saved Jeremy's life earlier this season (and she saved his life on the island when she killed the guy who tried to kill Jeremy)." Katherine got Jeremy into a car wreck that damn near killed him wherein his life was saved by Damon. Back on the island, Katherine kept Jeremy alive because she needed him to get to the cure and as soon as she had it Katherine fed him to Silas and murdered him.
"she saved Damon from Klaus" She dropped off a vial of blood on her way out of town. Claiming she saved him is an overstatement.
"she helped Caroline interrogate Wes." Because Caroline was letting her crash in her dorm room. That was a transaction, not a selfless act of any kind.
"She also helped out Matt with his possession problem" She has a thing for Matt and in her own perverse way she was looking out for Nadia. So, I suppose I'll give you credit for this one.
I met with the Mikael situation. If Klaus had died his vampire bloodline would have gone too killing her, Damon, Stefan, etc... so she and Stefan screwed up the plan because they knew that Damon would die with Klaus.
FLASHBACKS TO KATHERINE’S EARLY LIFE — As she faces a new crisis, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) remembers the traumatic night in 1490 when she gave birth to the daughter who was immediately taken from her. Stefan (Paul Wesley) lets Elena, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) know that Katherine’s health has taken a turn for the worse, while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) Matt (Zach Roerig) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) discuss some of Katherine’s most notorious moments. Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) comes up with a frightening plan to protect her mother, and Stefan and Elena are forced to help her. Meanwhile, Caroline is mortified when she realizes she forgot to fill Elena in on the latest shocking gossip, then indulges in a little scandalous behavior of her own. Finally, Elena and Katherine share an unexpected moment of connection.
With Katherine dying, is it the end of the doppelganger story. I got the impression when Silas/Qetsiyah/Amara passed over that it wasn't really over. Now that the very first have passed over/are dead, does this mean nature/fate/destiny [whatever] is going to stop making copies?
For the dopplelganger/fate storyline, according to Caroline Dries, we'll come back to it towards the end of the season so it's not over yet... It's just been put aside for now.
With Stefan/Damon being Silas's descendants and that tiny mention of their mother, I had hoped we will get to see the brothers flashback as children...Still holding out hope,
of course you can,but your way of saying was a bit harsh to me,that's all!! and one friendly suggestion-don't go guessing about my life by reading a comment on a comments section.guess i have to ignore these type of comments from now on coz this conversation is not productive at all.I have my opinion, you have yours-i have to respect that.
Hahaha Damon's all here Stefan join us, enjoy our bond over Katherine's death. I swear i haven't seen the entire group smile like this in a long time. I think if they're going to kill Katherine, i'd really want her to have a proper send off with Nadia. I want all of Katherine's true feelings to come out to Nadia, and have them bond one last time. And am i the only one that still has to get used to Bonnie's haircut?? It's not a bad cut, it looks good on her, but i still feel like i need to get use to it.
Underneath the first picture, Nina Dobrev is listed as playing Katherine, but she's wearing Elena's dress. Damon looks very confused. Either Elena is going to get a new human body or she's going to be put in Katherine's body because she can still live in the world without dying rapidly of old age. I hope it's the former. I would like to see the blonde Elena from the books, but it seems like the writers/producers are determined not to do that. I'm not sure why. I don't get why anyone would put Elena in a body carrying the cure anyway. A blonde Elena would open doors for different possible relationships and love triangles. I don't believe that the Klaus crossover will happen in this episode like so many online articles are claiming, but it's possible that what happens in this episode will draw him out later. If Elena became human again, she would be less inclined to put up with Damon's darkness and she would be able to have children if she wanted. If a character dies sometime early this year and it isn't Katherine, it will probably be Tyler.
It wouldn't shock me if someone Katherine ends up traveling in Elena's body. LOL. I don't really like that. It is time for closure to that story arc. From what I remember reading, Vampire Diaires has 1 season left, right? But it would not surprise me if the writers do something like that. What do ya'll think?
I would love that. I've missed the brotherly interaction this season. It's not that I want it to take over, but I could use a little more of it than they've been giving us.
She was just stating her opinion of the current state of the show, in regard to *her* journey with it. She didn't call names, she didn't say everyone else felt the way she did, nor had to agree with her. And she definitely didn't say everyone else had to stop enjoying the show.
It is possible to maintain an interest in a show that is disappointing you out of hope that it may recover the quality and enjoyment it once gave you. I maintain interest in a few shows that have disappointed me lately at least as much as they've pleased me, and as fans we have the right to express those opinions (respectfully). Viewers are not required to be uniform yes-men. And not every comment has to be positive to not be considered hate.
Perhaps next time another's opinion affects you this way, instead of personally attacking them and telling them to go away because you don't like their viewpoint, consider just stating what you do like about the show, and what about it is really keeping your interest. To me, that's what makes a discussion a discussion, and often spearheads interesting debates.
The alternative can come across kind of reactive and immature, and that doesn't help anything.
I get what you mean. I'm still enjoying the show, though I have to admit it has never been must-see TV for me. I am missing some of the aspects they had better developed in earlier seasons... like the brotherly interaction, etc. And the human and adult (for want of a better word) sensibility that Alaric brought to it. But that's just me.
No problem. I had no intention of exacerbating a touchy exchange, but I weary of people being told to go away when their view may not match someone else's, especially when no offense was intended. Besides, in the Vampire Diaries forums, there a lot of dissenting opinions, many of which have been much more strongly stated than your opinion was. Par for the course.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
No synopsis ?
ReplyDeleteWhile I think it's completely justified that they would be celebrating Katherine's impending death, I still want to hit them. :P

ReplyDeleteSince Katherine is also linked to his bloodline, that was an act of self-preservation. That is something Katherine has always been good at.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't know that at the time though. They thought only Damon's life was in danger so Katherine had no idea she was saving herself as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's out:
