This show is so contrived! The political story is messy as it is (Why the USA trying to reconstitute itself after 16 years of blackout is a bad thing is beyond me. How are the patriots the bad guys?), but the sci-fi elements are terrible. Aaron the chosen one and midichlorians everywhere, come on. Poeple lit on fire, nanites manifesting themselves as a sentient being... only good thing on this show are Monroe's oneliners and Charlie's hot ass.
The further I read your comment, the less I cared about your opinion. Then you finished on "Charlie's hot ass" and my regard for anything you have to say evaporated. I suspect anyone who values intelligent discourse will also do the same.
I love this show because it's so different from the boring crop of spy, intelligence, procedurals etc. I really hope it is renewed as my whole family really enjoys it. I have to say I like all the male characters, from Miles to Aaron. Great sruff.
What ever they are injecting in those oranges can't be good. Aaron wasn't chosen, he was their creator or at least they what the nano bots believe. An the scifi elements is what keeping me interested in this show.
If they didn't want an attractive young chick to be on the show, they wouldn't have cast her. She's pretty and I like looking at her. You may think you're smarter because you don't let her beauty define her, but you're just fooling yourself.
What? When did they show that? I must have missed it, because all I remember is the US president being on Cuba and ordering the patriots to start rebuilding the country. MIles and co are the only one who think they're bad.
First the Patriots are NOT the former United States (Kripke confirmed this). They seem to be the one's responsible for the blackout, as it also appears there were terrorists agents imbedded in the Government (Randall Flagg, Dr. Calvin Horn) who were using Ben and Rachel's technology company to prepare for this.
The science fiction is that there is another source of energy (nanites) that have now after whatever Aaron did at the tower (turn the power on then off = a kind of surge)in effort to stopping the nukes allowed the nanites to wake up (goes with Fringe "Sometime we wake up what can't be put back to sleep") and have their own conscience in which they deem Aaron one of their parental figures...It's an interesting way to look at a workd where there isn't alot of technology paying homage to the actual past, in hopes the the nanites will "light the way" to better future than the electrical world and very post electrical world these characters are coming from. In a lot of ways it's like LOST, but with Alias, Fringe, and Alcatraz's family saga built in....
Under TRIVIA: "According to "Revolution Revealed ," they are not the true United States of America. Wearing the American Flag is just a ruse for them to win the support of the refugees"
1. Priscilla is his former wife, but she remarried and has kids. I do not think Aaron married Cynthia considering she was just reacantly married to Carl, whom Aaron killed...I think she's just a love interest...
Note: Monroe has been paralleled to "Sawyer" as he calls Aaron "Stay-Puft" and this makes Aaron Paralleled to Hugo Reyes....Hurley's love interest was Elizabeth "Libby" Smith played by CYNTHIA Watros.
I watch many shows because it has an attractive cast. Being bisexual allows me to enjoy both genders, although I'm partial to women. However, there's a significant difference between thinking a woman is beautiful and saying the equivalent of "Nice tits!" in a public setting. Whether or not they are nice is not the relevant, it's how you deliver your opinion in a place where people can read it.
Finding someone attractive is one thing, being immature about it is quite another.
Beauty is also subjected to opinion and not just one's physic. Charlie may be physically attractive character, but not everyone defines or assigns affection for these elements alone, but I won't deny that it doesn't allow the viewers to accept characters that they normally wouldn't in the real world...
Thanks for the answer, but I understand other name when I watch the promo and I though that him had more than one. I know Aaron was married with Priscilla, I just don't understand why she go back to Revolution right now. I don't like her, not anymore.
I don't hate Priscilla at all, but I feel that Cynthia was "right" for Aaron, as she is the only character in the series who IMO is genuinely spiritual/religious, while other characters are either sacrilegious (Tom, Monroe, The Patriots-ie: Horn), existential (Aaron), broken in their views of the world (Rachel, Miles), or have not expressed where they 'stand' on the matter (Charlie, Jason).
IMO it's GREAT writing to have both of those characters (or the appearance of these characters) "here", as "Grace" (her name) is also spiritually thematic to the series and both characters presents elements of FATE for Aaron, as going with Maggie and finding Grace was Aaron's first mission only to meet her finally at that night at The Tower --and even in "Home" coming across Pricilla to save her life, an opportunity to not be a coward and to do "right" by her (along with all the winks to Texas during the second half of the season, as this where Priscilla was living and now where Aaron had lived and where the nanites followed)...
Aaron's whole story revolves around his cowardness and his ability/inability to believe in something more (even just in himself) to be able to take the responsibility for what's happening with something he was involved in creating. Priscilla is apart of that fear...apart of his failure as a human being...so I am assuming whether reality or astral projection, that this experience is meant to help Aaron help himself and begin to move on and become a person who wants to take charge, save the world...(well at least from the Patriots :p)
Immature? Dude, it's sex. If a girl has a nice set of breasts or a nice butt, you just say it. What else am I supossed to say? "Yes, charlie is a very attractive young woman"? She's a hot piece of ass. You're crazy.
