"What's Jane's type?" this looks like the question in everyone's mind during the episode. I admit "White Lines" was not as good as the previous ones, but it still was enjoyable. The Mentalist 2.0 started in a good way. Here's some things to say:
Jane's date. Most of us all know Jane had a plan from the beginning when he met Krystal. No doubt she's a beautiful woman and Jane has good tastes, but maybe I found it was too easy to ask her out on a date, unless he was up to something. Still I think Krystal absolutely isn't Jane's type, but I do think he's in a way too attracted to criminals - just think about Erica Flynn and Lorelei Martins. Fisher was smart to understand Krystal was not the kind of woman Jane would have dated. Even though he seemed so interested in her. At some point, I really doubted Jane had completely lost his mind with her, and I was wondering if Lisbon would have find out who she really was first. That would have been amazing! I liked the part of the date in which Jane says to Krystal that everyone at some point should move on with his\her own life. In my opinion, the moment when Jane killed Red John, he felt ready to move on and change his life. He's ready, but he's just too blind to realize that.
Jane and Lisbon. Not much interaction between those two, but however, there's something to say. I haven't noticed Lisbon's jealousy when Jane asks advices for his date. Lisbon knows Jane is playing because he always does that. She's always his number one partner, the only one he chooses to trust when he's in danger on Krystal's boat. A little note: Jane's wearing the socks Lisbon's given to him.
Jane and Fisher. I have to say: Jane knows how to control people and his superiors. We noticed that with Abbott and we're noticing this with Fisher. He asked her a couch, "Something I can snuggle in". Fisher wanted to stay strict and play the bad guy, but she eventually agreed to give him what he wanted.
Honorable mention: Cho and Wiley. How much I love this blonde nerdy guy? It seems like he took (I know, it sounds awful and sad to say) perfectly Van Pelt and Rigsby's place. He's the pairing for Cho and it's even good at computers. What else? Hoping for more space.
In conclusion, it was a good episode that showed some new bonds, friendship and changes for some characters. Probably what people didn't like was the lack of Jane and Lisbon's scenes together. Let me say one last thing: it's not the end of the world. Don't forget next episode we'll find a new side of J\L's relationship, and then it's just a growing path for their future.
