Half an episode and they hook up Charlie and Connor. I'm thisclose to being done with this show. Only reason I'm sticking around to after the hiatus is because the preview seemed to suggest that the nanites are dying and that is a story line I approve.
-Fun action packed episode with cliffhangers galore! -Really surprised no one died! -Found Peter interesting, but really liked Duncan and the guy running the New Vegas fights. (Hope Duncan is a longer term Monroe love interest. Makes me wonder if this is Andrea Roth role retooled? -Fun to see/hear Brett Micheals (love the line about Steven Tyler's mummified body) -Didn't mind the Charlie/Conner one night stand (if that's what it's gonna be), but do feel bad for Jason. But I found myself to warm up to Conner a little more in this episode. -Finally got to meet the President (and I like his mellow southern style) -Not sure how much I like the Tom/Jason story line, just hoping there will be some additional twists, because it would be nice to see them all on the same side, even just for a few episodes or at the end of the season. -Love the lets go see a pretend movie scene (reminds me of Lost with the fake peanut butter and Felicity when Ben holds the film canister of Gold Rush up to Felicity and asks her what this is and he tells her, "It's a time Machine") Wonder if we should read into that "Gone with the Wind" reference? -On the whole they're still spinning their wheels a bit, but I know we're right in the middle of the season and can wait a few more episodes for some kind of bigger twist/plot turn.
I was happy with the show except for the part where Charlie slept with Connor. I am one of the sad Charloe shippers and am annoyed that NBC kept promoting Charlie/Monroe then went against it. I guess they got what they wanted because a lot of the people who tuned in tonight were excited for Charlie/Monroe, but all they did was piss us off.
So if that's the president of the US, then the Patriots really are the US, therefor, my question still is... why are they the bad guys? The country went to shit, and now they're taking it back from people like Monroe and that other lady in Georgia. I don't see why I should be rooting for the main characters.
It's not really surprising though. They made it clear at the beginning of the season that Charlie was having random sex. And it's been awhile for her. Like she said, he was cute and their time is short.
Diane, I completely agree!! The producers earlier this season acknowledged the OBVIOUS Charlie/Monroe chemistry and the fan interest in it yet they pissed it away with one scene in this episode. I'm actually starting to think the writers and producers are TRYING to prevent a third season because they've screwed up the show so badly, they don't know how to continue/fix it!!
Just because it's not surprising doesn't make it a good idea. Surprising, even shocking would have been in hooking up Charlie and Monroe. But the writing staff is apparently filled with cowards who are afraid of something as Insignificant as an age difference! Nope, can't have that bit of "happens every day reality" intrude on hooking up the youngsters!
Whatever it takes, Darth, just kill off the nanites and get back to the show I fell in love with last year about family and redemption. I really miss that show. This season has been a severe disappointment.
I'm over the whole nannites side story. Really do not give a f, and should have learned early on to fast forward through them. It's got to be one of the lamest deus ex machina devices contrived so far on this show. Even worse, I see the writers using them in the finale when it's US govt vs Matheson Clan.
You mean, other than the fact that the Patriots are deliberately poisoning/infecting people with Typhus, brain-washing a bunch of people, getting rid of the "undesirables" etc. Now, who did this sort of thing in our own history? Hitler maybe?
I hope they are going in a down spiraled with Charlie so she can finally be with Monroe. I wish they would let Monroe save Chalrie but I believe he will be her bottom..... Love it how Monroe was afraid Charlie will go crazy on Duncan. He is actually the only one who does not understimates Charlie.
It is not simply because of something as insignificant as age difference. I think it has do to with the fact tha Charlie would be hooking up with someone she holds responsible for the death of her father and brother. Even if he didn't pull the trigger, even if Danny was all grown up and decided he would fight in the war it is the fact that CHARLIE holds MONROE responsible. I see her working with him against the patriots, getting involved with his kid, even seeing some redemption in him, but I just don't see her getting romantically involved with someone she blames for her not having her brother and father with her any longer. I would also lose respect for the character because I am ok with her giving him a chance to change even forgiving him but getting in bed with him?? I just think it would be too much after something so painful and permanent as the death of your dad and brother.
