So, as the 2013-2014 TV season begins to kick into gear after the winter hiatus, we have found the episode that can lay claim to being SpoilerTV's Favourite Episode of 2013. Many of you will have seen on the final's post, but the winner comes from...
That's right, the winner comes from Beauty and the Beast, with its episode 'Kidnapped'. The final consisted of 6,969 votes (which is just an epic number in itself), so thank you to all who voted and made the final very exciting. It was a tight final, with the CW show only beating Castle's 'Still' by 113 votes. Both shows have huge fanbases on the Internet, and in particular on SpoilerTV. Many will say that this final didn't represent the two best episodes on TV in 2013, but this competition is all about finding the favourite episode. In that respect, this was a great final. I can't discredit the fans of either of these shows, who are undeniably devoted to that which they love.
An additional thank you to those who voted, whether you only voted in one poll, all of them, or anywhere in between. All votes were important and much appreciated. This competition wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as it has been without all of you voting and sharing the polls.

We the fans of BATB (beasties) are working our a... off to win polls etc. mainly because many people are not giving the show a try because one thing or another and as of right now the show doesnt have the ratings it should have on live tv. But the show has a lot of following around the world and its no only female. Show improved a lot. Give it a try we need ratings for the show when it comes back to go on a 3rd season. So as long as the show is on tv we will keep roaringgggg the internet. Congratulations Beasties dont ever give up!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteeven if it won the Emmy (or any other show from that genre), and I got bored
from watching Castle five seasons ago. So I am not a fan of either of the shows, which were represented in the final (and therefore, I didn't watch those
episodes). That being said, I have allot of respect for the Beauty and the
Beast's fans, and think all of us, who are devoted enough to their TV shows to
comment about them on the internet, must be impressed by their achievement. I personally
think that Ozymandias is not only
the best episode of 2013, but the best episode of the decade! So congratulations
to the Beauty and the Beast fans and thanks to Bradley Adams for organizing this
competition.
Congrats Beasties another poll is ours. If you have not watched beauty and the beast give it a go, it is being unfairly treated at the moment and could use all the support we could give it. It is an excellent show with great cast and crew.

Im open to all kind of genres I watch shows from GOT, TWD, VIkings, Masters of Sex. shameless, BATB to Downton Abbey etc. but I dont like detective shows they are just boring for me. Thanks for your honest opinion and really appreciate you being respectull rather than put us down for whatever reason.

ReplyDeleteTo be fair, considering the vast amount of criticism it got on this site, I was surprised it even got into the competition in the first place. Obviously, there are more lurker fans of the episode than commenting haters of it.

This was a popularity (voting) competition and the show happens to have lots of internet following for some reason and thats why is winning awards or polls. And dont mind us or BATB There is plenty of shows out there without stereotypes that you can watch or give your opinion about just don put other people's shows down just because you dont happen to like it. :) .

ReplyDeleteregardless of how you feel about the show personally and regardless of how poorly rated the show is the fact is that the show won this poll because its fans voted for it. There was nothing stopping the fans of other shows coming here to vote for their own shows. So congratulations Beauty and the Beast this wont save you show from cancellation at the end of this season (since it is defacto cancelled already) but you voted the most so you won fair and square. Enjoy your show while it lasts (that goes for all fans of all shows).
ReplyDeletein all fairness the show had a very good sampling for its pilot and had the fans who watched season 1 stuck around for season 2 then it would probably be considered safe. The problem doesnt seem to be blind hate (though I have seen some of that) but the fact that the show just hasnt been able to keep hold of an adequate viewership, fault of the show and no one elses.
ReplyDeleteno offence but this show will not be coming back for a third season unless its ratings vastly improve now, so encourage people to watch to get the ratings up in order to get a third season not for when a very unlikely (atm) season 3 starts.

I'm a BEASTIE and I really do love our show but I also have to acknowledge and salute all of the fans for their commitment. Beasties are passionate and they have a never ending love for their show, but we are also very respectful of all other FANDOMS.
ReplyDeleteWe realize that many do not understand our addiction to BATB all I can say is that it comes from a deep rooted appreciation for all the hard work our CAST, CREW, WRITERS, PRODUCERS, DIRECTORS, ..etc that have worked so hard to develop this gem of a show.
So to all BEASTIES CONGRATS, to all other FANDOMS I truly do appreciate all of you!
I do hope that you will succeed in your efforts to keep the show alive.
ReplyDeleteI think it is petty that the networks doesn't rewarded more shows with a loyal fan
base (even if it is relatively small one), because they can use those shows as
fillers in mid-season or in Friday (and the fan base will follow it); or at
least give the fans a proper ending (like the CW did with Nikita). I believe
that in the long run, the networks will only benefit from it, since those loyal
fan bases will be more willing to give that network's new shows more chances.
You always hitting the note on us beasties, if we win polls in order to encourage people to watch the show for a chance of a third season its our prerogative, what does it do to you? I dont get what is the purpose of some "people" to comment on shows that they dont like personally I think is bullying, and if Im not mistaken you are contributor to this site and as such you should stick your comments to the shows that you like, it is just my humble opinion, you can care less what we beasties do with our time or the intentions of us winning polls. Thanks for your 2 cents of negativity you did your share this afternoon. Bradley and all other posters that dont like the show but give positive comments, I really appreciate despite you not being a fan of the show show respect for our dedication :)

ReplyDeleteClaudia, as a fellow beastie, I can tell you that. Responding aggressively to comments won't take our show anywhere. If you don't like what people say, reply to them in a way that will earn their respect. Respect is something that our show is really needing right now.
ReplyDeleteI can respect that you feel that BatB shouldn't win, Patrick, but I can't respect you for saying that BatB is CW's stereotype. Yes, S2 is bordering some things that are downgrading it, but that's not the core of the show. If you think like that, you obviously only watch 1 or 2 episodes, not the whole story. If you watch everything, it makes me wonder why you would put yourself under the torture of watching something you so obviously hate.

ReplyDeletejust like to point out, the only reason heroes came back for a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th season is because of the fans, and the DVD sales are what payed for the extra seasons and boy did they suck. Same thing with chuck, although i actually liked all seasons of that show. Both shows got canceled anyway, and while i was a "beasty" in season 1, season 2 just keeps getting worse and worse, and ill no longer be watching the show.

ReplyDeleteDon't like either of the final two shows but credit where it's due. If and when BATB is cancelled, at least its fans can always remember this victory. It's just not for me though.
BTW, there is an example of popular in social media show - everybody is using SPN gifs having probably no idea where it came from. LOL

ReplyDeleteTrue I don't watch every episode but I watched more than two episodes, and I watch it to see if it got any better.
ReplyDeleteThen, I have to say that I'm sorry you feel that way and that I get it. S2 isn't really doing justice to the show's potential. I think the show runners realized that what makes people see it is exactly because it wasn't like most shows on the network and they're trying to adjust it. I hope it does get better and maybe will be able to make you not hate it some time in the future.

Ive been an active beastie since the beginning and unfortunately we have been bullied since day 1 for one reason or another. This was a victory for us beasties and In anyways Ive been disrespectul to the poster above,I just clarify my points on why the show won this award, it just make no sense for people to post on a show they actually dont watch or dont like, and just leaving negative comments about something positive about the show.

For now though ill just keep up with the recaps. im not downing the show, im just saying certain storylines this season annoyed me. like the "kill the beast and make it human" thing. Gabe doesnt deserve to be human after basically robbing Vincent of whatever chance he had to be human again, and on top of that, he's flirting with cat when she is on the rebound.
