I loved how much character development we got in this episode!
Damn, Matthew McConaughey is giving a remarkable performance in this show. Rust continues to be one of the most intriguing characters on TV today. His part of the interview in this episode was fantastic. I couldn't look away.
It was interesting to see the new revelations from both Marty and Rust's personal lives (Marty having a mistress and how Rust's daughter died and how it ruined his marriage).
After this episode, Rust is a force to be reckoned with. Marty better watch out if he ever pisses him off again.
The final scene with Marty and Rust finding a drawing of someone with antlers on their head in the church was absolutely terrifying. I got chills down my spine.
Overall, an amazing follow up episode to the pilot. Can't wait for more next week!
Matthew McConaughey needs to narrate audiobooks he has such a hypnotic voice. I love the slow-burn nature of this show, the teasing of details, the hallucinations and imagery it all makes for a Rust being caught in this dream-like state that keeps turning into a nightmare.
I gotta admit, I've always felt McConaughey is overrated. However he is giving an amazing performance with the dual characters of Rust Cohle. He and Harrelson are making a truly excellent team.

NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Just as good as the pilot. I´m glad that they are keeping it up.
ReplyDeleteAnd great to see Rebecca from Banshee in something else.