I enjoyed the show, and I loved it that they did not drag out the love scenes like they do on other shows. My biggest complaint (and it has been for the last few weeks) is that Miles needs to be utilized more again. The character has been pushed to the back which is a pity as I think there is still enough character development in him that would be interesting to see. I also think the writers are doing a cop out in suddenly showing Miles and Rachel as this happy and perfect couple. It just does not make sense that a woman like Rachel would forgive so easily no matter how much in love she is. Oh well...in my opinion the writers dropped the ball with this story-line..and I hope if Revolution gets another season, they pick it up. Not sure how I feel about Charlie and Connor, although it is consistent how Charlie has been shown this season..a tough woman who really doesn't care what others think. I love how her character has been developed from the innocent girl to the badass woman. I love that the Nevilles are in Willoughby now and hope they stay there for a while. Will be interesting to see if Neville ends up fighting against the Patriots or for them. Next episode looks promising..I do wonder if Aaron will have to go back to the tower to save the Nanites..and if Rachel will join him.
I liked the episode, but they seems to extend to much the revelations about the nanobots. I like the Charlie and Connor scenes (was fast, but was good). I think the show is just fun for now, the beginning of the season was awesome, but the quality fell after episode eight and grown a little on episode 2x12. I don't know they need to decide better what to do with patriots plot and the nanobots plot, they need more way out or more creative ideas.
BTW the revelation of the president was fine, I mean the man was supposed to be the worse villain above the others patriots introduced so far, but seems just another politician with bad intentions.
Best line of the night was the guy trying to get people in to see the Mummified body of Steven Tyler! I bust out laughing! My husband didn't pick up on it which made me laugh even more!
Loved how Charlie and Conner's relationship started out but i didn't expect them to have a ride in the hay yet! I never expected her to say she was 'bored' and that was the reason given!
Ya,really enjoyed Miles taking Rachel on a date to the outdoor movies, and yes,it was another LOST moment, very sweet... I only wish we saw Miles a little more enthusiastic, passionate, about being with Rachel after all these years. It's really the first time they have been alone,in peace, without others around and i just wanted a little more,if only for a brief moment....would have been nice.
I am very tired of Tom's turning every few episodes.Stand up and die for what your fighting for,ha! I understand why he is the way he is,but i am so over his character..
The nanites are an opportunity for "redemption", as redemption is not about the tools one uses to save the day, it's about how and for what reason(s) one uses the tools to save the day.
They promoted it because the fans wanted them to promote it, despite whatever the writers intentions would be. To me it's a juxtaposition back to last season. Charlie brought Miles to Monroe and Rachel, now Charlie brought Monroe to Miles and Rachel. I knew form the moment that Conner would be 5 yrs older than her that the Monroe-Charlie shippers were out of control, as shippers tend to be. Who wants to be a step mommy to someone 5 yrs older than she is?
But I think it's no surprise that a Conner/Charlie dynamic would occur once we knew that Conner would be introduced. I'm just waiting to see if they will bond, or if Conner will die and if Jason is still meant to be her long term love interest.
I like that Charlie has had her faith shattered too and that we have an opportunity to see her living in this darker place, where she lives for the adventure of the moment, especially if there is someone out there that can give her some of what she lost back.
I also like Duncan and seeing someone else care from Monroe. Going back to things that were changed from the Pilot, I kind of think that maybe Duncan is in Andrea Roth's role, except obviously retooled to not be a Matheson. I think it's a fun motif that Miles would be with a blonde and Monroe a brunnette.
Don't start. Besides that I have told this user before that Kripke has told us that The Patriots are bad already and that there are great Hitler and Devil parallels (Poisonous fruit = fall of Adam and Eve + Randall Flagg = antagonist of King novels, Randall = A Patriot, ect), the user continues to harp away at the fact that on the show the Patriots have not been denounced as evil and/or not the former US government and seems to want to support that they are "good" people.
