Another Teen Wolf article as promised. This was supposed to be the last of the episode award articles, but it was far too long. So today we have the rest of the episode specific awards and tomorrow, the overall ones for the last 6 episodes of 3A. Sorry to turn this originally one article into 3 parts, but it kept getting longer and longer. Monday's Teen Wolf article will cover the overall awards for these same episodes.
ReplyDelete:-) I'm struggling to avoid the cliched comment of 'tell us how you really feel' or 'you shouldn't repress your annoyance' for Visionary.
ReplyDeleteReading this set of award comments did remind me of my biggest annoyance for season 3A. All these baby werewolves merrily jumping into fights with Alpha wolves and thinking they could win. That made me nuts. And they kept going back for more. I mean, yes, teenagers are not known for being geniuses, but this was just irksome.
Oh come now. Except for the grade and reasons to fast forward, I was very, very kind to this episode. I have almost 30 awards I could have chosen for it and I focused mostly on positive ones. As for baby werewolves who never win, that's the reason why Cora is my least favorite character. She keeps leaping at these Alphas and making every single thing worse. While Kali made my hit list from her entrance, Cora was only a few episodes behind her. My biggest alpha pet peeve though is how Derek couldn't go more than 30 seconds with any of them. I know he didn't kill off all his pack and siphon off their powers but man, can't a guy catch a break in 12 episodes.
ReplyDeleteYes, They did make Derek a little wussy.
ReplyDeleteLOL...It was the reasons to fast forward that had me chuckling.
These have been kind of fun. I realized that I haven't finished re-watching 3A yet.
Ha! Visionary is the first episode of Teen Wolf that actually bored me. It had never done so before but I swear I play more Free Cell in my rewatches of it than the other episodes combined. Like Alpha Pact, it is all set up.
ReplyDeleteYou better get going on that rewatch though. The new episode airs in 17 hours.
I actually liked Visionary. I will fully admit to the episode feels really long in some points and there are a lot of things that can be improved upon. However, I really needed the background and getting it and not being able to trust if that is what indeed actually happened - to me- was great.
ReplyDeleteHa! I didn't think Visionary was that bad, either. On the other hand, I was also debugging a software application, on the side, while I was watching it and thus wasn't paying full attention all of the time. In a way that's almost like marathoning through a series and fast-forwarding past all of the dull parts like most of the Lana Scenes on Smallville). Sometimes, I think that's the best way to watch a series, anyway. Of course, you have to be careful that you don't miss anything important.
ReplyDeleteI was not a fan of it even in the beginning but I do agree that it met its purpose, which was to fill in the blanks of the story. However, now that I know those blanks, it is interminable in the rewatch. I give them all kudos for the unreliable narrators though. It was an interesting take and ultimately more successful than the splicing of the timeline they tried in Frayed. I'm glad they take chances with the narrative.
ReplyDeleteI try to give shows my full attention on first watch and then my attention scatters on the rewatches depending on the episode. Any show I am doing Best Scene polls for, I have to watch at least twice and it is in the rewatch when I find if AI truly am going to like the episode or not. Sometimes my opinion changes drastically.
ReplyDeleteI actually often do it the other way around but then, I don't have to review them :)
ReplyDeleteI hated visionary very much too but anyway I lave two comments about episode 11
ReplyDelete1st I loved the interaction between Lydia and Peter
"You? Me. You! Me." Hahaha
2nd: instead of Stiles, Scott and Alison sacrificing themselves to find their parents, why couldn't they just ask Alison's grandfather? He went with her father there so he knew exactly where the tree was!!!!!
