This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

Monday 1/20/14 Metered Market Ratings
ABC Wins; Weak Return for “Hollywood Game Night” on NBC
Household
Rating/Share
ABC 5.6/ 9
CBS 5.2/ 8
Fox 4.4/ 7
NBC 3.9/ 6
CW 0.8/ 1
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Monday 1/21/13:
NBC: +11, ABC: – 3, CW: -11, CBS: -24, Fox: -28
—–
-Winners:
“The Bachelor” (ABC), “How I Met Your Mother” (CBS), “2 Broke Girls” (CBS), “Mike & Molly” (CBS), “Mom” (CBS), “The Blacklist” (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Hollywood Game Night” (NBC), “Hart of Dixie” (CW), “Beauty and the Beast” (CW) “Intelligence” (CBS)
—–
-Ratings Breakdown:
ABC opened the week on a winning overnight note care of two-hours of “The Bachelor” (5.4 rating/8 share from 8-10 p.m.) and “Castle,” which won the 10 p.m. hour with 5.8/ 9. But competing “The Blacklist” on NBC with a 5.6/ 9 owns the time period in all the key demos. Given the recent controversial remarks made by Juan Pablo Galavis, this is a huge relief for ABC.
In season-premiere news, two episodes of “Hollywood Game Night” on NBC, hosted by Jane Lynch, finished fourth in the 8-10 p.m. block with a 3.1/ 5 from 8-9 p.m. and a 2.9/ 4 from 9-10 p.m. As a temporary fill-in for “The Voice,” NBC is counting the days, no doubt, until the singing competition returns. But the good news was the double-digit growth for “The Blacklist” at 10 p.m.
CBS was on par with typical overnight Monday levels, which is a positive for the 8-10 p.m. block and a negative for week three of drama “Intelligence.” Soon-to-conclude “How I Met Your Mother” opened with a dominant 5.9/ 9 at 8 p.m., followed by No. 1 time period finishes as well for “2 Broke Girls” (5.8/ 9), “Mike & Molly” (6.1/ 9) and “Mom” (5.6/ 8) from 8:30-10 p.m. Retention of 92 percent for improved “Mom” out of “Mike & Molly” all but guarantees a renewal for next season. Episode three of “Intelligence,” meanwhile, dipped to a third-place 4.0/ 7 at 10 p.m., which was 11 percent below the 4.5/ 7 one week earlier.
In season-finale news, two-hours of “Sleepy Hollow” on Fox, which lost some steam as the first season progressed, scored a 4.4/ 7 from 8-10 p.m. Demographically, the results should be respectable. And The CW capped off the night with its low-rated combination of dramas “Hart of Dixie” (#5: 1.0/ 2) and “Beauty and the Beast” (#5: 0.7/ 1).
