This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

Solid Return for “The Bachelor” on ABC
Household
Rating/Share
ABC 6.0/ 9
CBS 3.5/ 5
Fox 3.0/ 4
NBC 2.8/ 4
CW 0.6/ 1
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Monday 1/07/13:
Fox: +15, ABC: + 7, CW: no change, CBS: -10, NBC: -35
—–
-Winners:
“The Bachelor” (ABC), “Castle” (ABC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Hostages” (CBS)
—–
-Ratings Breakdown:
The return of “The Bachelor,” featuring Juan Pablo in his journey for love reality TV style, led ABC to opening week victory. “The Bachelor” kicked-off with a 6.0 rating/9 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m., which was 13 percent above the 5.3/ 8 on the year-ago evening. And that 5.3 rating in the overnights translated into 6.92 million viewers and a 2.3 rating/6 share among adults 18-49 (based on the live plus same day data). Keep in mind, of course, that competing NBC was in repeats and CBS aired encores of “2 Broke Girls” (#2: 4.4/ 6) and “Mom” (#3: 3.6/ 5) from 8-9 p.m.
“The Bachelor” led into a dominant 6.0/ 9 for “Castle” at 10 p.m.
In series-finale news, there was not much interest in “Hostages” on CBS, which scored a 3.4/ 5 from 9-11 p.m. But in a sea of quick cancellations (or downgrades to deadly Saturday), you have to give the eye net credit for running all 15 episodes of “Hostages” as planned. And what will be beneficial to upcoming drama replacement “Intelligence” (which previews tonight at 9 p.m. out of “NCIS”) is the low benchmark in the Monday 10 p.m. hour set by “Hostages.”
Elsewhere, on-the-fence Fox drama “Almost Human” (#3: 4.2/ 6 at 8 p.m.) led into a 1.9/ 3 for a repeat of Sleepy Hollow” at 9 p.m. (#4). Three repeat episodes of “The Blacklist” on NBC averaged a modest 2.8/ 4 from 8-11 p.m. And The CW populated the evening with encores of “Hart of Dixie” (#5: 0.7/ 1) and “Beauty and the Beast” (#5: 0.5/ 1).

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