I wish we would have held onto the Rachel/Miles scene a little more too, but I'm sure we'll see more and more of it.
JC is just such a good actor it's a shame to have him all caged up like this. I'm hoping though now that he's out of East Coast that he'll find some way to help Miles and gang and still try and save his wife (which I don't know if I believe is still alive, or that they won't just kill them off once Monroe is taken care off). We have 9 more episodes to see what transpires. I'm hopeful that things will gear up again after a couple more episodes...
"BTW the revelation of the president was fine, I mean the man was supposed to be the worse villain above the others patriots introduced so far, but seems just another politician with bad intentions."
I agree that he did come off that way, but the one thing that's interesting about most (say for Horn) of Patriot characters is how "normal" and generally mundane they appear, but I think it's a mistake to under estimate them. But even if you're right and they are all "politicians" as opposed to people who have military experience, could they just be "figure heads" of the organization and have no real weight. It's also possible that the President we meant is a decoy (although I doubt it).
In more recant years there have been books that came out about how Hitler was initially just a "poster child" for the Nazi organization, who's ideology had been brewing for some time prior to the time of Hitler...
After last night I am so close to being done with this. Same stuff over & over and nothing changes. So sick of Aaron's story. I had a headache at the end of it-- that should say it all.
"Next episode looks promising..I do wonder if Aaron will have to go back to the tower to save the Nanites..and if Rachel will join him."
You know that's a perfect idea! :D
I think given The Dark Tower reference and that it may relate by 'going in circles' (or going back to where one started) that going back to the Tower again seems like a likely prospect.
You should of seen it before the series started. "Hope will light the way" was it's tagline and once we knew that there where nanites and that they were another way to have power/energy, which was even before they "woke up" this season, seemed a likely prospect, but given that phrase "woken up" do I think we have Fringe allusion to a favorite phrase, "Sometime what we wake up, it can't be put back to sleep." The nanites are probably not going anywhere, but I could see them "change" in some way.
But my point is that you should, because you don't know where it could lead. IMO everyone is impatient. I think we are spoiled with Cable format and that it is not fair to shows that have longer orders and who have to cater to the network more. If you really like something, even if it has moments where it is spinning wheels (because they have to spread it out to meet the order, they can't get to where they are going too quickly, otherwise the ending to the season would suck), one should hold on, simply because they are capable of being aware of such things.
Disagree. Her cool as cucumber attitude is what keeps Miles grounded and makes him believe he can be better person. Nora I think was good friend, but I think he never loved her as deeply and as long as he loved Rachel. I enjoy their chemistry. I like that their characters that are coming from different ends of the pool. (Grounded military man and a far out tech-scientist and the military man is very social, but very self controlled, where the scientist is mysterious, but can get over emotional.)
I knew the minute they changed things around in the Pilot that this was the intention, especially because Olivia Dunham on Fringe is a very similar character to Jack Shepphard and Juliet Burke, and I could see from Billy Burke's Lucas Vogel and his relationship with Olivia Dunham the kind of story that would be told here. Nora was a neat character in her own right and I wish she would of had a bigger arc fleshing out her father and sister more, but I always felt those characters were "too alike" for each other's good.
You don't seem to get it....I've begun to stop caring where it could lead & don't feel that I 'should' care as you put it. They keep utilizing the same plot devices over and over and it's tiring. You sound like you're a very devoted fan of the show and that's great....for you. Not all of us feel that same devotion or desire to hang on to see if it "might" turn out to be something exciting, when it very well might not. I don't even think it has much chance of a S3 at this point. I'll admit the first 9 eps this season had me hooked-- even Aaron's story was exciting even though I found his whining about it tiresome-- but since it's come back I'm asking myself more and more, "why am I watching?"
Well, if they promoted it 'because the fans wanted them to promote it', then pissed those same fans off in the matter of 5 seconds, it was very bad judgment on their part. Why promote something to make people think there's a chance for it to happen & then stomp it down in the matter of a moment and anger half your fan base?
