Rank Your Favourite Current New or Freshman Shows
Of the ones I've seen, Revolution has to be my favourite. I love these post-apocalyptic stories when Man has to adjust to, and re-build his world. Then I also enjoyed 'Under The Dome' though I wasn't really expecting to.

On the down-side, Arrow gripped me the first half of the season but then it sort of petered out, and the pilot of the Tomorrow People didn't inspire me at all.Couldn't get into QUAT either.
The others like Elementary are ok but nothing special.
However, everyones tastes are different, as it should be. :)

Were anyone else's votes changed?
ReplyDeleteI voted a little while ago and came back to this page to check the comments, noticing my choices were all changed. Shows I like and upvoted (eg Reign and The Carrie Diaries) were now downvoted. Meanwhile shows I'd never heard of (eg The Bridge) were upvoted.
Mine are all showing ok.

Yeah I've done that but my choices have changed AGAIN. Now Arrow which I previously upvoted is downvoted while The Carrie Diaries returned to a downvoted status among others.

I used to watch The Following but after that atrocious finale last season and the announcement that Joe Carroll is still alive, made me not care for the show anymore and couldn't take it seriously. I'll watch a few episodes this season but if I can't care for any of the characters then what's the point? I have too many other shows that deserve my attention.
ReplyDeleteTrue Detective is definitely Hannibalesque in a way that the murder scenes are similar, fantastic acting, mesmerizing visuals, and has a slow moving pace that delivers a fantastic conclusion. I highly recommend True Detective to you before Reign.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, it's so slow I practically fell asleep. Just could not get into it. Did not find the characters compelling at all or the story--what there was of it. I expected to like it too, after all the hoopla over it.
ReplyDeleteWow, I was drawn into True Detective within the first 10 minutes and wanted more by the time it ended. I thought it was filled with detail and nuance. Loved it.

ReplyDeletesome of those shows are neither new or Freshman, if a show is in its second season or more it should be considered a Sophomore show therefore should not be on the list.

It's number 11 but for some odd reason they didn't even add a picture for Reign.What's up with that Reign is a great show and should have a picture.

ReplyDeleteY'know, people can decide they dislike a show based on its concent and promos. They don't actually have to watch it to make a decision, and I also read the script for the pilot last summer. It was horrible.
ReplyDeleteEheh, great to find people with similar taste. I've watched the pilot of Banshee over the summer and didn't dislike it but at the time I found other stuff to watch that glued me more. It's still on my "to watch list" as is True Detective, thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteWell, I understand your frustration with The Following and while I didn't think the last half of the season lived up to the absolute brilliance that was the first half, for me it was still good, but I guess we can't agree on everything. I care a lot about the characters and I personally am glad and understand why Joe Caroll was kept alive, I think it makes more sense this way, at least for a couple more seasons.

ReplyDeleteWatched BATB S1 and got hooked, S2 is even better. I also watch other sci-fy shows. The vampire shows, werewolf, zombies are wearing a bit thin on me now, too many out there and same story lines. Well, that's my opinion anyway.
ReplyDeleteNah, Reign's promos pulled no one in and then they watched it and it exceeded their expectations. So no the promos did not do it justice.