Have they ever said it ON THE SHOW? I probably don't pay enough attention as it is, because I can't remember them showing the Patriots weren't the US Government. I just assumed that for some reason, the US Gov trying to rebuild the country was a bad thing... as if the Monroe republic was any good in the first place.
Ok, have they ever said it ON THE SHOW? I probably don't pay enough attention as it is, because I can't remember them showing the Patriots weren't the US Government. I just assumed that for some reason, the US Gov trying to rebuild the country was a bad thing... as if the Monroe republic was any good in the first place.
It's true the Patriots haven't themselves revealed that they are not in the show, but it's not my problem that you don't want to take the producers/writer's information when it has been freely given, but you should then expect that the people who do know will disagree with you.
Speaking of moot points, you say they're bad, right? Because you saw them inject stuff on oranges? But the main characters didn't. They been against the patriots since they showed up. How do they know they're bad?? All they know is the US sent the patriots to rebuild the country. I don't get why they're against that. Maybe I missed an episode.
Dude, you are aware that the majority of viewers don't read online articles nor watch interviews, therefor they don't know nor couldn't give a rat's ass about what Kripke or whoever it is has said? So far this season, I haven't seen one scene that showed the Patriots weren't actually the US goverment.
Call me what you will, it doesn't really matter. But talk like that to any woman who is worth having and you'll be alone for a very long time. Maybe that's what you want, but I was raised to respect women. There's nothing wrong with commenting on the attractiveness of a woman, but you do it with the grace of a drunken hill billy.
I'm a dudette! And again if the majority of users that have an internet don't use the internet to their advantage to understand something better (Interviews, NBC extras, taking with online friends, and other materials) that's there own ignorance.
The Patriots nuked the country (killed innocent people) as their entrance plan...Does that sound nice to you?
The point is not that you didn't know. It can be easy to miss information, but the difference is that once you have the information, it makes no sense to continue to make an argument out of it, choosing to be ignorant and defending it, especially when your commenting on a SPOILER site that caters to "extra information"!
Dudette, I'm sorry but I still don't get what makes the Patriots bad other than the main characters saying so, two of which were behind one of the more terrible "subnations" of the US after the blackout. The nuking at the begginig of the season was nothing other than an attack in a war that I assume the US had donde in order to start rebuilding THEIR nation. That's not a bad thing to me. War happens in real life and that's how the world works. And regardless of what site this is, I'm not going to watch an interview to gain information that should have been given to me ON screen ON the freaking show. I just think it's bad writing because so far all I know is that somehow the US governent are the bad guys because that's all the show has shown me.
It's a tv show for god's sake. Can't you acknowledge that they've failed so far in displaying the patriorts as the bad guys? Just having the main charatcers saying it doesn't cut it.
I did acknowledged it several times (in terms of the show by itself) that in EITHER case the SHOW has not YET disclosed if they are good or bad, but there is plenty of evidence (references, actions, allusions) to speculate that they are, as opposed to if they are not. In addition to the fact the showrunners have spoiled us and told us and because it's an ongoing story, it's not "a failure" if they eventually tell us in show! (that's the point in watching any serialized show)
If you agree with me, then why did you write so much? The show hasn't stablished yet exactly who the Patriots "really" are (assuming of course, they aren't the US government, which again, I don't see any reason why), therefore my original comment ("Why the USA trying to reconstitute itself after 16 years of blackout is a bad thing is beyond me. How are the patriots the bad guys?") is completely justified.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
So is this finally going to be the episode where it's revealed Miles is Charlie's father? I really hope so.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this!

ReplyDeleteI value intelligent discourse, but I also value Charlie's hot ass.
ReplyDeleteThe whole point is that they're NOT the US government - they're just pretending to be. I think Eric Kripke has compared them to Blackwater.
ReplyDeleteI love this show because it's so different from the boring crop of spy, intelligence, procedurals etc. I really hope it is renewed as my whole family really enjoys it. I have to say I like all the male characters, from Miles to Aaron. Great sruff.

How many wives Aaron has?

So the press release kind of lied about Aaron being included! Glad to see Priscilla back, but I suspect this town is gonna be "weird"...
ReplyDeleteAnd hopefully Charlie's actual biological father will be revealed, if not it might be about who raised Conner...

ReplyDeleteThanks for the answer, but I understand other name when I watch the promo and I though that him had more than one. I know Aaron was married with Priscilla, I just don't understand why she go back to Revolution right now. I don't like her, not anymore.

ReplyDeleteWell, all that you say is all good, but I don't care what Kripke said. I had no idea about this because I don't recall seeing it on the show.

ReplyDeleteOh, and The Patriots NUKED the Country. " I'm A Ptriot, Rachel." -Randall Flag (Tom also tells Julia this on the train in "Everyone Says I Love You")