Something else that bothered me-- in one scene we're seeing 'our gang' get the typhus vaccine and get away, while Truman is running into the tent to get the vaccine himself. At this point, we are to believe that, so far, he is the only patriot to know that Monroe is really alive. Next scene--Neville being brought in to the Oval office to be told that Monroe is alive and in Willoughby and is being sent to kill him. How did all that info travel so quickly from Texas to DC? have days or a week gone by? Then I wish they'd make that clear. They did offer us the '5 days later' between Neville's/prez scene and him getting to TX which was nice, wish they'd done that with this also.
All I can do is offer a perspective, because I do care about the show and would love to have a third season. I can easily imagine how hard it would be to try and make a serialized story work for 22 episodes where one has to cater to the network and the advertising companies. I have empathy for that situation and know that it's not all necessarily the writer's fault that they get stuck into being repetitive. Another aspect is also they don't know if they're getting another season and so have to be careful about what they set-up or introduce in case they do have to call it quits at the end of this season
Obviously if you don't enjoy the show anymore in any capacity, you don't enjoy the show anymore.
NBC cares about it's ratings and it's advertisers. It's going to cater it's promos to fans based on what they think fans like and how they think they can keep fans hooked, but obviously since these episodes had been filmed long before thees promos, NBC already knew what would go on and they didn't care. They don't know if this would tick fans off or not, because fans had not seen Charlie with Conner yet to see if they could except that, but I think anyone who read any spoilers about this season could easily assume that the Charlie and Conner relationship (whatever it is going to be or not be) would ALSO be explored. -It's not like Charlie is expecting anything in return. She just slept with the guy because he's cute and she's gonna live her life while she can. None of us know that just because she slept with him that he will end up being her long term love interest. We don't even know if the kid's gonna live...
True, but that's NBC's fault not the writers or the writing. The sooner they get close to syndication, the better for everyone (I wish they would change it), but unfortunately it means we get some filler hear and there. -However when you watch it back to back everything goes so much quicker that I don't think it ends up being that big of a deal.
"How did all that info travel so quickly from Texas to DC?"
The Patriots come off as Big Brother and no doubt tie into the conspiracy behind the black out (which means they had to have HUGE operation, lots of preliminary work had to go into it, they have to be well mobilized to come in and take the nation this quickly). Even Tom seemed to get to Texas rather quickly. In the last episode I noticed that they had Beethoven Symphony No.7 play on a record player, -I don't know if this was one that you could "wind up", but if not, they have POWER.
-Randall was a Patriot and we know that before the night at the Tower that there were devices that could use the nanotec to use energy and power devices (and they were able to use the nanite satellites the whole time). We haven't heard one way or another IF those devices can still be used now that the nanites could come to life, but if so, that's one way. Another is if there are more places like the Tower where they could at least communicate threw)
I agree...those little inconsistencies within the story can drive you crazy. I think it's the writers being lazy and it's why so many people are turning away from Revolution.l do wish the writers paid more attention to little details like this. For example, in S1 they showed us Neville sending a courier to Monroe to tell him of Ben's death...they could have done the same yesterday..show us Truman sending a courier to DC. It would have taken 10 seconds and would have explained so much.
Dude, that was the President of the US. They are the US. When you said they weren't, I thought you meant they were pretending to be the US lead by the President, but indeed they are the US lead by the President. I don't care if they go all Hitler on the rest of the subcountries, their mission seems to restart the country. That doesn't make them bad. They're just the bad guys for having badguys's sake. So Miles and Monroe can be allies against "someone worst". And now they're even started with the religious aspect of the nanites. This show just got even sillier.
I agree- it almost makes you wonder if they already know there will be no S3 and so they're just trying to end it (because to me, they sure are packing a lot into single episodes now...with no conclusions!). but they're not taking the time for all those little details, which they did show, like you said, in S1. In S1 things were much more drawn out- I mean, it took the whole first half of the season to get to Danny. Now they accomplish whatever goal they have in one single episode (finding connor, walking from state to state, saving Willoughby) & then draw out others (Aaron) to the point of boredom by viewers. I thought the danny storyline was too long and some of these are too short. it's like they've gone from one extreme to the next with storytelling, and leaving out all the details that would make more sense out of it.
