Sleepy Hollow - Episode 1.12 - The Indispensable Man - Synopsis

4 Jan 2014

Deputy Andy Brooks, the undead and reluctant minion of Moloch, returns to Sleepy Hollow and once again professes his love for Abbie. As a token, he offers her shelter from the coming apocalypse and - upon her refusal - repeats a chilling warning about the betrayal she is fated to suffer at Ichabod’s hand. Meanwhile, Crane recalls his final meeting with General Washington and begins to make progress uncovering some of the Bible’s hidden secrets. He learns of the existence of a map written by Washington himself that could prove invaluable to Crane in his quest to rescue his wife Katrina. His ebullience is dampened by the fact that the same map is the very tool Moloch needs to facilitate his invasion of the waking world. With the help of Henry Parrish, Crane and Mills set off on a hunt to find the map, well aware of the consequences should they allow it to fall into enemy hands.

Meanwhile, Brooks, fueled by the rage of Abbie’s latest rebuke, recommits himself to his master Moloch and gets a makeover as his reward. And in the wake of recent events, Irving falls under scrutiny by his commander when he is unable to offer any explanation for the recent rash of killings, or for the death of one of his own detectives.

  1. LOL, a makeover? And oh, this may not end well for Irving.

  2. Andy is a creepy stalker, for sure. Geez. I wonder who the dead detective will be, possibly Luke?

  3. As much as I'd hate it for this to happen, I'm starting to think Ichabod's betrayal will be him killing Jenny.

  4. If Ichabod has an eidetic memory, why do they need to take the map with them instead of hiding it? Ichabod memorizes it and viola, biggest risk solved.I do like that Henry is back and that someone outside is finally seeing that things are not well in Sleepy Hollow.

You're mad she doesn't want you, being an undead minion for the devil? ... I can see that.

Mhhhhhhmmmm. The death might be Jones, and Andy might be made over into either Jones or Luke?

  7. I'd just like to say that John Cho has done a great job making Deputy Andy Brooks into the skin-crawlingly creepy sumbitch that he is.

  8. Well, if I read that right, Ichabod has never seen the map. He learns of its existence and they set out to find it. Once they do, yeah, hide the darned thing. Or did I misunderstand the synopsis?

  9. But then that would mean John Cho is off the show, and that would suck.

  10. Or it might be the actual map itself, not just what is shown on the map, that is of importance.

  11. if it's Luke then Walkers coming for his ass haha

  12. No, that would be me not reading carefully. Face palm. This summary makes a whole lot more sense in the reread. Thanks! ;-)

  13. Another good point. These guys sure did love their puzzles.

  14. The dead detective they're referring to is Brooks

  15. Brooks was a deputy so it can't be him. It has to be either Luke or his partner Devon Jones.

  16. I got your back, sister. :)

  17. True. The beauty of this show is you can never guess what twists they'll throw in!

  18. All true, and yet, he's weirdly sympathetic, too.

  19. He does seem sympathetic until he starts pining over Abbie. It's more than a bit stalker-y.

  20. But it's the pining that makes him help them, so. . . One of my favorite things is when Abbie turns on the charm to get men to do things. She pulled it on Irving in the pilot to get time alone with Crane, she pulled it on Brooks to get him to speak for the Horseman, she pulled it on Parrish to get him to miss his train and help them. She's quite the manipulator, that one.
