I still think that Emily had the perfect opportunity to destroy the whole Grayson family with the truth that Daniel shot her. Instead of having him sentenced for attempted murder and sent to jail, she merely relies on threats while works on "winning him back"?? It must be the head trauma affecting her. Regardless, Emily/Daniel seem to be the new Victoria/Conrad. It's almost poetic that Emily is morphing into Victoria faster than ever. I wonder if Nolan will give her a reality check anytime soon or will be too blinded by his own hatred for Victoria and disappointment in Patrick.
"Emily is determined to step up her game even further and personally hurt every single Grayson" But Daniel going to jail would have hurt every single Grayson. I don't see how blackmailing him into staying married to her is worse. Besides, no matter how hard she tries to "win him back", he'll never trust her again, so she cannot manipulate him like she used to. Anything she does from now on is going to raise suspicion.
"the writers only went this route because otherwise the show ends" - It certainly feels that way. But the show is called "Revenge", not "Emily Thorne's Revenge". There could be an arc about Victoria's plans for revenge against Ems, for instance.
I do think a potential game-changer that would reinvigorate the show is having Emily win and turn the tables, with the defeated Graysons going after HER for revenge. TVLine predicted that all the way back in the beginning of Season 2. Personally, I think a good way to do this would be Daniel dying and Victoria and Conrad becoming a united front to make Emily pay. I also want Charlotte to find out the truth and be on Emily's side... if she learned the truth about David, that could tip the scales of her loyalty I think. Her mother destroyed her father and sister's life and had her father murdered, that's a betrayal she won't be able to forgive.
Yes, precisely! These are excellent suggestions! Joshua Bowman mentioned a while back that his character's going nowhere and it might be better to kill him off - so Daniel's death is definitely a possibility. Or perhaps it's just my wishful thinking, lol. On the other hand, Charlotte could use some character development, so now's the perfect time for her to become Emily's ally in the Grayson clan.
Lol, that's okay, I think we all start some wishful thinking when the words "Daniel" and "death" appear in close proximity. :) Seriously, he manages to be even more loathsome than his parents because at least Conrad and Queen Vic are evil and loving it. They're not going to try to justify themselves to anyone. But Daniel, no matter how much crap he pulls, still takes the moral high ground and acts holier than thou. I don't want Emily to be the one who kills him, because her character shouldn't get as dark as to commit murder, but I so need her to give him a major ass-kicking...
I really loving the new direction the show is taking. I've never really been a big fan of Emily/Daniel as a couple but they were on fire in this scene.
Another possibility would've been to blame Victoria for the shooting and salvage her original plan. All the evidence still exists, and Victoria still has no alibi.
The only excuse I can come up with is that after being sterilized by Daniel, Emily is determined to step up her game even further and personally hurt every single Grayson, so simply having either Daniel or Victoria sent to prison wouldn't suffice. But yeah, that's splitting hairs... it feels like a plot hole. and that the writers only went this route because otherwise the show ends.
ABC prez Paul Lee did just state that with the show moving back to 10pm, the kid gloves will be off and the writers will be able to make the show darker. This is going to be good...
Yeah, it's a refreshing change from Daniel as Emily's adoring fiance who remains totally oblivious to her lies. The way it's been done makes him utterly loathsome, yes, but it finally takes the show in a new direction.
Emily looks totally gorgeous, that hairstyle and dress... stunner. And now she's playing it like an obsessive Fatal Attraction ploy to win Daniel back? Awesome.
Gotta love how Daniel tries to act like a badass in charge. Hey Danny? The fact that you still think you're NOT idiot makes everyone ELSE laugh.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I love this new atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteYou are still an idiot, don't fool yourself Daniel
ReplyDeletePretty sure this is the hottest I've ever seen them together, in their entire relationship...
ReplyDeleteHatred works for 'em.

I wouldn't be surprised if the writers try to shock the audience by
ReplyDeletehaving Emily and Daniel doing some hate-sex at the end of the episode.