First just because he calls himself The President, doesn't mean he is the FORMER president and/or these people are not masquerading in the image of the former government.
Frome Revolution Wiki
"There is a safe room which the Vice President of the former United States used in case of an emergency. There is also a lab and an armory where coilguns were kept. Apparently the global satellites that control the nanites are still up and scenes from around the world can be viewed inside The Tower through monitors. The Tower has an Exam room as well as a storage area on level 11. ("The Dark Tower")"
A Eugenics movement where they decide who they will let live and die (especially the backwards secretive way they're doing it) is bad no matter whom you are.
So Neville recognizes the President who's not the President...? Are you on crack? That WAS the President of the US. Please stop being such a Kripke lover and agree that they are bad writers already?! They are showing us clearly that the US government is bad news. But aren't Monroe and Neville and the Georgia lady (can't remember her name, maybe she's dead?) bad news? There's a global blackout and the US goes to shit, so the President hides in Cuba and 15 years later starts a process of eliminating these new subcountries so they rule again. That's what I expect from a country like the US in a situation like this. Still no sense in they being the bad guys. Clearly that IS the US. That IS the President. If that's not the case, these writers cannot write to save their lives. There is no indication on the show that it's not the case.
No, I'm not on crack, but what you fail to realize is that what the US was and what the US is, is no longer the same thing. The show revolves around a conspiracy.
Since you don't think the writers can write, quit watching.
No. If YOU READ THE INTERVIEW it says that perhaps there are REMNANTS of the former US, but they became someone else, meaning something other than what the US Government was, hence they are not The US Government, because they wiped out the former US and are now masquerading as them.
Stop using the Nazi card, dear god. We might be on the internet, but stop it already. That was the President of the US at the time the blackout hit. That's what's been implied. If Kripke says otherwise, he better start writing it on screen instead of saying it in interviews.
And that's exactly my point against you. You're defending the lack of explanations on this show on the premise that because it's serialized, we'll get answers laters. Ever watched Lost? These writers use the Lost writing technique. Mystery within mystery within mystery. They'll run out of episodes. I'm just aksing you to see this show for what it is and what's been show so far. The President and the Patriots ARE the US. How can they not be? They even tried to hint a that with the arabic letter, but that's was just a diversion because that woman had issues with her busband. This is not good writing.
Yes I watched LOST (do you not see my screen name?) and I got the most important answers I needed to understand the series in the final episode. I don't dispute the mystery in a mystery concept. In fact I love it,because it's true to life! But this is one of those times where an answer has been given prior to the season. I think it's one thing to complain about this after the series ends, as opposed to seeing when it all plays out. But again if it's not for you, then quit watching and having these discussions with people!
Loved it. I like where every character is. I am loving the Monroes relationship and my favorite moment of the episode was Bass putting his hand on his son after he thought the con worked. I also really enjoyed Charlie/mini-Bass and Rachel/Miles. Tom joining the main storyline is also a big plus. My only complaint is the Aaron storyline, I am over it, I don't really care anymore about it. My opinion on the sci-fi part of the show this season has been that, while ok, it was really not needed. I think Revolution has enough storyline to explore by handling the whole "new world" thing, sci-fi is not needed there and I kind of wish they would end that storyline already now, although it did lead to some nice moments earlier in the season. Oh, how I suffer with the ratings of this show, I pray for a renewal :S
I am warming up to Connor a lot. I am a big sucker of the Monroe/Connor relationship. In a weird way, I found parallels to Jack/David in Lost Season 6, as both their sons represent the chance to do better and to correct latent issues they had (even though in Jack's case it was a direct manifestation of his daddy issues with Christian Sheppard). I am a big sucker for these relationships.
I liked the way they did it with having Charlie in control and doing it right away to get it out of the way without making it a whole "we're in love" thing. I thought I was going to have the same reaction you had but the way they did it, I actually loved it.
