While Woody the Coroner (recurring guest star Kurt Fuller) examines a corpse in the morgue an unknown man (guest star Peter Stormare, “Fargo”) takes him hostage and makes unreasonable demands. Shawn (James Roday), Gus (Dule Hill), Police Officer Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) and Detective O’Hare (Maggie Lawson) try carefully to resolve the situation but Interim Chief Trout (guest star Anthony Michael Hall) has a plan of his own to rescue Woody.
