Sorry guys, but the baby came over to visit today, so I didn't have time to finish part 2 of the Teen Wolf episode awards. Therefore in keeping with my attempt to have new Teen Wolf material each day, here are a few polls and nominations to ward off the impending blizzard (for those of us in the Midwest). I will post the results tomorrow along with the awards article. Enjoy and hit the comments to tell us your choices. Oh and because I am channeling my inner monster, you can only vote for one per poll. (Insert evil laugh here.)

My favorite character varies but right now I am going with Stiles. Character that needs a better plot is a tie between Lydia and Derek, but since there's only one vote I'm giving it to Lydia. Favorite season is hands down season 2. I'm not a fan of dead characters returning/being resurrected and I love Colton Haynes on Arrow, so I'm going with Greenberg - although he makes a great unseen character. My second choice would be Mystery Motorcycle Chick because surely they did not bring on such an awesome character only to kill her in the pilot. My wish list has already been posted so I'll abstain in teh first nomination. For the second, I would like to see some unusual monsters, no vampires or zombies as they are way overplayed. Something more like early Supernatural. The last nomination is completely up to you. Since I will be doing the Best Scene polls for each episode in 3B, sometimes I sneak in bonus polls for fun. Let me know what you want to see.

I picked 3A because in some ways I think the over all story was better crafted. 4) Cora Hale. Mostly cause she's, you know, alive. Otherwise I would have picked Awesome Motorcycle Chick.
My sumbission answers (a) Lydia following up on her edict to use her gift to save people (b) shapeshifter (c) the per episode best scene polls
1. Stiles (Coach is probably a close second) 2. Lydia 3. 3A - it is freshest in my mind, but I need to rewatch the series. I thought season 2 was better than season 1 - they started to give really minor characters like Coach and Danny big personalities. This is one of my favorite things about Teen Wolf. 4. Jackson - I really like the actor. He is doing great on Arrow, but I miss him here.
5. Want most in season 3B? If this little town turns into a Hellmouth, I want normal townspeople to notice that things are off. They don't have to know that it is supernatural - they can think its gangs for all I care, but just realize they aren't as save as before. One of my biggest problems with Buffy (love the show), it was a fairly tiny town and no one noticed demons or strange occurrences happening after dark? They seem to repeat this flaw in other types of supernatural shows. I also want them to keep interacting with the parents. 6. If it is a Hellmouth, I would like a variety of monsters to come crawling out of the woodwork as opposed to just sticking with one or two types. I would also like to see their take on demons and ghosts. 7. Best line poll (they have some awesome lines), maybe a scariest/creepiest moment poll if it is as creepy as the promos.
I don't disagree with that to be honest; It's a great running gag. I pretty much chose Greenberg because I don't want any of these characters returning. "What's dead should stay dead."
I adore Coach. He brings the funny right when we need it. I agree that developing the second tier characters was a great way to go in season 2 and 3. It brings more to the story and makes it easier to attach to those characters. I am good for a Jackson cameo, but I prefer him in Arrow so maybe just a quick stop in at a graduation party or something. He should definitely cameo in the final season though. I am a big fan of older characters coming back to celebrate their shows.
For me it depends on how they do the townspeople reveal. I'm not a fan of everyone suddenly knowing about the supernatural but I do agree that they must know something weird is happening and react accordingly. I never did understand why anyone would move to Sunnydale. Certainly murder rates are something to check out when buying a home.
I adore quotes so I probably will do some best line bonus polls. I am thinking about maybe doing one for just Peter to be honest. He is a riot. Love the scary idea as well.
I am torn about Deaton. I want him to finally start acting like an emissary, but it is going to irk me to no end that he will be willing to work with Scott but did zip for Derek.
I am disappointed that he didn't help Derek too. I can understand from season 1 - not being sure who the killer was and if/how Derek was involved. In season 2, I think he really should have stepped up to the plate. To be fair, while he has helped Scott, Deaton really done a lot. He also seems to be estranged from his sister - so I pretend that his background is that he left the life and only sometimes helps Scott because he thinks of him as a friend/family.
1. Peter Hale!! But I also love Isaac 2. Also Peter Hale and second Isaac! Oh and the Sherrif! 3. Season 2 of course! 4. I choose Jackson. But I also want Erica back. Loved her character.
I can't say that I agree with you about Jackson returning. But I do think season 2 could have been even that much better if they'd let Jackson explore his questions about his birth parents. He had such an interesting base...an adopted child who couldn't say "I love you" to his adoptive parents; who was unsure about his identity because he knew nothing about his birth parents. Instead of giving us scenes with Jackson that revealed who he was (and showed him growing/changing ) we just got scenes where Scott, Stiles, or Allison TOLD us all this information. I was frustrated.
I thought Colton Haynes was a horrible actor for most of his tenure on Teen Wolf; he spent most of the time bellowing his dialog and bugging his eyes out. Then he shows up on Arrow and he can act. That just left me feeling more disappointed about the missed opportunity.
My suspicion is that they're moving Deaton into more of a Giles roll in season 3B. I'm making that leap (or basing that hope) on Stiles dressing him down for holding back while people die during 3A.

I don't want to see Greenberg. It'd kill a great runner. We shouldn't see Greenberg until the series finale. IMHO

ReplyDeleteI really want Lydia to be able to save people as well. The whole banshee thing is a wash for me if it doesn't make her proactive.