I totally agree, but I'm not sure if Conner is good for Sebastian or visa versa, where with Jack and David, as you said, we knew it was 'spiritual progress' and possibly a "reward" for Jack (and Juliet's) sacrifice(s), as I believe the beginnings of the fS reflected the next timeline/incarnation (like a glimpse into the upcoming 2004).
I'm def looling forward to seeing how Conner's role will play out :)
I think with David it was more a direct response to daddy issues and the fear that Jack had that he would never be a good father because of his own daddy issues. Simultaneously though, it ended up resulting in a chance for Jack to do-over and get a purpose, which is exactly what the Monroes relationship appear to be. I am very happy with the Connor role as well, I share your excitement!
"Jack to do-over and get a purpose, which is exactly what the Monroes relationship appear to be"
I hope so, but I think it remains to be seen, because we knew for sure that Jack did have daddy issues and because that is what the Island's [intact] existence is working towards, where I don't feel good enough about Conner yet to know if he's "good" for Monroe or if he's going to make Monroe worse than he was before, because Monroe's loss is what drove him to be 'evil', where Jack rarely (just season 5 flashbacks) was sociopathic, he was more of a healer...
Dear God, yourself. My German Grandparents were in the under ground and joined the American red cross, so I def feel bad for Germany's unfortunate stigma, but it is the closest and most recant comparison in World History I could make.
"If Kripke says otherwise, he better start writing it on screen instead of saying it in interviews.
Or maybe you could just wait and see how it unfolds on screen before you get into massive arguments with people, since that's the point in watching a serialized show.
Maybe they should have a condensed number of episodes if they have too much time and not enough story. When Lost changed to a 16 episode season, it became very succinct and clear in its storytelling.
I agree with you on Miles-- it feels like he's been pushed to the back burner lately and is really a shame since Billy Burke is such a great actor and is very funny. I felt the same way about Charlie recently (being pushed to the back burner) & now this quick hook up with connor -- oy! Don't even know what to say about that.
I agree we're coasting, but they have 9 episodes to go, so I think it only makes sense that they have to coast since they have a 22 episode season. I think once we get one or two more out of the way it will start to build and we should see things turn over more, instead of spinning. I think Aaron's story is important, because the questions he and his story raises is important to the idea of how humanity uses it's tools and the power of belief in relation should Aaron or anyone use this technology and/or if the technology can be turned off, changed, manipulated, and/or be pinned against itself. Will it's conscience be good or better for the future of humanity? But I agree it's taking some time on making a stance on these things, but the introduction of Peter, the reuniting of Priscilla, and the loss of Cynthia I think play well to the playing God discussion, especially if it will all come down to Aaron anyways...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Its the same every week I want to some big reveals and plot twists...it's getting boring
ReplyDeleteHalf an episode and they hook up Charlie and Connor. I'm thisclose to being done with this show. Only reason I'm sticking around to after the hiatus is because the preview seemed to suggest that the nanites are dying and that is a story line I approve.
ReplyDeleteThat was great! Loved Monroe saying that Bret Michaels and cockroaches would survive.
ReplyDeleteI loved that Charlie and Connor had sex (and Monroe's reaction was the best). Hee at Miles and Rachel post-sex with Gene too.
Hopefully Neville and Jason really don't try to kill them.
Going to miss this show during hiatus.
-Fun action packed episode with cliffhangers galore!
ReplyDelete-Really surprised no one died!

-Finally got to meet the President (and I like his mellow southern style)
-Not sure how much I like the Tom/Jason story line, just hoping there will be some additional twists, because it would be nice to see them all on the same side, even just for a few episodes or at the end of the season.
I think the promo suggested that they have a "choice" to kill the nanites, as opposed to them just dying.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the show, and I loved it that they did not drag out the love scenes like they do on other shows.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how I feel about Charlie and Connor, although it is consistent how Charlie has been shown this season..a tough woman who really doesn't care what others think.
ReplyDeleteBTW the revelation of the president was fine, I mean the man was supposed to be the worse villain above the others patriots introduced so far, but seems just another politician with bad intentions.
Best line of the night was the guy trying to get people in to see the Mummified body of Steven Tyler! I bust out laughing! My husband didn't pick up on it which made me laugh even more!
ReplyDeleteLoved how Charlie and Conner's relationship started out but i didn't expect them to have a ride in the hay yet!
ReplyDeleteThey promoted it because the fans wanted them to promote it, despite whatever the writers intentions would be.
ReplyDeleteBut I think it's no surprise that a Conner/Charlie dynamic would occur once we knew that Conner would be introduced.
I think it's a fun motif that Miles would be with a blonde and Monroe a brunnette.
i dont think they wud hook charlie up with a man the same age and best friend to her father(Miles). they have chemistry but not hook up chemistry
ReplyDeleteDon't start.
ReplyDeleteI wish we would have held onto the Rachel/Miles scene a little more too, but I'm sure we'll see more and more of it.
ReplyDeleteJC is just such a good actor it's a shame to have him all caged up like this.
ReplyDeleteI agree that he did come off that way, but the one thing that's interesting about most (say for Horn) of Patriot characters is how "normal" and generally mundane they appear, but I think it's a mistake to under estimate them.
ReplyDeletebut see....at this point, hardly any of us care anymore.
ReplyDeleteMiles & Rachel have no chemistry-- probably why he can't act more enthusiastic. He and Nora sizzled on screen- they made a mistake by killing her off.
ReplyDelete"Next episode looks promising..I do wonder if Aaron will have to go back to the tower to save the Nanites..and if Rachel will join him."
ReplyDeleteYou know that's a perfect idea!
ReplyDeleteBesides do you want the Patriots to win?
Agreed! I have never understood what Miles sees in her...
ReplyDeleteBut my point is that you should, because you don't know where it could lead.
ReplyDeleteDisagree.
ReplyDeleteI knew the minute they changed things around in the Pilot that this was the intention, especially because Olivia Dunham on Fringe is a very similar character to Jack Shepphard and Juliet Burke, and I could see from Billy Burke's Lucas Vogel and his relationship with Olivia Dunham the kind of story that would be told here.
ReplyDeleteWell, if they promoted it 'because the fans wanted them to promote it', then pissed those same fans off in the matter of 5 seconds, it was very bad judgment on their part. Why promote something to make people think there's a chance for it to happen & then stomp it down in the matter of a moment and anger half your fan base?
ReplyDeleteSomething else that bothered me-- in one scene we're seeing 'our gang' get the typhus vaccine and get away, while Truman is running into the tent to get the vaccine himself.
ReplyDeleteAll I can do is offer a perspective, because I do care about the show and would love to have a third season.
ReplyDeleteObviously if you don't enjoy the show anymore in any capacity, you don't enjoy the show anymore.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but that's NBC's fault not the writers or the writing. The sooner they get close to syndication, the better for everyone (I wish they would change it), but unfortunately it means we get some filler hear and there. -However when you watch it back to back everything goes so much quicker that I don't think it ends up being that big of a deal.
ReplyDelete"How did all that info travel so quickly from Texas to DC?"
ReplyDeleteThe Patriots come off as Big Brother and no doubt tie into the conspiracy behind the black out (which means they had to have HUGE operation, lots of preliminary work had to go into it, they have to be well mobilized to come in and take the nation this quickly).
Unfortunately, since syndication is 100 episode's, they have a very long ways to go- I don't think it will last that long.
ReplyDeleteNo, probably not.
ReplyDeleteI agree...those little inconsistencies within the story can drive you crazy. I think it's the writers being lazy and it's why so many people are turning away from Revolution.l do wish the writers paid more attention to little details like this.
ReplyDeleteFor example, in S1 they showed us Neville sending a courier to Monroe to tell him of Ben's death...they could have done the same yesterday..show us Truman sending a courier to DC.
ReplyDeleteI agree- it almost makes you wonder if they already know there will be no S3 and so they're just trying to end it (because to me, they sure are packing a lot into single episodes now...with no conclusions!). but they're not taking the time for all those little details, which they did show, like you said, in S1.
ReplyDeleteMaybe IF they do get a S3, they will get it right :). Just might have to change writers again lol. Is Kripke still involved with writing the show?
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe so. I haven't heard he was let go or anything.
ReplyDeleteFirst just because he calls himself The President, doesn't mean he is the FORMER president and/or these people are not masquerading in the image of the former government.
ReplyDeleteFrome Revolution Wiki
"There is a safe room which the Vice President of the former United States used in case of an emergency. There is also a lab and an armory where coilguns were kept. Apparently the global satellites that control the nanites are still up and scenes from around the world can be viewed inside The Tower through monitors. The Tower has an Exam room as well as a storage area on level 11. ("The Dark Tower")"
A Eugenics movement where they decide who they will let live and die (especially the backwards secretive way they're doing it) is bad no matter whom you are.
Poor, I feel like this show is just spinning it's wheels until something big happens after the big hiatus
ReplyDeleteYes and even the new additional writer is his former writer.
ReplyDeleteSo Neville recognizes the President who's not the President...?
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not on crack, but what you fail to realize is that what the US was and what the US is, is no longer the same thing. The show revolves around a conspiracy.
ReplyDeleteSince you don't think the writers can write, quit watching.
So now you agree that the "the US" in this show is indeed "the US"? What I've been saying ALL along? thanks,
ReplyDeleteNo. If YOU READ THE INTERVIEW it says that perhaps there are REMNANTS of the former US, but they became someone else, meaning something other than what the US Government was, hence they are not The US Government, because they wiped out the former US and are now masquerading as them.
ReplyDeleteStop using the Nazi card, dear god. We might be on the internet, but stop it already. That was the President of the US at the time the blackout hit. That's what's been implied. If Kripke says otherwise, he better start writing it on screen instead of saying it in interviews.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's exactly my point against you.
ReplyDeleteYes I watched LOST (do you not see my screen name?) and I got the most important answers I needed to understand the series in the final episode.
ReplyDeleteLoved it.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, I wish the nannites storyine would just go away. The show is awesome enough already without it.
ReplyDeleteI am warming up to Connor a lot.
ReplyDeleteI liked the way they did it with having Charlie in control and doing it right away to get it out of the way without making it a whole "we're in love" thing. I thought I was going to have the same reaction you had but the way they did it, I actually loved it.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, but I'm not sure if Conner is good for Sebastian or visa versa, where with Jack and David, as you said, we knew it was 'spiritual progress' and possibly a "reward" for Jack (and Juliet's) sacrifice(s), as I believe the beginnings of the fS reflected the next timeline/incarnation (like a glimpse into the upcoming 2004).
ReplyDeleteI'm def looling forward to seeing how Conner's role will play out :)
ReplyDelete"Jack to do-over and get a purpose, which is exactly what the Monroes relationship appear to be"
ReplyDeleteI hope so, but I think it remains to be seen, because we knew for sure that Jack did have daddy issues and because that is what the Island's [intact] existence is working towards, where I don't feel good enough about Conner yet to know if he's "good" for Monroe or if he's going to make Monroe worse than he was before, because Monroe's loss is what drove him to be 'evil', where Jack rarely (just season 5 flashbacks) was sociopathic, he was more of a healer...
I get your concerns, they make sense. Let's see what happens ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Aaron nonsense with the nanites is what made me drop this series.
ReplyDeleteI wondered the same thing, then gave up at the mid-season finale.
ReplyDeleteDear God, yourself. My German Grandparents were in the under ground and joined the American red cross, so I def feel bad for Germany's unfortunate stigma, but it is the closest and most recant comparison in World History I could make.
ReplyDelete"If Kripke says otherwise, he better start writing it on screen instead of saying it in interviews.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on Miles-- it feels like he's been pushed to the back burner lately and is really a shame since Billy Burke is such a great actor and is very funny. I felt the same way about Charlie recently (being pushed to the back burner) & now this quick hook up with connor -- oy!
ReplyDeleteDon't even know what to say about that.
ReplyDelete
